I grew up in Massachusetts which has plenty of them. I currently live near Seattle and they are starting to make an appearance here, although too many are poorly implemented, as they are afterthoughts. I like them, though for whatever that's worth.

What Lego-related thing did you do today?
rollermonkey replied to Savage Oppress's topic in Community
...actually, I filled out the application to work at the local store. Gotta pay to support the habit somehow! -
An odd mix of BABYMETAL on my computer and Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory on the TV my daughter is watching.

For pets, I have two salt water fish tanks (one needs the inhabitants transferred to the other) and a Shiba Inu. In the tanks is an assortment of beginner corals, some crabs, a blenny and a pair of Ocellaris clowns.

Jealous! I don't have the Excavator, Volvo or the Unimog. (yet) Today was a day for small stuff: 42010, 42011, 42021, and 42027 (4 of the 5 $20 Technic sets)

I've been rollermonkey online for... over a decade at least. If it's a bad nickname, it's way too late to change it.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

You'd prefer the scene where Slave I floats out with the trash? In the OT, how many times is it actually seen? I can't think of a third unless we saw it arrive at Bespin? -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Why exactly? Everybody griped about the FB since so many fire department sets are released in City already. ...and how many police station MOCs have you seen that you would add to your city? -

Minor is a guarantee in that timeframe, but major also happens. With a short phase in period, I went from this: To these: -

Here's one justification: The winter gift giving holiday clears the shelves pretty bare. What better to fill them with than new sets? If they reloaded the shelves in January with old sets, they wouldn't go anywhere. By releasing the new wave in January, TLG doesn't have to lower prices to clear inventory like most other companies and instead has good inventory throughput when other retailers are slashing prices to get rid of remaining stocks. -

It's just a rumor started by a LEGO store employee. -

Just a thought here, but if AFOLs are a primary focus of modulars, then the detective agency concept is far more fitting than a police station. (Nuanced and mature rather than generic and whatnot) Besides, with the dozens of police sets released every year, do we really need yet another? -

Completely disagreeing with you. Just because we get a rumor at a certain time does not dictate the follow-on release date for that set. A set could drop tomorrow that nobody outside TLG is aware of. Death Star has been on shelves for an eternity in retail time. Sets that huge most likely have separate development schedules than the rest of the line. For all we know, it's been in the works for three years and only just now passed internal review processes. It could arrive Jan 1with the rest of the wave, May 4th for that promotion, or the rumor could be completely unfounded speculation/wishful thinking or even a prank. -

Did we forget already that the new MTT was never once rumored or leaked and was first discovered ON LEGO STORE SHELVES? TLG clearly can keep secrets when they choose to. Many, if not all, of the leaks and rumors we get are carefully controlled marketing ploys, designed to keep fans talking (and buying) much like an expert fisherman with a fish on the line. Also, as a guy with 20 years in the military, I promise you that there would be at least some minor differences between uniforms and/or battle gear in 5 years. -
Pay no attention to this bunch of Negative Nancies. You made an airplane out of a truck. It's quite functional, and you've got plenty of parts left over to tweak things. IF YOU WANTED TO.

[MT] Lexus LFA

Those are 3 studs in diameter, just like the portal axles. I don't think they'd present a smaller triangle. Oh, wait. You're saying to use the center and two of the sides! Nice. -
LEGO designer just saw that and went "Oh, crap." You even got the flick-fires on there!

I <3 the steering arrangement, and I thought of a way that you might be able to flush the exhaust tips with the body, but still be able to steer: Use a second portal axle with three connectors just like you have there, but add blue axle/pins. Then, when displayed static, just slide out the wheel, and slide it in when driving. I cannot imagine that you'll be able to make a smaller triangular exhaust with standard LEGO, and it's an iconic element of the vehicle. -

...and it's back on US LEGO store shelves again. ...and the price is now $160, instead of $150. -
...and Ed will bring it to you himself? That's an uncommon shipping method.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Most are guessing that will be the Star Wars / Slave I reveal. Modulars were typically a Spring release and PR was early coming Jan 1. -

I can't get over the neverending griping and complaining about minifigs... TLG doesn't give us enough easy ways to get army builders, then not enough rare characters in small sets. I'm beginning to think that the average SW/LEGO fan wouldn't be happy until they release a $3 battlepack with 60,000 figures including every last unnamed extra who got 2 seconds of screen time as well as hundreds of every clone and stormtrooper variant from OT, PT, TCW, TOR, etc. ...and then they'll still complain that the figures don't have the same investment or resale value. After months and years of begging for a UCS Slave I, now people are saying they won't bother if the interior isn't good enough? Get over yourselves and MOC your own ships if TLG isn't putting out exactly what you want. I'm generally thrilled for what they do give us. -
Yeah, even for a MicroFighter, that's a little on the small size. The X-wing and TIE are both 9 studs long, but much wider and the clone turbo tank is 10x6...
