At long last I can say: "There's Umarak!!!" So my thoughts on the set: He looks great, but his bow prevents him posing well. His color scheme is spot on though. The Mask of Control is a bit underwhelming, it looks like they made it small to allow for the unity function, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Mask of Creation (although perhaps its design hints that Makuta was considered the "lesser" brother?). I don't like the waist function to much, since I have a unit with high friction which is causing squeaking (I might need a Lego safe lubricant to fix it!). That Piece of Unity is HUGE! I thought it was going to be the size of G1 thigh armor, but it is bigger than that. But ohhhh; Umarak is so much cooler than Kulta or the other Skull Villains were. He is such a good promising start villain-wise for Bionicle's future. Here is hoping the beasts will be just as fun once in hand.

Will be excited to see your next version! Plus I'll drp a hint for another MOC idea: "MPTL-2a" and "T4-B" ;) -
[Review] Kopaka: Mata, Nuva and Phantoka
xboxtravis7992 replied to MightySlickPancake's topic in LEGO Action Figures
So sorry to bump this old topic, but seeing that Kopaka now comes in 5 forms I feel it is time for a retrospective. Design wise I feel the Kopaka Mata was the best of G1 Bionicle's Ice Toa, he looks iconic: Kopaka Nuva while cool is a rehashed build. Kopaka from 2008; just looks like another Matoro/Nuju figure. He lost a lot of his charm and suffered from this terrible "monkey arms." I never owned this set, but I own Matoro Inika and they look very... Similar. My favorite Kopaka of all time didn't exist when this review was made; Kopaka Master of Ice. :) He captures the look of Kopaka Mata, with articulation that puts his 2008 version to shame. He even has Kopaka Nuva's skis! I have yet to buy Kopaka and Melum from 2016. They look like fun, with Kopaka's "machine gun shield" and broadsword making the character %110 more bad a**. Glad to see Kopaka has had a long life with Lego! -
Why do I now want to see a blue bonnet engine in the fleet too along with an orange BNSF SD70 rolling by? ...that's the problem were I live; to much Armour Yellow ;)

This needs to be a meme or something.

The curse of learning a new word eh? Never heard it before then you'll hear it a dozen times in a row

Great fanon build! Love the crew compartment's diagonal table.

Wait Duck Tales is being rebooted? (I know, I am 12 months late to the party...) I like rerurns of that show when I was a kid but I'm not to fanatic about it. Just hope it is 2D animation and not CGI. Also if Disney can bring back an old cartoon show; should I hope Warner Brothers does the same for Animaniacs/Pinky and the Brain? ;)

I'd appreciate the details; but I would be shocked at the price tag. I'd then use my money on cheaper Modular Buildings; especially since the firehouse is not Modular compatible. I still haven't bought the firehouse either and probably will not. I haven't seen Ghostbusters since I was a kid and my mom rented it on VHS tape. 80's movies such as Star Wars and Back to the Future hold more appeal to me than Ghostbusters. I'm a 90's (and 2000's) child not an 80's one; wake me up when Lego releases a UCS "Pinky and the Brain" set.

Star Wars Constraction - Character Wishlists
xboxtravis7992 replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Han Solo! Yoda, Leia, Mace Windu, R2, C-3P0, BB-8 (?), and some clone troopers would be good. I also want to see a Captain Rex figure... But I am not talking about the clone trooper; I am referring to RX-24! -
Old WW2 slang word; still in use in the military (for example an education WWII film by the guys who did Looney Tunes was called "Private SNAFU"); just I used an "edited" version (that F stands for something else...). Denotes a situation were everybody gets all hyped up and paniced, only to realize nothing happened hence the phrase, Situation Normal-All Freaked Up. It seems to describe everything which just happened: everything is fine, we just all panicked.
-
So, 'Situation Normal All "Freaked" Up' then?

3 Modular Houses - old & modern, with Kwik-E-Mart, TBBT and more
xboxtravis7992 replied to cimddwc's topic in LEGO Town
:O Spectacular! The Big Bang set looks %1000 times better as part of a building. The stores are all brilliant. That living room in the modern house to, nice plasma screen! (Yet so simple!) You even have catenary poles set for the electric train too! -
Finally got Umarak! My thoughts, he is tall and imposing and looks cool, but that bow is harder to pose than Skull Warrior's bow

Ah the Texas State Railroad was once part of the same corporation that owns the Durango and Silverton. Talked to the owner of that buisness once on a phone interview for a school project. Nice guy. And if they still own the Texas State Railroad then maybe you can share this to Durango and Silvertons page too; and the D&S is kind of the MOST FAMOUS TOURIST TRAIN IN AMERICA! :)

There is a 4-6-0 in Alberta Canada it looks like.

There is a little situation developing in Train Tech right now about modding. May I add my $0.02 here? First: On a phone browser it is impossible for me to notice the difference between a Mod or a regular member since the only info shown is the avatar and the username. I wonder if the member in question posted without realizing he was talking to a Mod because he was on a phone browser. Second: What the member posted about metal train track in Train Tech is hardly a disastrous post. This isn't some kid asking "plz subscribe" or a debate about superheroes or a battle between old and new Bionicle. Nor is it spam or violating major site rules. This is a railfan making a very very applicable joke. Seeing that posts are added so slowly to Train Tech, this post is not causing issues in finding the other content in the forum. Third: Saying that the phrase "Lighten Up" is abusive behavior is silly. Bullying, trolling, and mocking are abusive; a common joking phrase is hardly such. Seeing that much harsher language has been used on Eurobricks without qualm (I have seen the F-Bomb dropped in the Lego Mafia and Gaming thread) I hardly consider "Lighten Up" to be offensive.

I've found lots and lots of metal track for sale
xboxtravis7992 replied to Paperballpark's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think discussions about moderators actions can go to the "Some rude moderators?" thread in Forum Information. Seeing the crap that MOD's have to deal with all the time in the other threads, Train Tech is rather tame in comparison. Anyway about the track, I love this random tidbit of rail history. My hometown has a US Army munitions depot and it is covered in raillines. A military base would make a great scene to MOC on a LUG track layout. And yes I appreciate the joke about metal track being hard to find :) I use Power Functions though so I am content with plastic track for now. -
[MOC] Rebel Alliance T-2B Repulsor Tank
xboxtravis7992 replied to Forresto's topic in LEGO Star Wars
T-2B's get shredded by AT-ST formations. What you need is an artillery tank behind them 100 yards, firing rockets in a constant barrage... I like the model, it is very recognizable. Seeing the last time somebody made a T2-B was when Battlefront was still on PSP, your model is light years ahead. My only suggestion would be to cover up some of the studs and smooth the design a bit. -
I think there was a deleted scene in Jedi were there was a sandstorm and everybody was getting on the Falcon. Leia had a poncho or a coat she was wearing at that moment. EDIT: Han had a ponch/shawl too! And Leia also got some goggles.
-
Makes sense. And the Toa Metru and Toa Inika were really great sets, although storywise that was a long time without the Toa Nuva... I love all three teams, but the Toa Nuva were the most iconic. But if Lego wants to introduce a new team they need to balance the story better to.
