I'm OK with people who have a WIP topic and who haven't posted in the Official Entry thread to do so. But I should be limited to today only.

Answering your question ... Is the yellow selector in the wrong position in the photo? think I'll get this and PF it. but the cargo plane will take priority -

Thanks Just noticed the tailplane isn't pinned together properly at the front ! I might redo the pictures on Saturday if I get a chance, so can get some decent lighting on them -

LEGO Appreciation at Work
Seasider replied to NevynPA's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The car you mean is a Citroen DS ... built from 1955-75 ... it had separate hydraulic units as suspension for each wheel so it could lift one off the ground ... meaning no need for a jack to change the wheel if you had a flat tyre. Would make a great MOC if no one has already done one Back on topic ... please keep us updated with the continuing saga o the Technic models and Beccah 'Cleaning Girl' -

I think Dutch is right ... It's a mechanical rudolf ... The lit red nose is the giveaway ... So I guess a sled and a Santa to follow ? -
[TRIPLE] Let's Go Gliding !
Seasider replied to Seasider's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
OK I know I promised that I'd put my entry into the official thread this week. Well there's a 'slight' problem (english sarcasm for any non-brits) I decided to download LDD and over the past week I've built the 3 models in LDD ... and hence my problem has arisen as I'm now aware how out from the part limit I am ... and its embarassing to say the least ... but here's my issue Model 1 - Truck - 653 Parts ! Model 2 - Trailer - 662 Parts ! Model 3 - Glider - 432 Parts See at least I managed to get one model within the limit ... So the next week or so when I have time its going to be a manic ripping apart of the models to try and remove pins or beams but not lose stiffness or detail. A tough task I think ... hopefully I'll get it done in time to enter this ! -

Like the build. Love the dirt buggy but personally i'd have a fake engine sitting over the rear wheels -

My Christmas Tree Decoration ... The Technic Sledge It's even hung using a 'winch and hook' so you can easily unhook it from the tree and let your Technic-man go and have some fun on it ! Please Note: No Technic pieces were harmed in the making of this decoration :)

[TRIPLE] Let's Go Gliding !
Seasider replied to Seasider's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks for the comments guys. I've added a further level of beams onto the surround for the rear bed which makes it nicer as it brings it up to the same height as the bonnet line at the a-post (yes I'm an automotive engineer by trade so please excuse any industry terms). As to the number plate, its actually the blank one from my 41999 set. I didn't use the numbered one (or the sticker) from 41999 as they refer to that particular set and so I think just a clean numberplate works best for this set. I've also since added a towbar assembly. So now it's just model 2 (the trailer) to go :) -

As promised some pictures of the Truck MkII I've still got a couple of tweaks to make to this but otherwise I think this is my Truck ... I think it looks a lot better not being black and having some shape to it now. Also hopefully you'll agree that the wheelbase and wheel/tyre size does actually work. -

i had exactly the same thought so i ripped up the body and its a bit more curvy. it was originally meant to be an old style truck but i don't think it works I've kept the wheelbase as i like the length of it esp with the new body still need to do that part count too new pics tomorrow. -

A quick update from me as I managed to get some LEGO-time this afternoon/evening and crack on with the builds. The Glider (model 3) is now complete and runs in at about 410parts (from a very crude count). Well it's complete unless I think it needs a tweak, The Pickup (model 1) is almost done, just requiring the bed to be done, but after doing the crude calc on the Glider I'm now concerned this is a million miles from the 500 part requirement! I'll have to try and get some time to count it ... and work out a way how too without breaking it down too far ! Model 2 ... well I still haven't started it ... pretty easy to guess what it will be too. So here are the pictures, enjoy. -
Silly slightly OT question but it looks like a few of you use Stanley Organisers for storing your lovely Technic ... looking at getting some myself ... any suggestions as to which is best ? Been looking at Junior Sortmasters or Sortmaster or Deep Professional ... the Junior is on special offer at a UK store at the moment
