  1. I guess since this topic has returned I should contribute my own "unpopular opinion", which is that I'm glad the smaller sets are coming back. The 2006 wave, I think, was a perfect balance of scale and price, and it feels like that mindset has returned. I enjoyed the hovertank from 2017 or so, but seeing the 2021 wave I'm glad we've got a TIE fighter at 35 GBP and an X-Wing at 45 GBP — not because I particularly want to purchase those sets but because it makes play more accessible to everyone, from those with the money to buy a whole wave to kids who can only afford a small set. IMO nobody needed the Poe Dameron X-Wing with around 750 pieces for 90 pounds or the TIE dagger with 450 pieces for 65 pieces. I understand they must have commanded a higher price to capitalize on the newer movies, but the prices were off-putting. It didn't seem like the sets offered all that much. *65 pounds, sorry
  2. Emily takes a compact from her rear pocket and dusts the mysterious letter for prints. She then transfers several to sticky tape and tries them on the briefcase lock in turn. She expects that some fingerprints are hers and George's and won't work, but she also expects she has picked up the Ambassador's print on at least one sample of sticky tape.
  3. "On the very first day, I received the very same note scrawled on a napkin underneath my drink. I assume Charlotte realized her mistake and rewrote the note to George. Or maybe it is the very same note I received with my drink. Did I lose it? I did get a bit drunk and locked up in handcuffs."
  4. I think as opposed to playing spot the difference between all pairs of steps Like the old-school B-models! Lovely Sometimes when I buy a set and want to feel like a kid again, I do open all the bags and dump the contents into a pile on my carpet ( can feel the ghost of Ole Kirk Christiansen coming for me!) but it does substantially protract the building process. I think the last time I did it was for the 20th Anniversary Slave I. There's a time and a place for everything
  5. "If I recall, it was only a surmise that Ezra was knocked out by a suitcase, yes? So someone might have tried to do him in, that's a layer we should keep in mind." "Have we not searched my room yet? I want to go and see if Georgie dearest has anything he hasn't told me."
  6. Those panels that nestle together to the sides of the cockpit are just beautiful. Congrats on a great build, and thanks for sharing (and making instructions for those who want them!)
  7. I've noticed there's a Social Media tab in the site's navigation bar, but something else seems different. Can't quite put my finger on it but did the links under Portal, Forum, etc. get rearranged?
  8. "Shame we haven't come up with anything yet, except perhaps the thing behind the toilet." "Excellent logical supposition, Charlie! It's quite possible someone has secreted a USB stick somewhere. To that end" Emily disassembles the writing implements in Jack's room to look for gadgetry including USB sticks.
  9. Emily pulls out her keys and tears through the upholstery, looking inside the chairs. "Well of course one of us must be Ezra's helper, otherwise there wouldn't be a mystery to solve." "You seem keen to give up early." @Trekkie99 "Oliver, it doesn't look like there are many of your books here. How does that make you feel?"
  10. Can't say I'm too into this because I already have (and love) the original IDEAS Ecto-Mobile, but I love the rear door & the "chrome" grille. Thanks for the review VBBN!
  11. Emily takes the lid off the teapot and looks inside. "Does anyone on this vessel have any means of lighting a fire? Anything from a butane lighter to laser vision?"
  12. "I have a certain amount of dexterity behind my back but I would really appreciate it if you let me out; my wrists are chafing by now."
  13. "When did Julie Lawry find her way on board?" This time Emily does the duty of slapping the glass of water out of Oliver's hand. It goes smash on the floor and Emily feels a warm feeling deep inside. "My name is Emily Dawson. I'm a lawyer. Has Officer Grace Jones given you the spiel yet? 'You may remain silent but it may hurt your case if you fail to say anything you later rely upon in court. Anything you say may be given in evidence.' Let's figure out what happened here and keep you in the clear, my friend."
  14. You've put an incredible amount of effort into this and it's come out wonderfully. Got some nifty SNOT techniques in there to spice it up a little. Lovely reminder of the one time I briefly visited Chamonix. Thanks for sharing!
  15. "Dear Grace Jones, we have a dead passenger, Alfie, and an unconscious one, Ezra. It's a bit of a Mayday situation, so I'm glad you're here. We've been to engineering and to Alfie's room and to Ezra's room and it's all a bit confusing. I hope you can help us out with anything you know. Did you receive any transmissions from other ships in the region as you made your way to our vessel?"
  16. "Seems like Mrs. Fingerprint Everyone needs to take a look at whose hands are in a bit of a rough state while she's at it."
  17. Can't remember exactly when I first ran across this project but I continue to find it impressive. There are so many creative ideas here, from the skeleton gate logo to the vomiting face and everything else besides. Thanks for keeping us updated, I'm glad the creator of the comic is on board with this, and thank you for sharing all your progress!
  18. "If you keep that up you'll have to talk with Big Z"
  19. "Have it your way." Emily permits Gabriella to take her fingerprints
  20. I must say I'm very impressed by the sheer creativity of this build — I don't think I've ever seen a LEGO Ekranoplan before. That said, considering how sturdy the fuselage & engines are, it looks like the tail fins are on the flimsy side. They're already 2 plates thick so for an extra half-plate of thickness, you could go for bricks and get a nice smooth surface on both sides. Just something to think about. Lovely build, welcome to Eurobricks and thanks for sharing!
  21. "Although I am handcuffed, I can still help the search" Emily bends over and peers at the luggage, looking for blood stains and fingerprints.
  22. Emily stuffs the stun weapon into her underwear in case she needs it later. “Advanced medical equipment? I wonder what that means?”
  23. Excellent point, especially besides the Kremlin and the Seven Sisters I can't think of any more iconic secular buildings in Moscow. Wouldn't mind seeing Dom Knigi & the Medniy Vsadnik in a St. Petersburg skyline, though
