  1. I was primarily talking about someone using instructions for someone elses model, tweaking it, and then claiming it as their own. I just don't think that is right regardless if Lego is just a fun toy or not.
  2. I think if someone is building a model and making instructions for free or to sell that uses someone elses ideas, then giving props to the person whose work was copied should at least be given out of common courtesy.
  3. Interesting list of models, especially for the 2nd half. If true of course.
  4. The video is great! So Cool. I really like the stickers that use created for the panels, but I hate that sticker connecting the small panels above the windshield. It just looks like a cheesy solution, especially with that bump in the middle. It would have also been nicer if an actual grill could have been constructed for the alternate model instead of using a large sticker. Still an absolutely fantastic creation.
  5. Very impressive how one model vanishes into the second model. Very nicely done. I agree with Jeroen that this transformation looks better than Paul's model does because the original model completely dissappears. Maybe not the model overall, but definitely how you pulled off the change between both truck and Jeep. Looking forward to the video to see how it changes. From the side view, the tilt/angle in the roof of the original model looks a bit odd though. Also what is the piece that is connecting the 2 small black panels together in the front above the windshield? Or is that just a sticker?
  6. Wait a sec, this is NOT for the contest??? I didn't catch that part on the first read through. To me this seems like the perfect example of what the contest is all about. Like others have said, you should most definitely reconsider and enter it.
  7. Wow. That's all I have to say.
  8. This is a very nice project you have here. Good Luck.
  9. I like your use of the steering ball joint for the front headlamp. Very creative.
  10. I agree that it is very cool, it's actually beyond cool. I love this model and it's design. It's just that I've been looking at the rest of the competitors and what they are building and they all seem to be going for an actual technic approach. This looks so good because of the large use of regular bricks that it almost seems unfair to the other entrants. Jim said the models with must be primarily technic, but this one looks primarily system brick based with minimal technic.
  11. This is one of the most gorgeous and unique models that I have seen in recent months. Having said that, I am not sure how this fits into the technic challenge as the large majority of the model is not technic. There have also been some other people that have been told about taking things off and placing them in other areas, for example your fence that surrounds the model. This model may win or place on eye appeal alone and not so much the fact that it met the challenge while staying within the boundary of the rules.
  12. Good review. I wrote a review on it too. I did mine in Black and Yellow. This model is really a superb piece of engineering. http://www.eurobrick...75#entry2268378
  13. Wow, that is massive. I think the wheels are too small though.
  14. Wow there are a lot of mocs and instructions being sold.
  15. Ok, here is my 2nd Assassin that I have built. I chose to do it in black and yellow. Since there is no yellow bionicle tooth in yellow, I asked Paul for his opinion on how to do the seats and he sent me a picture of how to do the seats with slopes instead, so the credit for these seats goes to him. I honestly think they look better than the original way that are in the instructions, but that is just me. This is probably my favorite car from crowkillers even though the functions are somewhat limited. The gearbox and chassis design alone are worth the price of the instructions, not to mention you get 3 versions that all have a different construction for each model and not just the color swap. The total build time was right around 8 hours for me. I am going to start off with the meat and potatoes of the model, the transmission. Even though the gearbox system is cleverly designed and works so well, if you try to switch gears fast in a diagonal motion like in the 8880, it is possible to engage 2 gears at once because of the play in the driving rings themselves. But then again, I don't know of any other designs besides the 8880 transmission plate and stick that you can even do that on(shift diagonally). The positive is if you do engage 2 at once it is easy to fix since the levers and driving rings are very easy to access. I know that the gearbox is not meant to be shifted like this, but it was just something that I felt was worth noting. The gearbox design in general is quite slick and unique and performs as expected. The suspension both front and back work great as does the steering either with the wheel or the H.O.G. The doors, hood, and hatch all open and close nicely, especially the doors. I do feel that the rear hatch should maybe tilt back a bit further though. Also I got a mail from Paul a few days ago that there was a small error concerning the tan axles in the side mirror area. When I built mine, I somehow built it correctly by accident. In the instructions this error moves the side mirror section out a half of a stud. It is very easy to fix. The best thing about this design is that there just seem to be so many variations to do and the model is quite mod friendly. I am already thinking about my next version to do. There are a lot of nifty little techniques used in this model that I have not seen in any other MOCs and it is definitely worth a build. Not to mention it just looks great. I give this model and is design a very solid 9/10. I apologize for the crappy pictures.
  16. I don't wear hats often, but I'll defintiely take one. Message sent.
  17. Paul posted this on his crowkillers Facebook page a few months ago. He told me that he had it made somewhere. https://www.facebook...wkillers?ref=hl Eric, is this the shirt you were talking about? It looks really cool. (Sorry about the size)
  18. This is only my opinion, but $15 for instructions seems just a bit much for the amount of issues with the model's design that you mentioned.
  19. The functions are pretty sweet. But I agree with some of the others in that the body work isn't the greatest, some pieces just don't seem to flow with others, especially those bent liftarms above the rear wheels. Still very good though.
  20. One question that just popped-up: Why are all supercars either for young guys or empty nesters (i.e. have only 2 seats)? Anyone gave this a thought? Cutting down on weight would be my guess.
  21. Please don't be offended, but IMO your modified model isn't anywhere near as clean looking as the original using all of those beams. It also looks twice as heavy and considering it is motorized, that weight isn't going to help it.
