  1. I used to participate in a poll that did exactly that for ranking roller coasters, Bzroom. It worked fine if you'd 'only' been on a few, but when you were up over 1000 coasters ridden it got to be so annoying, I stopped participating.
  2. Wow. 65,621 GBP already? Busy day!
  3. I got my first bricks in the 70's and nobody cared about stuff like this. I call one brick a Lego and more than one Legos. If I were writing a research paper, I'd do the all caps for proprieties sake, but in casual day-to-day it really doesn't matter to me.
  4. Anybody else tempted to try this at the end of step 4? All Terrain Armoured Turtle?
  5. I'm a full time student. Do I really have to add the fact that I'm also supporting a wife and kid and paying a mortgage at the same time? I could use a sale on the US price. I cashed in ALL of my VIP points, and amongst the haul is 42025. I'm trying to make the builds last though... One numbered bag a night. I just did bag 4 of the AT-AT, and the Cargo Plane is next.... And last.
  6. Jiminy Christmas! And I was getting all excited because I almost have enough parts to do Jurgen's Ultimate. Almost. Couple PF items are still back-ordered.
  7. I didn't even think to mention how flimsy the build is. I've never had an Architecture base frame just fall apart on me while I was trying to build it. They cheaped out by not going three plates thick for the base as I believe every other set in the line is. Couple that with the absolutely massive percentage of 1x1 bricks and plates, and I'd bet it is the least structurally sound build apart from the truly awful Burj... Which falls apart as soon as you look at it. I can't even display that one on a shelf without finding pieces falling off of it!
  8. Well, today's the 6th, so it beat that quite handily! I told my Chemistry teacher that if she wanted one, that she'd better either stop at the Lego store on the way home, or buy it online as soon as she got home. I hope she didn't put it off.
  9. Backers will now get design #2, even if the stretch goal isn't reached. Hopefully the typical pattern holds true and there is a big rush of pledges during the last week so these guys aren't as financially exposed... You know they had to spend some serious money to get these prototypes built.
  10. Pretty sure it's 40 GBP... That's how I read the Kickstarter description. Now that it has hit the mark, some people who previously saw this and didn't back, will do so now, on the grounds that they didn't want to support something that might fail. Hopefully, they also get a nice, strong final push. I think we'd all love to see it start hitting stretch goals.
  11. Well, I got it and I built it... And my opinion is unchanged. It's not a very good set, IMO. Some really repetitive portions, some questionable parts usage, overly abstracted, not even any interesting building techniques. Almost all of the 125 trans-blue plates are added in 4 or 5 consecutive steps. Most of the back wall is layered 1x1 bricks, actually, so is the front. Oddly, on one of the layers 1x3 bricks are used, with only one stud connected to the layer below, then nothing connects to the part that sticks in towards the middle of the building. The sides of Oceanus' alcove aren't closed, beautiful bas reliefs are represented by SNOT tiles, really, the only use I might get out of it is as an overpriced parts pack for trans-clear and trans-blue. Sad, really, as I love the Architecture line apart from this set. 4/10
  12. Tease.
  13. Maybe I phrased that poorly... With a 57-entry MOC contest going on right now, keeping it in sight of voters who might want to be backers, but don't follow the Technic forum can't be all bad? I mean, my only interest in the project is getting my own SBricks... And with under £3.000 to go, it looks like it should be fully funded, with 8 days to go.
  14. I looked in several places as I was voting... It took me the better party of 30 minutes to vote. I looked at the 57-in-one image to make a list of entries I either was considering voting for, or I couldn't make out anything of the model and hadn't read the individual topic. Then I looked at every entry in the entry thread and added some I'd overlooked and removed a couple others from my list. I looked at a couple individual topics, too. Then I allocated points evenly... And then added one more, and reallocated points. Then another, and realized that it was 21 points... and rather than knock them all down from 3 points, took the last one back off. Then I looked at them all again and was really wanting to have 30 points, as there were so many good ones that I couldn't give points to! I hit submit, mostly in frustration that there were so many great entries.
  15. OK, that makes me feel better about my low-ish opinion.
  16. Very nice! You could probably make a few $$$ selling the files or even just printing the stickers even if you don't want to be putting them on LEGO yourself. I'd pay at least a few bucks over cost for a dish that looks that good. I bought a couple parts for a 10179 when I placed my last BNP order. I'm going to do this one very, very slowly.
  17. The whole time I'm watching that, I'm hoping nobody pulls in to wash their car!
  18. Just finished this... I like it. It's a great concept. but... I gotta be honest: It doesn't really feel like a $20 set. It's more like three $5 Friends polybags in a box together. I mean, the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid is $20, also comes with three minifigs, is licensed, and is a heck of a lot more substantial than this set is. Maybe if they were on bigger baseplates, or something... I dunno.
  19. Did one build last night and another today, took pictures during both...
  20. Are you suggesting that Technic fans be social with other types of Lego fans?
  21. The 120 pledge has three SBricks and instructions for using SBricks in the 42000... There is no pledge to get the 42000 model.
  22. You'd be amazed at how easy it is to get answers to questions when you ask them directly to the people who have the answers. (I blame cell phones. )
  23. That's a huge part of why I'm keeping it on the front page, too. I'm sure that Technic fans are somewhat more likely to be AFOL, and thus don't have time to read through all the topics every day, but also are more likely to have the disposable income to actually support this. Hopefully, folks will keep coming in and supporting it.
  24. I know... But at least you get sales... Our only real chance at a sale is the last five seconds before a set retires!
