How Not to Get Killed: A Guide for New Adventurers- Tip #5
timmyc1983 replied to Nightstalker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice guys finish last or in this case get killed first! I know from experience the former (hopefully not the latter!!!) Very good tip, I have been following this series avidly, keep up the great work Happy building P.S. I'm not sure how many bears there were in Historic times, but I'd enjoy a tip involving a bear if you have one -
This is awesome, love the detail in the foliage. Was it on display at the Sydney Brick Show? I really wish I went now, I kept putting it off and then it was over

timmyc1983 replied to Fugazi's topic in Forum Information and Help
Cool, thank you very much for this, i didn't know how to do the different sizes before i read this :D much appreciated!!! -
Yeah cool little scene, I too love to see the classic cars thrown in! And is that Santa I see running with a gun has he been up to no good.....? That bridge in the back is really cool too, does a train track run across that??

Looking great as usual, I love the interiors, they're so detailed (as usual). It's great how you can just knock these up while you're waiting for parts. I seem to spend more time waiting for parts than actually building Anyway, looking forward to the next one, happy building

This is an amazing build! I saw it last night but have had to take my time taking everything in. The detail is incredible, you really have got everything a real hospital has which is awesome, and with such phenomenal detail I've never had a hospital in my LEGO city so this has inspired me to MOC one (one day). I love the roof with the little balcony area, and re: the green tiles, it's funny you say your local hospital has a similar colour floor, as I was thinking that would be the exact sort of colour I would expect to see in hospital Anyway, lovely (enourmous) building, and i can't wait to see pics of your whole city when you can get them, happy building

Wonderful building, I love the sun room out the back and the incredible detail you have managed to squeeze in is commendable! And I also enjoy seeing the 'street' views with your other MOCs, they look great all together. Well done and happy building!

3D Printing
timmyc1983 replied to Bonaparte's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I, like many others have said as well, would still buy LEGO even if these 3D printers became affordable. I am also someone who will buy a CD over going to iTunes and downloading the music. So, although I don't consider myself a LEGO purist, I would not use a 3D printer to produce my own bricks because I would want my MOCs/sets to be genuine LEGO pieces, and not something of lower quality without the 'LEGO' logo on the stud. And I believe there to be many people who would feel the same way, so I don't think LEGO need worry about this technology for the next 10 years, and even after that, their own technology will have improved to make their product even better than it is now, so i think they should feel pretty safe... -
Looking good LT i like the sign, what's it gonna say?? Hopefully those workers know where the edge is, they might fall off ogling that girl otherwise

I've loved this layout since the first post and it keeps getting better and better and i don't mind the 'blank' bits of green, its like it's a public park... although i would be worried about kids or dogs wandering on to the train tracks but overall i love it more with every update!! Keep up the good work and happy building

"This is just like what the Greeks done at Troy..."
timmyc1983 replied to "LL"'s topic in Pirate MOCs
Love it! Great scene and great characters, really well captured. The background, the ship, the waves really well done!!! -
Awesome little MOC there! As others have said you've really told the story so well with the bricks. And it's a good story too! Me thinks the grandfather should only let on to his daughter about that hidden chest under the tree, and hope that her and her son are not swept away with him!!! Happy building!

Thank you I have made a slight change to the first floor windows, per suggestions: I think it's an improvement, would love to know what you guys think

WOW! This is a stunning building. The attention to detail is spectacular both in and out. I would love to see this brick built, but i imagine it's close to 3000 bricks? i think my favourite bit is the piano in the attic, great touch, but the apple store looks so realistic too just wonderful overall

Amazing MOC there, fantastic likeness and a perfect attention to detail. Well worth the time and money spent on it IMHO! Happy building

Yeah i quite like the look of this too, particularly the sand castle. I have some elements on their way from BL to make a little beach in my town, so this would compliment well. And i don't have a crab yet (i only have a decorated tile 2 x 2 crab). Any ideas on if this will be available in Australia? i assume not given it is definitely not summer here!!!

Cool little building, and has a great 'classic town' feel to it!! Looks like it could have been an official set back in the day but has the modern touches, well done!! I'd love to see it brick built. I look forward to more! btw, you can use the hinge tool in LDD to change the orientation of the computer screen, it took me ages to find the hinge tool but it's great!!! Happy building

Cool, I like these my favourite is the one on the left, awesome colouring on it but they all work well, and I like how you've made each one slightly different, with chimneys and attics etc. Great builds!!! Happy building

Means a lot coming from you guys, as I have admired your works!!! Thanks for the feedback Happy building

Wow that's stunning. Beautiful build, I agree with the above, the chain is a wonderful touch. Whoever turned down having it should be kicking themselves now!!!!

Looking good LT :D i like the tiling on the footpath you've done. And i think those builders get their job done super fast so they more time to check out the ladies Happy building
