I really like what you've done with this! And I like how you've kept it quite similar to the original set. I have a mod of my own of this set in the works, I have about 70% of the bricks, just need some more $$ haha But can't wait to see more of yours, great work!! Happy building :DD

That is unbelievably amazing, i am speechless, i have no speech..... The detail and the plates and the detail... WOW! Truly spectacular. Happy building

BAHAHAHA, i actually laughed out loud at that... And i concur, that would be awesome, because it would no doubt be part of a zoo, which is long overdue in LEGO City

MOC: Metro de Madrid. Classic Cars and more

LOL The driver's is just that excited about his job, he's going forward in time!!!! The cars look good tho :D i like the colour Happy building! -
Well i only have the FB and the PS.... But.... I tend to agree with Cwetqo... When i have several sets to build i always build the one i am most looking forward to building last, save the best for last and all that... Between the FB and the PS however, it's very close. The FB is great as people have mentioned, the facade is very unique and the micro builds upstairs are awesome, but the PS's two buildings is pretty cool as well as some of the cool micro builds inside the buildings... Tough choice! Happy building

That's an awesome town layout! But no official modulars that's surprising.... still it's a great layout!!! And that first castle layout is crazy so many minifigs!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing

YAY! I was going to buy it one day anyway, and i think i got a good deal... Thanks for helping to ease my LEGO buying guilt

So I just bought one off bricklink, cos I was worried about the prices sky rocketing... €170, no box but incl. postage to Australia...? I couldn't really afford it but I figure I buy it now, save in the future... Did I do the right thing? Is that a reasonable price?

I saw this modular on flickr a while ago, and was in the same stunned amazement that i am looking thru the photos the second time! And that lift is awesome. I wish i could save enough cash to build this and add it to my city, but i tend to spend all my money on my MOCs hehe But wow, you got everything right, the colour scheme, the details both interior and exterior and i love the pumpkins growing on the top floor, fantastic touch! Phenomenal build. I hope there is more to come! Happy building

No problem, glad to be helpful And the Pet Shop was my first modular too you will not be disappointed, it's a fantastic build and my favourite so far Happy building

I like this layout, and you have ALL the modulars it is spread out which is nice and leaves space for expansion in the future My only comment would be to put some landscaping in front of the Town Hall, maybe a fountain or some greenery would look nice Happy building

Welcome to EB I BL'd my Cafe Corner and am part way thru BLing a Green Grocer. The Cafe Corner ended up costing about AU$400 (US$ is about the same as AU$ atm), i wanted to be fairly accurate with colours etc, and i was relatively inexperienced with BL, so i think if i really tried i could have knocked another $100 off that cost by colour/brick substitutes, AND being in Australia, the postage was an absolute killer, so i suspect being in the US you would be able to save on that too. I have started collecting bricks for my Green Grocer, and again i plan to keep the colours as close as i can. I am also taking my time and ordering bricks with other orders to save on postage (and i'm not that flush with $$ atm). Once again tho, there are substitutions which would make it cheaper (like making the side walls white instead of the expensive sand green etc), but i'm hoping to keep the cost to around $300 incl. postage (this might be a bit optimistic, but still!! ) Anyway, for more info on BLing Cafe Corner this is the link: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=60958&hl= Happy building

I echo most people's posts, great detail with the fire damage and even without it the building is lovely. Very clever all around! Happy building

Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
timmyc1983 replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I won't be saying anything you haven't yet heard, but i have just gone thru all 29 pages and all of your updates and i am absolutely speechless. The work that you have put in to it just spectacular. And it is fascinating to see the project from brick one and see the updates and how you put it all together. Thanks so much for sharing it with us all... I'm still just in shock by the sheer magnificence of the whole thing. Phenomenal work. Happy building -
"The Dark Ages" - How long were you away from Lego?
timmyc1983 replied to Duck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My dark ages began at around 1998 ( i judge this by that year's catalogue is the latest i can find) when i was about 14 and i have just a few months back got the bug again.. Altho, i will say the bug never left; when i was a kid i had a Lego city and loved it, i would set it up and look forward to Christmas each year to add more sets to the ever growing city. But as i grew older and discovered new things, i ran out of time to be with my Lego so my parents made me pack it away and there it stayed for 15 long years, except for a brief period in 2010 when i had a friend staying with me who loved Lego too, we each bought a small City set (randomly enough i bought 7732 'Air Mail' and he bought 7741'Police Helicopter' and now they are both in my city ) and brought some selected sets over from my folks house for us to 'play' with. Also right thru out my dark age, if i were ever in a department store, i would seek out the toys and find the Lego, i just never bought any. And i also knew in my heart of hearts, that when the opportunity to build my city came up again, i would do it in a flash! The reason i got back into it this year is because i have recently been in a pretty bad way (loss of my business and such) and Lego is a fantastic way to not only keep my mind off the bad stuff in my life but also keep my mind active. I started by getting my old town out and re-building it and then discovered the modulars and that was it... hook, line and sinker! The only problem is i now have a major addiction and no job=no money to feed it with But i can see that as being my last dark age, i never wanted one in the first place and hopefully being older i can be in a better position to prevent another dark age occurring Happy building -
yeah i like this a lot. I think the parts on the floor add a great touch too, and the cups on the table next to the computer... I remember he had all sorts of things on the tables strewn around the place. Well done!! I understand it's WIP, but like most i think the wall and the floor could be fixed then it'd be spot on Happy building EDIT: oh and here is the photo in the thread

Hello all! Well the Brixton Valley township has had an exciting couple of months! As mentioned in a previous post, the grand opening of a Cafe/Hotel, as well as the rail network extending their reach all the way around the township for easier transportation around town! Altho the Cafe/Hotel is still doing some renovation on the interior, the exterior is pretty much done, (aside from some painting on the top floor, see if you can spot it in the pics/vid). And some photos: (sorry about the photo quality, some were taken with my phone ) Also, the little town of Brixton Valley has the head honchos of the Octan Energy Company setting up their HQ above one of their service stations, the building is still being under construction and they are waiting on some furniture, but here's hoping they will be up and running soon! You may be able to notice the building in some of the shots/video. Also, there is talk of a new bakery setting up, as well as a couple of other exciting renovations from local businesses, but these are a few months off. Anyway, i hope you all check out my flickr photostream for more shots and previous layouts and the video i have uploaded to .Thanks for looking and comment and suggestions more than welcome Happy building
