  1. I honestly forgot Mutt's "fake" last name was Williams! It would be a great way to tie these figures more into the Indy mythos. I will try and find a way to get the classic Adventurers story and Pharoah's Quest involved with these guys to, especially since I see them more as "Lego Adventurers" than part of the "real" Indy story.
  2. Yeah I rechecked the eBay listing and noticed he was selling 2 copies of the set, that makes a little bit more sense but it is still an eight dollar price increase above the original MSRP for buying the two in a store. Anyway I got the set built, and sent a review to Brickset, just waiting for it to be moderated before it is posted! Here are a few of my set pictures:
  3. Over in the discussion for the new Indiana Jones 5 movie, I jokingly named a possible 1970'2/1980's successor to Professor Jones's legacy, Amazon Rex! I made some custom figures for Amazon and his pals, and since I don't have a MOC for them yet I figured it would be best to post them here. Officer James Grayson drives a motorcycle through crowded city streets to chase a dastardly villian who has stolen a museum exhibit, with Ms. Virginia Williams sitting behind him... Meanwhile Amazon Rex is trying to keep up with the chase, but due to the lack of a car is using a rope and a snowboard to stay tethered to his friends motorcycle! So yeah, enough of the silly story, here are the figures. Other than the three introduced in the previous pictures there is to the far left Dr. Heinrich VonBron, a "Neo-Organization that must not be named in Lego", who is determined to find ancient artifacts with power; and to the far right is Amazon Rex's old mentor who needs no introduction... Thanks for reading!
  4. Found it at a Smith's Marketplace here in Utah this morning along with Olaf's Summertime Fun. Both were the last ones on the display, and both were $4.99 each. I'll build the Spider-Man one soon and write a review for it on Brickset, (maybe I'll get pics for this forum to). A few eBay sellers are trying to sell it for $18.00 right now. Scalpers perhaps?
  5. I watched Thor2 on TV! Still my least favorite MCU film.
  6. ^Davee, that is a wonderful description of why Lego is popular, and appeals to children and AFOLs.
  7. How rare is the Spider-Man vs. The Venom Symbiote polybag? I just bought one at a store, and noticed not a lot of people on Brickset own the set; and the eBay prices for it are x4 times higher than what I bought it for.
  8. Tony Stark has three head pices, each are double sided. One might be hard to get though since it comes with an exclusive Polybag
  9. Ouch! That era was known for quality control issues,so there is no surprise the parts broke; but the fact the seller didn't inform you of the broken parts is ridiculous! Contact the seller demanding a refund, and if he doesn't respond or refuses to refund money or replace the parts; then rate the seller in the feedback thread to indicate the bad experience and warn future buyers.
  10. I am digging the sea plane. 5935 was the only Adventurers set I had as a kid, and it has been disassembled for years. Your seaplane modernizes it, yet retains all that made the original great!
  11. Well now it is in my signature; just need to either make a MOC of it, or find a game for him to star in... Anyway back to Indy 5 discussion.
  12. Honestly I just slapped on "Amazon" since that sounds adventure! And "Rex" due to being a) a real name and b) a shared name with two Star Wars characters (keeping the Lucasfilm vibe). Maybe I should make a MOC of my "Amazon Rex" creation and get the idea rolling... ;)
  13. This is probably one of the most ridiculous MOCs to be posted here, but it is a combiner of two Toa models from 2015... Lets just say it is a combiner of the two Toa who would least like to be stuck with one another; let alone sharing the same body! Give it up for, Tapaka! Or maybe it is Kopakahu? Or just Kopaka and Loser? Walking must be a chore, especially since it seems Tahu controls one half and Kopaka the other. Looks like Tahu wants to go somewhere Kopaka doesn't... Looks like the argument is heating up and, OHHHH! Ouch, Tahu has thrown a fist into Kopaka's face! Kopaka strikes back with his spear! How will these two ever learn to get along? Are they destined to be the most powerful TwoToa ever? Or are they doomed to become the stars of: Kopaka the Cold Toa 3: Civil War. (Or maybe it should be called Kopaka vs Tahu: Dawn of TwoToa-ness, I don't know...) Hope you enjoyed this silly combiner model! I would like to see what other Twotoa the members on this forum can come up with!
  14. The image of Jean-Luc being called "Jim Kirk" is pretty funny ;) But it is a good point, Indy is a name for one guy. The only issue I am thinking of is, what artifacts are there to explore for Indy (and a successor) in 1970, 1980, 1990? Part of the appeal of Indy was its period settings. If Indy 5 is set in the 60's or 70's I'd be interested in how his search is supposed to parallel the world of counter culture, The Beatles, and space travel.
  15. Classic "Hordika necks" in sockets type of fingers. The old 2006 Bionicle set, Axxon, used a similar build.
  16. Just saying, if they wanted to replace Indy why make a new Indy film? Why not do what the Rocky franchise did with "Creed"? Do Indy 5 focusing on Indy, then make a follow up film focused on the new character with Indy as his mentor.Don't brand the follow up as another Indy film but brand it, " Amazon Rex" or whatever the name of the new character is... (Don't take the name Amazon Rex to seriously...)
  17. Gosh, why aren't these characters in an official set yet! ;) Well done, I figured the lab coat from the Ideas set would work for Simmons. Skye/Daisy's use of the new Black Widow torso is a bit odd; I think another piece would better suit the character. Bobbi, Fitz, and Grant are spot on! Mack looks to much like Deathlock, he needs to lose the armored suit. Coulson looks good, but I am not sure about his hair piece,it looks to slicked.I haven't started Season 3 yet so I don't know how Coulson replaces his hand yet, but your fig looks like the few photos I have seen of Phil in Season 3. If I ever Bricklink parts for these characters, I'll use your figures for inspiration.
  18. So classic Lewa Mata Green is, Dark Green? Huh, Lego has such weird name choices for their colors.
  19. Lewa has never had Dark Green in a set in the entire history of Bionicle. It is more of a Matau and Kongu type of color :)
  20. The last book I read was "The Martian" which was the source of the movie. The gale force winds never bothered me in the movie; the jumping out of a spaceship pretending to be Iron Man bothered me BIG TIME. The book has a more logical scenario for that climax scene; that in my opinion is equally dramatic. The book also explains the science %100 better than the film; and the film still did a good job for a movie.
  21. It's happening again in General Discussion. It used to be the spammers were only attacking at midnight, but now it is a 24/7 occurance.
  22. I definitely won't be at the 2016 show (to far away!), but the 2019 show is in my area... So for the next few years every time "NMRA Convention" is mentioned I'll be psyched for 2019. Also anytime somebody says "Golden Spike" it will psych me out for 2019... 2019 :)
  23. Town forum of all places just got hit. If I see Train Tech hit I'll just die :P
  24. Technically the Mr. Toad tombstone is only in the Florida version;) Good MOC, I like the use of portriats from the actual ride. Could use a stretching room though.
  25. You really caught the spirit of the interiors!
