Dark blue and white is a great color scheme, and it really shines well here. What I'd recommend for impeovements, the leg proportions are off quite a bit, especially with the legs. I'd recommend using Bricklink to buy some shorter CCBS beams and some small shells for them to make the parts from the ankles to the knees shorter. The good thing about the CCBS parts is that their smooth texture when used sparingly doesn't conflict with the classic G1 textures (at least IMHO).

Do you know how many LEGO do you have?
xboxtravis7992 replied to SrChuck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah I use Brickset to keep track of my sets; although my "loose pieces" are not registered there. Brickset's database also allows to mark sets "wanted" to allow easy tracking of availability and MSRB on sets. -
Yes looking at my collection I got as a kid here are some recommendations: Toa Mata- Classic characters. The build is really bland by modern standards; and they don't do much; but their design is ascetically pleasing. Honestly it is fun to compare them to the current 2015 Toa sets because it is obvious the designers in 2015 mimicked the 2001 designs. The Toa Nuva from 2002 are basically identical to the Toa Mata with a few small upgrades to their build and tools. Bohrok- Fun, some cool play features; but also a basic build. I own 6 Bohrok and 2 Bohrok Kal in different colors. One option for collecting though might be to buy 8 Bohrok of the same color to form a "swarm." Toa Metru- Decent build; but unfortunately almost the same among the six figures. Still, this was the year that Bionicle had a "cyber-punk" feel to it, and the Metru are very sleek and futuristic. With them is also the option of buying the Lihkan & Kikanahlo set of 2004, and the Toa Norik and Iruni sets of 2005 which follow the same design; but with metallic like parts. Toa Hordika- Pass on these; they offered little to the line other than some cool parts. Piraka- Cool builds; but I have a lot of hairline fractures in the joints of these figures; so beware. The titan set; Vezon & Fenrahk is ridiculously cool and might be my favorite Gen 1 set that I got as a kid! Toa Inika- Clone designs; kind of flat... But they are a cool team. This is when Bionicle became, emo? They have great articulation that has only been surpassed by the 2015 sets. Barrahki- They are all unique, but share the hairline fracturing problem of the Piraka and Inika era. This is when I lost interest in G1 as a kid so I can't tell you anything about later releases.

Do you want the Lego collectible bubble to burst?
xboxtravis7992 replied to Gomek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The sad thing is I live in semi-rural small towns... And that era is of finding old product is GONE. I had to rush to the store to buy up Lego sets quickly several times in the past few years. Take 2015 for example, were after Christmas I went to the store to buy the Bionicle set Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder. I think most AFOL's would agree that Bionicle is hardly Lego's biggest selling theme right now... Yet I arrived at the store and there was just ONE copy of set left. Just one! Unbelievable! The reason I am still scratching my head about the Ant-Man set though was because its shelf life was so short. I know there were recalls and what not; but the set was not given a full release! One day it was in the store; the next it was gone for good. To make matters worse; the new Civil War sets don't include a regular Ant Man figure so you can figure that is driving up his value in the market right now. -
dfyhhgdsghdg and fghgfhdf were a pair of spam bots. They arrived on Eurobricks mid day. They tried to speak in every Asian language. (Forgetting that Eurobricks speaks English...) Their time here was short; for the mods blasted them away!

Do you want the Lego collectible bubble to burst?
xboxtravis7992 replied to Gomek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Burst! The price increases and limited set runs are horrible. I can't believe the Ant-Man set was only on the shelves for 6 months and now that it is out of stock, the Ant-Man minifig now is on Bricklink, for $20; the price of the ENTIRE SET!!! This is getting ridiculous. I can't keep up with set releases anymore, and once a set goes off the market Bricklink prices triple. I miss the days were a set could be found on a shelf in a small Toy store 2-3 years after release. -

To ease your fears; I am 22 years old and I know through Facebook a handful of 18-30 something year old rail modelers in my state. It's a small group, (the old guys out number us still) but the young are there. Recently I even watched on that group a 20 something year old scratch build a 1:87 scale building; with WORKING door hinges... Meanwhile another group member, a high school student has volunteered to take on Big duties in 3 years at the 2019 NRMA Convention to be held in our state. Not all hope is lost!

Just saw Zootopia earlier today. Very well done. To celebrate its message of love and peace; I ordered a lamb gyro at a Greek restaurant after the film (hehehe...) Hmm a Big Hero 6 show? I wanted to see their continued adventures after the movie finished, but I figured a theatrical sequel would be out of question. A TV program sounds perfect though!

But not technically an Ideas set. The first Ecto-1 was, but the Firehouse/Dimensions/Reboot sets are all part of a licensed theme. Same with Minecraft, the first set was a Cuusoo set, but everything else was all a licensed theme.

This deserves to be saved to this discussion; I believe it is the most nonsense Spam I have ever read. Even more nonsense than the rocking horse. "I'd as instead of they have a yet that there will be a smidgen well they have it did not appropriate in the problem dynamic just managed to get intended that the that vanquished yet around the globe youngbleaux identified not material not allowed to about-face Carl didgeridoo explosiveness you nothing about it you know the disruption and I suppose that it you have gotten together at me I'm no vimax" -AngyRamy (A soon to be ex-member of Eurobricks)

I am still marveling at the pieces used. Anytime classic Bionicle, CCBS shells, Knights Kingdom 2, and System pieces come together tastefully in a MOC; it is good!

Memories... By the time I was in High School this old classroom style began to be "digitized" although a few old VHS players remained!

Thanks for summing up my feelings exactly :) My hippy thought of the day, "Everybody, feel the peace! Take your ill-will to Bionicle, Ninjago, China and Nexo Knights; place it on the scape goat of Galidor. When this thread dies we will chuck Galidor to the edge of the village, and hope it never comes back"

But there ain't anything cooler than watching those long beasts pull a train over a mile long at full track speed! Heavy metal man! ;)

Bionicle 2016 Story Discussion & Rumors
xboxtravis7992 replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Meh... Wasn't a fan of Journey to One. Forgettable dialogue. Bad pacing; and not a lot of world building. The animation and voices were okay. The story just felt like the stuff I came up with as a kid in 2001 when Bionicle just came out... I was half expecting a giant kids hand to pick up the Toa and write their dialogue. What I did like though was the last 30 seconds with Umarak and Makuta; that was cool direction; but 30 seconds didn't save the hour and a half for me. -
That's why I am saying the title of "most hated" needs to go to a universally disliked theme. I'll defend Bionicle; it was part of my childhood and I am enjoying the new sets. But I will not give any mercy towards Galidor, Clikits, or Jack Stone; which are three themes universally disliked by even AFOL's that were kids when they came out.
-
Maybe you should join "The Lego Group" (the real one...) Man if this was an official set this summer it would be snapped up fast.
-
You could set up track; but I don't think you should leave actual model outside for that long. There is a G-Scale guy near my hometown whose layout has a shed were he can store his locomotives inside when not in use.
-
The only one of those 5 themes I have bought is Star Wars. Still trying to get the Falcon though...
-
Just can they give handrawn animation another film at least? With so much talent I think they could make any animated film shine.

That change in the roof makes it spot on! Can't wait to see it in the Brick now!
