  1. One of my favorite sets in my collection, it sits proudly with my EN and HE. I hope Lego explores more American railroading someday, perhaps an American steam engine such as UP 844 would make a great Creator Expert set?
  2. According to Brickset: 244 (I would give or take a few though).
  3. Sorry, I can't see the photo either. However you can go on Brickset and browse the Bionicle theme, every Bionicle set made is recorded on Brickset. Now if you have loose masks which don't go with any sets, that is a whole other collecting issue.
  4. Your first guess is the right one; Sharpie Clone is a term used to describe any choppy customization job on a Clone Trooper to make it match the colors of the myriad of legions in Star Wars. Also thanks to all the posters who are responding to the thread, great to hear the various opinions.
  5. I am excited about the Lego store opening in Utah, however it might be some time before I get the chance to visit.
  6. Very true, if we wanted to eliminate trolls 100% we would all be on Brickshelf.
  7. Thanks for responding. Have you checked the arms? Usually there is a little indent on the China figures not present on the Mexico/Danish ones. Here are some links to pictures Huw Milington took showing the difference: China: http://www.flickr.co...157622329075437 Mexico/Danish: http://www.flickr.co...57622329075437/ That arm test is my standard go to for checking the figure's origin. Update: Noticed some of the photos you took show numbers on Han's wrists... So it looks like he is probably from China then. Still, Han looks like a great figure anyways.
  8. I have noted a general belief around the community that MOCpages is seen as the more "immature" Lego moc hosting site in comparison to Flickr. However in my short time on MOCpages, I have begun to notice some changes in the community, for example: MOCpages has been derided in the past for users who leave comments such as "Es S0 awsum, instructions plz; chck out my stuf!!!!" However my personal experience shows comments such as that are often several years old, and moderncomments are more mature. Meanwhile I have begun to notice trolling on Flickr, much harsher than anything I have seen on MOCpages. MOCpages has been derided for hosting beginner creations such as those from "Clone Kiddies" and "Halo Kiddies." However many of those users have either gone inactive; or matured their building skills and become some of the better builders in the community. Meanwhile on Flickr I see more and more "Sharpie Clones" and "Sharpie Superheroes" showing up in Lego fan feeds. The popular MOCs on MOCpages are generally of a higher quality now when compared to the past. Using the "What was popular this day 'x' years ago" feature often shows more immature models than those currently gaining recognition. Now that I have made my case for MOCpages, I have to include a brief dissenting opinion. While I have not used Flickr to host MOCs; I have heard many people claim it is easier to load photos and more reliable; something I believe seeing how often MOCpages has technical issues. Also I have noticed the best Lego builders don't limit themselves to one website, often posting Mocs on both MOCpages, Flickr, Brickshelf, and here on Eurobricks; thus making the argument the best Lego website is all of them. However I personally think MOCpages, has the potential to regain a lot of users if the technical issues can be addressed. I believe the MOCpages community is now a better community than Flickr. Furthermore I am becoming shocked at the immaturity of some Flickr users, and how fads such as "Sharpie Clones" which in my opinion are beginning to die out on MOCpages; are still very much alive on Flickr. Lastly Flickr, without the language guidelines present on any Lego fan site, has some very offensive trolling. What are your thoughts on this? Anybody agree with me, or does anybody have a reason to disagree?
  9. When I was younger I let most of my sets fall apart, only for me to come back years later to piece them back together again. Because I don't want to repeat building a set again, I keep all my new sets and many of my older ones all together; using the sets I have not put back together yet as MOC fodder.
  10. Silly question, but is the figure itself from Mexico or China? I understand if the hood piece is from China but I am curious as to if the rest of the fig is from Mexico.
  11. LIU Atlas is a MOC comedy series on MOCpages, which has been featured several times in The Brothers Brick. I enjoy reading them, and enjoy their sci fi themes. Anybody else here an LIU fan and what do you think of the series?
  12. All of my collection is divided by themes (Star Wars divided further by factions). With this obvious segregation, I imagine there would be a lot of cultural tensions between the various groups. Eventually war will break out. The Star Wars factions will be well prepared for this battle, I also assume my Bionicle and Harry Potter sets would be equally adept at battle. However the residents of my Modular Buildings and Trains will be doomed, unarmed and caught between armies. Themes I have only a handful of figures for would become guns for pay, using their unique powers to change the tide of the war. Finally despite their size my old Galidor sets (yes I still have them) will be treated with disrespect and hatred by all the other Lego groups. And then after the war, the figures will put everything back together, tell the opposing side "Good game, same time next week?" and then return to their immobile plastic state.
  13. This tends to happen regularly on MOCpages. My suggestion is this, find the user page for Chris Phipson and/or search for the group "Help." Phipson is one of the mods on the site and he usually addresses issues like this on the Help group page. Usually it takes a few days to get fixed, which usually requires Sean Kenny to do something with the site servers. Just be patient for a few days/weeks then things should be back to normal. Hope this helps.
  14. As a former 5K runner this really makes me upset. Nobody should be in danger while at a race. Worse, family members usually come to these races to support their relatives who are running. I hope for swift recoveries for the victims; and swift justice on the culprits.
  15. I cannot help but wonder how many of us have made it to this forum through your link on MiceChat... Anyway is the train still in progress? It looks like it will be very nice once it is finished. I agree on the sentiment that LDD though is difficult to use for designing trains.
  16. Hello, I am Jacob and I have joined Eurobricks. I have mostly been lurking around the Star Wars and Train Tech forums so expect to see me show up around there sometime.
