Ok, Lego, lets talk business! Modular Legends now!
timmyc1983 replied to Artifex's topic in LEGO Town
Ahahaha hilarious!!!! I've never given much credence to Market Street (like i believe many others haven't), i think mainly because to me it seems like half a modular set. I like the building but the side street seems like a cop out AND there's no interior. Maybe i need to re think and if i Bricklink (which is what you all should be doing to get the retired MOdulars, rather than waiting for a non-event re-release) i would just bricklink the building, which i have seen other people do... -
Thanks for all the feedback everyone I will look into the first floor windows and see what i can do!! I really appreciate the comments though, they definitely encourage me to make more!

Hello all, I would like to present my first real MOC. It is a 16 stud wide modular Bakery, with an apartment above. The bakery sells cupcakes and croissants, as can be seen in the window to attract passer bys, and also sells coffees, cold drinks and has an 'eat in' area out the back. More pics can be found on my flickr stream. (link in my sig. or click one of the photos!) An overall look of the building, the owner seems to have fallen over The owner welcomes one and all to his shop .... Stay for a coffee and a cupcake... And all of the floors separate. Sorry for the poor photography, i'm still getting used to taking photos of LEGO! I hope you all like it! Comments and suggestions welcome (but be nice, remember this is my first MOC ) Happy building

If you really want them you can always Bricklink them. I have done so with Cafe Corner (and added my own interior) and part way through Bricklinking the Green Grocer. It does work out cheaper (esp with minor part replacements) and the finished product is just as good, not to mention the fun you have collecting the bricks from around the world! I can't see TLG re-releasing any of the modulars personally. As great as it would be, people are buying the modulars that are for sale now, and i tend to agree with pinioncorp, there's just too many reasons for them not to re-release... Just my thoughts -
Cool boats my fav is the tug boat, lovely touch with the tyres on the side! Liek real tug boats Happy building!

Amazing build, spectacular! Just the sheer size is so impressive, but the detail is astonishing! I wish I had a) the bricks to build something like this and b) (more importantly) the talent!! Thanks everyone for the extra photos and thanks for sharing! Happy building!

Wow, really impressive work! I'm not surprised it's taken you over a year! My favourite are Thomas' carriages. I grew up with Thomas and friends and LEGO, so it's brilliant to see the two combined :) And that station is stunning, it's a shame you can't finish it, I'd love to see it brick built one day (if you could ever afford to! We all share that pain!!!) Great work and happy building! XD

Awesome! I'm not normally a fan if anything out of minifig scale but this truly spectacular. The amount if detail you achieve in that scale is unbelievable! I can't wait for more updates and new builds :D Happy building XD

There's a city layout I've seen on YouTube (I would post the link but I only have Internet via phone ATM, sorry!) which has a full marching band 'marching' down the street, if you search 'lego city Hollywood' it should appear in the results. Might be good for some tips for you! Good luck and happy building! XD

While i have not experienced this exact problem first hand yet, i have noticed the exorbitant prices TLG charge for their products in Australia. You would have thought a company making billions of dollars profit would be able to work out how to ship their products to all their customer base cheaply, not just the European and US markets. I went to purchase some PF kit from lego.com the other day and when i changed my shipping address to Australia, the prices literally doubled at the checkout point, yet they were giving me free shipping!! I'd much rather pay the standard $45 shipping and pay US prices. It's unfortunate TLG has been bitten by the greed bug...

Haha very cool... and it does make me want to eat chocolate, so it must be a great likeness to the real thing!! The minifig looks like he doesn't know where to start!

I have just this week replaced the red solid stud windows i had in mine with white hollow studs and it looks great, you can barely notice a difference and they are much cheaper!! Happy building!
-
That looks really good, i love the dark blue touch and i agree with replacing the dark green with more dark blue, i think that would make it look really classy!! I look forward to seeing it all in brick Happy building

Wouldn't a "Like" button improve the forum
timmyc1983 replied to Vindicare's topic in Forum Information and Help
I agree with what seems to be a majority: a like button would be a bad idea. Altho i am somewhat anti-Facebook, this is not the reason for my opinion. Like others have said, if i like something here, i like to tell the person why, even if I don't have any way for the person to improve their creation (which i never do, cos i'm too new) i feel a comment explaining why like it is worth a hundred "likes".... And when i finally get around to being able to afford the bricks for my MOCs i want people to tell me why they like/dislike my creations so i can improve my building. A bunch of "likes" won't help me build better MOCs.... And at the end of the day, a forum is for expression of opinion, and there's no better way to do that than with words!
