  1. It's to see this coming to life. I tested prototype version on one of our shows and it worked really well. We tried it with 42043 and it performed similar to S-brick. First version was without included battery and X2 mode, but after talking to afols what would made it stand out from current offerings, there was a lot mentioning of passing the limitations of lego battery box and the possibitly to get as much as possible from motors. I did not get any official information, but I suspect that X2 mode uses a bit higher voltage than standard and If this is true, they need to add disclaimer for X2 mode, othervise someone could blame them for ruinig their motors. Application supports simultaneus control of several bricks (it's written on kickstarter page), so it should be ok for big machines too. As was already written, project owner is also here and should clear out some things more accurately.
  2. I just read in LEGO Life Magazine (internal TLG magazine) that they found some 60-80 molds when they demolished old packaging factory this year. Everybody forgot about thoss molds, so they were quite suprised when they dug them up. Most of those molds are from 60's, including some train parts, old style trees etc... LEGO Museum is now tasked with restoring some of this molds and putting them to exhibit somewhere. There was no mention of monorail molds, but it was said sad somewhere that there are also some modls under moulding factory, which is newer. So I guess we just need to wait for LEGO to get rid of moulding factory and we weill see our beloved monorail moulds again. :)
  3. Looks like TLG confirmed trouble with packaging: http://www.promobricks.de/verpackung-des-lego-technic-porsche-911-gt3-rs-wird-ueberarbeitet/16827
  4. Maybe, but look at this: outside box (set box) was only with only slight dent, but one of inside boxes was fairly squashed, most likely by ver heavy book. Set was packed really well, in bigger box andlarge bubbles, but still it seems that inside forces are too big. From that viewpoint, boxes with less "travel" space are better.
  5. You unlock it with serial number of you car.
  6. It's LEGO Fan Media Day in Billund. I still hoped you would get something to take home. :)
  7. Official statement from TLG (Kim Thomsen) regarding gear sequence issue: Thank you to all our dedicated fans for the comments regarding the GT3 RS by LEGO Technic. It is correct that the gears in this model are not sequential as in the real Porsche PDK. This is however, a deliberate decision taken to ensure that we make the best possible LEGO version of this amazing car that both meets our design requirements and gives everyone a great building and product experience. It was a considered decision taken during development that the gears running in the correct order meant that it did not result in a great experience when driving the car. Too many gears are engaged at the same time and smooth running with all those tolerances is just not possible. If you switch the build in steps 267 and 269 the gears will run sequentially, and everyone who feels that this is the better solution should feel encouraged to do so. LEGO Technic really is the ultimate open source design product and now that it is finally available, we look forward to seeing all the 'improved' models our fans create. After all, that is what LEGO building is all about. We hope everyone will have a great building experience and feel a strong sense of pride from creating both our version and their very own LEGO Technic representation of a Porsche GT3 RS. We are very fortunate to have such skilled and dedicated fans that can spot this small deviation from reality and would like to thank everyone for sharing their ideas and expert knowledge.
  8. There may be 10.000 set production run, but they can do another, if needed.
  9. I can guarantee you that NOBODY dictates the way fansites review products. Only in one case (Hoth Assault) they sent some "key advantages" but even there nobody was asked to sahep their review because of it.
  10. While I dislike such embargos in general, I think that hey have some function here. Without them it would be "bloodbath" in fight between various sites on who will publish review first (they always figh for bandwidth and such things bring a lot of it). That would bring us bad reviews (you can not do good one in short time, at least not the kind that Jim or Sariel do) and unfair advantage to those who are lucky that post delivers to thema faster. As it is now, there is enough time to do reviews in normal way and publish with other. I do however agree that some things (unboxing, teasers and such things) could be published in advance, but with strict rules.
  11. Partial publishing of unboxing videos and pics was allowed by TLG (by Kim on LAN) today. I will PM you complete statement.
  12. I'm not worried about driving rings, but wheels and mudguards will be a difficult to get. Both are meant for big cars (1:8) and I dont see next one coming anytime soon. Wheels will be ven harder to get, becuae ot the licence (no LugBulk or similar).
  13. Sticker 3B goes on dasboard, passenger side. You can put either 3A (GT3 sign) or 3B there.
  14. With "no fairground set" he probably meant that there will no new sets in "fairground" series (Grand Carousel, Ferris Wheel, Fairground Mixer). And "winter train" is most likely a train from Winter Village series. As I see it, there are two options: train will be big, with higher pricepoint than usual for WV series and they will skip this years "fairground" set aor train will be still in price boundaries for WV sets (100eur or less) and they are simply quitting fairground series or giving it another pause. I wonder how Ferris Wheel did commercialy?

  16. Sorry, I skipped it. I corrected my original post.
  17. Powerpuller/1:8 F1 wheel is still a bit wider.
  18. It seems to me that offset is as big as possible.
  19. My bet is on ISD of Falcon. And I think that any of those will be made a bit smaller, but even more detailed. I mean, I had MF at home, but after assembling it, I decided not to keep it, because there was really no place where I could keep it.
  20. It seems to be this part in transclear, printed topside, but with inwards printing and positioned with lower side to outside, so you can see print through the "glass". The inner area (where four studs are) is not printed. http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=44375b&idColor=36#T=S&C=36&O={"color":36}
  21. When doing a tour at LEGO Kornmarken Moulding factory, we were also shown the place where they keep moulds. It's a vault like place, where moulds are being very well taken care of and also very protected. A lot o knowledge is in those moulds and in wrong hands it could mean a lot of damage to the factory. That's whay they are being safely disposed off, in an unknown way. After being asked abou monorail moulds, the guy just smiled, but there is onofficial information that monorail mould were to much damaged to be repaired. Ordinarly, moulds last for very long time (they have one mould there which produced 120 million bricks) and are constantly monitored and repaired if needed. For more common bricks, there are multiple sets of mould and they do keep quite a lot of old, but still usable mould in there (but apparently not monorail moulds).
  22. I recently attended official presentation and while I dont have any details, here are main highlights: -Nexo Knights is this years "Big Bang" theme -City is "Core Strategic" theme -Ninjago is becoming "Evergreen" theme Main themes rank something like this (if I remember correctly): 1. Duplo, City, Friends, Nexo, Ninjago, SW 2. Bionicle, Elves 3. Technic 4. Juniors, Classic, Minifigures, Disney, Creator, Marvel, DC, Speed C., Minecraft, Architecture D2C or Shop Exclusive: Scooby Doo, Mindstorms, Creator Expert
  23. Don't worry, there are already LUGs (in France too), which would suit you. True, LEGO requires that for being "recognized" by LEGO, LUG needs to have at least three exhibitions each year. But, if you join LUG, nobody will force you to participate in exhibitions. You can just build, share, maybe attend meeting, whatever and whenever you want. Here you can find many LUGs in France. Maybe you will find, which will suit you: https://lan.lego.com/lugs
