MOD / MOC - Upper floors interior for Green Grocer
timmyc1983 replied to BraselC5048's topic in LEGO Town
Cool interior there, I have the last pieces of my GG on their way to me, you have inspired me to do something similar down the track! It looks great! Welcome to EB and Happy building -
Amazing microscale build. Having been to London several times, i love the place and I love your model just as much!! Makes me want to jump on a plane and head over right now!! (I wish!!) I particularly like the little buses, taxis etc, they top off the whole model really well. It looks like it could be a London based board game! Happy building

Great building you've made there, I particularly like the upstairs interior, I'm a HP and PotC fan , i love what you've done with them. And the faces on the wall is a great touch Happy building

I've just read the whole story it's great!! Your building is fantastic! Every chapter you have incorporated clever designs, brilliant I look forward to the next chapter!!

OMG, without sounding rude, it really annoys me when people say LEGOs. The brand name is LEGO... It's like sheep or fish... There's no 's'. Drop the 's'!! So that's my rant over. And I say: LEGO: leh-go MOC: Mock WIP: Whip AFOL: A-foll and I don't think I have ever said any of the others out loud

Yes some interesting points raised.. I must admit, my preferences have not changed at all. When I was a kid (I think I was a strange kid given most of the other answers here) I used to relish the build as much as possible and then put that set into my town layout. I would very rarely 'play' with any of the sets, most of the time I would admire the layout or change the layout every so often, so obviously playability was quite low on the list for me, whereas aesthetics was rather high. I never had any trains as a kid. Now, as an adult, not much has changed. I buy a set to go into the layout, mostly modular buildings, town sets and trains, all of which (mostly) look good in my current layout, those that don't I MOD. So once again, aesthetics is the most important quality for me

Thanks for the feedback ya'll, it's much appreciated Thanks! And yeah, i thought of making a modular for each shop, but then I thought, what would I put upstairs from the bike shop, and what would I put in the rest of the pizzeria... Then i thought of this solution.... Thanks LT, yeah I hope the Pizzeria employs competent staff with those stairs

Awesome MOC, I like it a lot. I love the use of the minifig hands and you've used some very interesting techniques elsewhere too. Well done Happy building

Thanks you all, feedback is much appreciated Thanks 'Branolego'! Now that would be amazing: a LEGO Cave!!!! But my layout is under the house, as the house is on slope, the sandstone foundation at the front of the house are very high and the further back you go smaller the space is. Luckily there's a nice big room at the front which I can stand in, and that's where my layout is Thanks! I'd love to see your take on this set!! I had a lot of trouble figuring out what to do with the roof. I didn't want to put just a standard tower on it with the rounded corner, i felt it needed something very unique to set the building apart from anything else, so i came up with the trans-clear brick idea. I'm still not entirely happy with the roof over the rounded corner, I must admit...

Very cool, i like the mini builds on the ride, they look great. I too am looking forward to the brick built version Happy building

Hi all, I would like to share my latest MOD with you. It is a modular with the bike shop downstairs and the pizzeria up stairs. As usual, I tried to stay true to the original set as much as possible. Here are some photos: An overall view of the building The bike shop is on the ground level, plenty of room for new stock as well as a repair room out the back. The middle storey is the Pizzeria, with an all-you-can-eat style buffet and plenty of seating! The top floor has the kitchen but I didn't put too much effort into its interior, but there are more shots on my flickr. And all the modules. Hope you like and comments welcome and appreciated!

Fantastic station and a great home for your Cargo Railway!! There seems to be a hive of activity at the station which is cool and I love the 'meandering stream' and abandoned track, great touches!! Happy building

WIP: Car Museum (10211 MOD) + SNOT plate street system
timmyc1983 replied to ER0L's topic in LEGO Town
Yeah, that's a great build, very museumy with the high and long window span, it looks fantastic! And the SNOT technique for the road/pavement is very interesting. I can definitely see the advantage of being able to choose the width of the road/pavement, and I always check out how each person does it differently, but I will be sticking to the road plates for the moment. Thanks so much for sharing tho, as maybe one day down the track all of these ideas might go into my head and i may follow suit, as i do really like the idea of an entirely brick build city... Happy building -
It sounds like this guy is "one of us", so hopefully he'll have similar thoughts to what we all do. And I agree with most of the sentiments, a facelift would be nice (although I quite enjoy the simple/clear icons used for each section) and some bug fixes would be nice too, but now I used to most of the features of the site, I hope they don't change too much... We will soon see I guess........

Awesome layout, i really respect peeps who can do the whole power thing and make the trains stop and start, esp they way you have!! I also spy some classic sets i always wanted as a kid, amazing overall set up! What a shame you had to tear it down! If it were me i'd have a train permanently in my living room
-
Very nice looking MOC! The wagons look great too, even if they are unfinished. I love the overall look of the train :) Happy building

Thanks for all the feedback guys glad you all like it!!!

Very cool addition, I love the idea of the emergency services working together like that. And the building is enormous! Fantastic, i look forward to the interior of the Medical center Happy building

Ahahaha yes I have to admit I have taken my sticker inspiration from you LT!!! But I didn't want to fork out for an extra 3661 and I wanted a few custom signs on the building too...
-
Thanks for the kind comments, much appreciated I used only one 3661, the extra stickers are indeed my own doing. The building all up is is 2050 bricks
-
Hello all, Here is my modification of 3661. I started out wanting to turn it into a modular building and got rather carried away, so it is a corner modular 32 x 32. Hope you like it, and more pics available on my flickr page (link in my signature) Overall shot The top floor is the manager's office, with the bank vault next to it, of course with the key pad so only employees can enter. As you can see, lots of goodies in the vault. (Unfortunately i'm still waiting for the dark blue tiles to go on the floor) And all the floors. More pics on my flickr account (link below) and comments welcome
