Hello, this is my first new topic post here, altho you may have seen me commenting :D Anyway, the reason for the post is my MOD of the Town Plan Cinema. I am quite a traditionalist and therefore have not made any drastic changes, i have just made it standard modular size so it fits in with the others, and added more of a back including a second screen. I have seen much better versions out there but i like mine :) Anyway, enough talk... The overall building The twin cinemas featuring the '50 Year Brick' and James Bond. And upgraded snack bar with Pick-n-mix and a fridge... MOre deatiled pics on my flickr stream here: Comments and feedback more than welcome :) Tim.

[MOC] Modular Vortex Bar & Grill, Little Five Points, Atlanta
timmyc1983 replied to toorayay's topic in LEGO Town
this is truly inspiring. The detail on the inside is outstanding! I am trying to design a MOC based on my favorite bar in the world, which is an English pub in Cornwall, and it has similar decor with things all over the walls and wot not, so you have spurred me on to go the extra mile with the detail. Very well done! :D -
wow, really well done! You've managed to fit so much in such a small space, i like it a lot :) and i do like your new layout better than your old one... Both are good but the new one is better imo :) excellent work!

I'm not sure if i'll enter or not yet.... I'm not sure if i'm going have all the bricks in time. What are the rules on modifying a Lego servo?? Mine is a mod of the Town Plan servo.. Allowed??

Hmm yes i only have the PS so far but have the GE and FS on their way to me, as well as a bricklinked CC, and i must say, i am very impressed with this line. If it were around when i was first into lego (90s-very early 00s) i would have badgered my parents 10 fold to get my hands on these! In terms of what they should do next i agree with you with most points. You can't have too many shops or residential imo, as you say, it doesn't get boring because it adds to your city/town/street display. I think a medic al centre/doctor's/dentist's surgery would be a great addition, as would a post office or bakery(altho i have a MOC bakery i am beginning to brick) etc. I was a bit disappointed they released a cinema this year given we have a cinema in Town Plan only 5 years ago (i am opting to modulise my town plan cinema rather than purchase the PC atm) but it still does look like a great building and had i not got Town Plan i would prabably buy it. The one thing i can't agree with your Police station point, i just have sooooo much police stuff already, i don't think i could handle anymore... I think the medical centre/hospital has been neglected by Lego (certainly from when i was first collecting to now, there has only been 3 hospitals), so i would love that to be the 2014 modular release...... Only time will tell me thinks :) happy building!!

I've begun work on my octan headquarters in LDD, and it will be above my altered service station from the town plan. I have just finished the modulising of the ground floor and about to start on the headquarters. Once i brick build i will be sure to share the head quarters, although it's already quite different to your master piece (given it's based on the town plan servo) :D fun times!

impressive! And how apt for the fire dept to have a water fountain in reception haha, nice touch :)

sorry to drag up an old thread but i love this building, the exterior is really well done, and the details of the interior are amazing too. Great building. I was only today thinking about the Octan head quarters and making a modular for them, so weird that i see yours (even if it is older) tonite, it's inspired my thinking! Great work :D
