Um, I used to travel extensively for amusement parks and roller coasters, but after I got out of the military I started college full time and haven't been able to travel. I also have saltwater fishtank(s). I only want one (tank), but I need to motivate myself to catch the fish in the old tank before the massively overgrown crab eats them, too. Then I can break down that tank and kill the evil monster.

SU-76M - Soviet light self-propelled artillery installation
rollermonkey replied to BelosveT's topic in Special LEGO Themes
You do a nice job of recreating these vehicles, but do you have to start a new topic for each and every one? There's so many different themes mashed into this forum, and it doesn't seem fair for others to have to wade through a bunch of military vehicles to find Architecture (where we get squashed for trying to start more than one or two topics a year, seriously. We get moderated for trying to start one topic per official set!) or whatever else gets relegated to this forum. -
Can't you call them to confirm the orders?
-
Ditto. I've placed two orders this week with expected ship dates of August 14th or later that are already at least partially fulfilled.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

Most likely... I mean, the Tumbler is featured at the bottom of the calendar... -
I'm not just referring to Star Wars, and I was hoping this wouldn't devolve into a SW topic. I'm saying that OTHER themes that we individually might not ordinarily have any interest in have some surprisingly cool building techniques and features. I'm wondering how many other people have come across this in their own experience.

Picked this up with a bunch of other stuff today, too. -
Finally got around to picking this up and finished building it tonight... Wow. The smaller truck and the fair stuff that stows on it are just OK, but the white semi and mixer itself are FANTASTIC. So awesome.

Most Supercar models don't do anything for me, but this one is AWESOME. It doesn't hurt that the classic 70's Stingray was one of my favorite cars as a kid... The part density is truly impressive.

Probably already sold through the initial run. Inventory levels for everything have been SLAMMED today. -
The AT-AT / Snowspeeder combo pack Oh, wait. That's not a thing, even though it should be.

September LEGO Store Calendar - Classic Space VIP set!
rollermonkey replied to just2good's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sorry, but no. I grew up on CS, but I'll save my $100 for double-points in October, thank you very much. -
As a male AFOL, I find myself generally interested in specific themes. Personally, I came out of the Dark Ages because of the Architecture line, but since then, I've done most of the Modulars, several Creator Expert sets, some UCS Star Wars and more recently Technic. I also have a 4 year old daughter, so I've been helping her with Duplo and more recently Junior, Disney Princess and Friends. As a Lego kid in the 80's brick-stacking was pretty much all we had, and we'd get a bracket or three in Space to put the rockets on the back, nothing too complex. Heck, even 80's Technic sets were generally pretty simple affairs. When I started building new sets I was thrilled at some of the relatively new techniques like SNOT, and all the new pieces. What surprises me most is when I find cool stuff in my daughter's sets. For example, Cinderella's Coach is covered in SNOT. The one that made me want to discuss this was Jungle Falls Rescue. (Friends) I just finished it, and the darned thing uses 4 technic pieces to make a secret door slide open! I guess the point is that I'm completely amazed at the things that happen in other themes that I wouldn't ordinarily be interested in. Does anybody else run into cool things like this?

I'm still building, but in the Creator Mixer, BOTH trucks have a coffee cup on the dashboard.... I'll be very surprised if there's a coffee maker somewhere, but I'm sure that it's not by chance.
