  1. The car is something different from the norm. It showed some new things that had not been seen before. Sure some people may find some flaws, but I can say it is one of the most fun models that I have ever built. Is it the best supercar ever? I guess it depends on your tastes. It is definitely near the top of my list, if not at the top despite some issues I've had.
  2. That is a great looking car.
  3. If Lego went back to studded beams and parts and did away with the non studded beams and connectors, I would probably stop buying and building Technic sets altogether. I just think that non studded models look smoother and more interesting in their design. Of course that is just my opinion.
  4. The red looks a very futuristic. I think a little overdone though.
  5. While the gearbox is an absolutely incredible design and idea, the downfall is that it really buries the engine into the cab of the car and doesn't allow for a larger size engine than a V8. The front of the engine is already somewhat between the seats now to the point where the driver cannot say hello to the passenger. The wheelbase also feels just maybe a little bit too long. But this is just being picky. I think this will open the eyes of some other builders to come up with clever new mechanical gearbox feats like the Predator has incorporated. While it does take 7 studs of space between the seats, the nice thing is that it is lower to the floorboard where it should be.
  6. The wheels don't rub the arches when going straight, only when steered. The left wheel rubs a little more than the right one does when it is steered towards the right. I even replaced the flex axles thinking maybe they were too short, but it is the same. It's not a major problem, but it is present. I'll take a few pictures when I get home.
  7. I built my model in white and red instead of orange. I loved the build. The gearbox mechanism is great, although there seems to be a little more resistance in 1st and reverse than there should be. I have built and rebuilt the gearbox and it is still the same. The front suspension is very unique, but it seems to have too much play in it back and forth between the wheels which I think is what is resulting in the front wheels of my car slightly rubbing the wheel arches when steered. I triple checked the instructions and I have everything constructed properly. It is doing this when the suspension is not compressed which is kind of annoying when just rolling it around. I have also tore down my model a few times and changed out all of my shocks with new ones and my model doesn't quite rest evenly, it's kind of on a slight upwards angle. I am thinking about modding the rear end because the suspension seems squishy. This has been a great build though. I will post up some pictures tomorrow. Has anyone else who has built their model experienced any of these issues?
  8. I think that is a acceptable solution, but truthfully I have never been a fan of the radar dish in the wheel mod. I've seen many people do it, but it just never appealed to me. I also think it may look better with a black wheel and gray or even white dish inside. The problem with this is that you can see the spokes of the gray wheel behind the dish. With a black wheel this wouldn't be as noticeable, much like when using the Ferrari wheel covers.
  9. You can always get one of those imitation 8145 sets from China real cheap.
  10. Yeah, white with chrome is too much brightness. I think a darker chrome would look good. Paul your chrome person does dark chrome doesn't he? Orange chrome? That might look good. Paul, your passenger mirror is a little off.
  11. Yes, for the high cost of those covers, I think I may just buy some custom chromed wheels.
  12. Sounds like the second coming of the vamp gt. Especially as far as new innovations go with the gearbox, suspension, and other things. Plus it has gullwing doors The Predator has the same kind of gearbox layout as the phantasm right? I think I read that somewhere here. I am even more excited to build this now.
  13. You guys got more excited then ever to build this now. When are the instructions being released? Judging by the chassis pictures, I would say a step "upwards"
  14. This is great news, I have always wanted to build this but never did because of the rarity of some of those parts.
  15. This is definitely going on my list of cars to build.
  16. Paul, I applaud your efforts making the black model easier to build with more common parts, but I agree with jorgeopesi and Rishab here. Even though it is red, I also think is looks the best. It is flat out gorgeous. I hope you will maybe have alternate instructions of this color like you have done with some of your other models. But the crucial question is how many red #3 connectors are in it? I can see a few of them.
  17. I wonder why he doesn't post more often? I would think he would have a lot to contribute.
  18. I didn't know Nathanael was a Eurobricks member. What name does he post under?
  19. You don't have to buy anything, he has pictures of it on his brickshelf folder. It's a little different than yours. My comment didn't mean anyone copied anything from anyone else, I just meant that it looked more like one than the other.
  20. Hey Paul, did you ever see that movie Maximum Overdrive? I showed the video to one of my coworkers and he said it looked like the Goblin truck from the 80's movie Maximum Overdrive, and he's right. I forgot all about that movie.
  21. That linear gearbox design looks a little more like the one from the muscle car than it does the pony car. Good looking model so far.
  22. I've seen a few animated Lego robotic heads in the past, but nothing like this. Very impressive.
  23. Your car is great, I just prefer a more natural Technic look.
  24. This is purely my opinion but I think adding RC to large Lego cars is kind of a waste. The performance just isn't there, especially when they have working gearboxes, you can't really tell anything is happening because they are so slow from all of the weight. When I think of a Lego supercar, I think of of a car like the Kuipers concept car or new predator. I prefer models that have a more intelligent build behind them that look good and solid to ones that move around a bit and have some off the wall functions using a million pieces.
