Looking forward to it Jim -
I'm sold ... But then i used to own a mini. Shame its the more modern interior and not the original central dials. so is this to the same scale as the vw bus? looks like this summer is an expensive Lego time for me with the Volvo technic too!

Hoping I'm going to have time to join this comp. Off on holiday for a couple of weeks in 2 weeks time :) -
Great review Jim. Definitely going to buy this set. Any idea how it compares scale wise to 8043 Excavator or Dozer (B Model), not as in overall size but are they made to the same scale ?

Hi vc, i downloaded the lxf and I'm concerned you'll lose a lot of your nice design features as there are lots of floating parts! I hope you manage to solve these as it looks great so far

The addition of the arches looks good One helpful hint for LDD ... Use local models ! I took copies of the main model to then just extract a local area to solve connection problems So do you know how this body all holds together and can mount to a chassis yet ? Are the doors/bonnet/boot supposed to open too?

VC how about making the side stripe a single half beam wide stripe, so convert the red you have to black, that would make it more of a pinstripe type look

Sorry but I don't like the side stripe or the choice or tail lights you've gone for As to rm8s comment about the wheel base yes it looks slightly too long, perhaps by 1 or 2 studs, most probably in the rear quarter just behind the door

For the tail lights either of the middle 2 designs for me If I sent you a pm with my email address any chance of the LDD of the non crawler version ? I might then have a hack of a chassis in real bricks, my preferred way of working. Credit will be given to you if I ever complete it and post it!

Explorer Paddle Boat
Seasider replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I agree with tommy, more small paddles around the edge or a large wheel instead of the four blade design ... Means more consistent power delivery -
VC - only just found this and it looks great so far, would certainly be interested in building this myself LDD is a real challenge ... Good luck !ive so far made 4 LDD models, all were a challenge

Omg an fw14b ! Ranked in the top 3 of my all time favourite f1 cars, the other 2 being a lotus 97t and a mclaren mp4-4 If you watch the film senna there is a Williams 'dancing' on its active suspension in the garage ... Just shows how amazing the car was And the one and only f1 race I've been to was that silverstone where mansell gave senna the lift home, and I was at club corner too ! Might have to get the instructions for some of these So how about a lotus 97t next and then I can build all 3? Quick q ... Does the mp4-4 mode do with and without the intakes on the top of the side pods ?

[JFAIR] Autogyro / Gyrocopter
Seasider replied to Seasider's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well in reality the 'exterior' panels on one of these are normally plastic/composite so relatively light. but I understand your comment. What I might try and do is modify the main rotor head and pull it forward by a few studs to try and balance it a bit better. Not going to change the nose of it though as that has been one of the main issues with the model and it took me long enough to get to this point ! -
So I finally managed to convert the Autogyro from LDD to real bricks ... and did a few modifications along the way. Hope you all like it. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=90984entry1875909

[JFAIR] Autogyro / Gyrocopter
Seasider replied to Seasider's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello everyone, So at the end of Feb I moved house and jobs (a 200 mile move!) and then I was without internet for some 6 weeks (really annoying). I'd given up on the Autogyro in LDD as I was unhappy with the nose, couldn't get the rudder connected properly and also had solved how to get the front wheel to turn with the rudder pedals. So in the mean time I'd bought these three beauties. Honest, I didn't buy the big Heli and Cargo Plane just for the props for my Autogyro !!!!!!! And so last week after peaking back onto the forum and noticing the lack of completed JFAIR builds I dusted off the laptop, fired up LDD and built the Autogyro in real bricks and got to problem solving the way I like by trial and error with the real stuff. and so here it is the completed Autogyro. First some stats .... Flat 4 engine with exhaust powering drive prop Working control column for pitch and roll of lift rotor Working rudder pedals which turn both the rudder and front wheel So here's some pictures (I might try and take some in daylight against a white background when I get a chance) Main lift rotor pitches and rolls (linked to control column) View of undercarriage The Cockpit ... unfortunately the dials don't work! Flat 4 engine with exhaust Working Rudder Pedals Yes it's that BIG ! Hope you enjoyed it. There's a few tweaks I could do but isn't there always with MOCs ? -
haven't received mine yet ... but then I also haven't been at home since Sunday !
