Amazing modular building you've made there! The exterior is brilliant, so many wonderful details!! I see a lot of SNOT design in and out of the building too which is always nice for a change! Great work and I'm looking forward to your next!! Happy building

I love these, I particularly like today's one, I have that Paradisa set but I don't think it's assembled at the moment!! Well done and keep 'em coming Happy building

There's a very easy way of including a helicopter: Seaworld on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, although not technically a zoo, has scenic flights above the peninsula which it occupies. And every zoo should have a police booth and fire truck on stand by right....?

REVIEW: The Simpsons - Kwik-E-Mart (71016)
timmyc1983 replied to Adeel Zubair's topic in LEGO Licensed
Fantastic review and pictures! You have a great knowledge of the show which I appreciate being a huge Simpsons fan. I got half way through your review and went to LEGO.com and put in my order. The detail is second to none and as you mention there are so many clever references to the show I couldn't wait any longer!! Thanks for the review and happy building!!- 29 replies

Yeah I think Bricklink is your best option. I bought an unopened box of series 12 from one shop a few months ago. Really easy and no problems at all. I recommend Bricklink :D

Why would you change your mind?! PS is an awesome modular. The first one I ever bought and I just ordered a second the other day... Although now I have to wait until the 1st of May for it to be dispatched

Ever since I fell in love with LEGO as a kid (around the early 90s) I have dreamed a zoo theme!!! Even any sort of animal back then was amazing to me, the sharks and crocodiles and then later the dolphins through the paradiso sets!! And when I came out of my dark age, the dog and cat moulds (especially the newer cat moulds) I was absolutely in heaven!!! So yes, a zoo theme would be awesome! And I think most zoos nowadays really promote a much healthier life in captivity than they used to. Many animals which will likely be extinct in the coming decade or two (due to human destruction of habitat 99.9% of the cases) will only be surviving in zoos from then on, they will become an extremely important educational tool for generations to come. And while enclosures, breeding programs and enrichment are all being developed in new ways for zoos to replicate natural environments and behaviours, this is probably the new golden age for zoos and a good time for LEGO to jump on the band wagon to not only make some money, but reinforce the higher importance which zoos and wildlife parks will play in the future of the natural world. Although it is unfortunate that some these animals will only live in captivity, at least there will still be some at all. I'd love to see some 'natural' exhibits recreated in LEGO for all sorts of animals... So fingers crossed

As much as this is obviously now a global forum, the site name is Eurobricks. Sometimes you have to just fall in line... When in Rome.....

Yes!!! While all you guys and gals up there are celebrating the new season of new life, all of us down here are bracing for the damp and cold of the ensuing Winter... (mind you I'm in Sydney, so it's not like a proper winter, but still!! ) In any case, I like the Spring banner, simple but effective -
This is a wonderful modular, you captured the original facade with great affect! The two buildings on its left would be fun to see in LEGO too!! I hope to see this in real bricks one day.... Happy building

Ahh LegoSjaak!! Your setup is very impressive as usual! I can still remember two years ago returning from my dark age and stumbling across your amazing setup in one of your YouTube videos and marveling at not only the setup itself but how far LEGO had come in the many years I had spent in the dark... Not to mention the considerable respect you immediately gained from me (as many other have too in the past two years), just thinking about that time and money yourself, LT and others are talking about, time especially is a precious commodity in today's world and it must be spent doing things we love and enjoy. I think sometimes we take our lil' hobby for granted, we are, after all the lucky ones. We can spend our spare time and our spare money (sometimes even not spare money we shouldn't really spend ) on this wonderful pastime, others in this world are not so lucky. It's important to keep all these things in perspective as we peruse this wonderful forum. As for your impressive modular collection, I certainly look forward to the next installment and will continue to look in wonder and be inspired by yourself and many other on EB :classic: Happy building LegoSjaak and to all!!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
timmyc1983 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The Australian lego.com currently has the GE in stock, do you think it is worth buying one?? It seems they are hard to come by now... -
I think it's not so much the $ value, it's more the comparison of one brick to another. For example, the aforementioned sand green bricks you're looking at a minimum of around US$2.50 each for the 1x8s and US$2.00 for the 1x2s, however if you were to buy these bricks in white you would find them for US$0.20 and US$0.12 respectively. So that's a 1150% mark up from one colour to another for the 1x8s and 1567% mark up for the 1x2s... That's pretty massive... The brick I immediately thought of was the yellow hand trolley used in the Train Engine Shed 10027. The common red version of this brick sells for around US$0.30 whereas the cheapest yellow one is US$15.00 which makes it a mark up of 4900%!!! I'm sure there are other examples of this...

Very thorough and perfect answer from Lind whisperer there, this is how I and I would say the overwhelming majority (correct me if I'm wrong) MOCers go about creating MOCs. The only thing I would suggest on top of that is, once you have your model finished in LDD, ask or find a topic for help with bricklink, there are a few small pointers that will help you enormously including use of a program called LDD Manager which works really well with the bricklink wanted lists. Good luck, Happy designing and building XD
