Oh, this is nice! The patterned tiled flooring in the post office is simple yet effective, and I really like the architect's studio on the first and second floors. Its a great idea to have a micro-scale office building in the middle of the floor, poking through the landing above. Very creative, looks great. Thanks for sharing!

Wow! That A-Wing is on another level. Love the effective use of hinges and (presumably) headlight bricks to effect the triangular fuselage.

Ah, very fun! The X-Wing in particular looks great. Just goes to show what's possible even with a limited part palette. Thanks for sharing!

As I've opined in several threads on this subforum, the simpler sets at lower price-points make it easier for kids to buy them for themselves, and easier for their parents to justify buying for the them. I remember having the means as a pre-teen to buy the 6209 Slave I and 6212 X-Wing for myself and had an amazing time building and swooshing them, even though they are by no means perfect. That would be out of reach these days if one wanted, say, the Poe's X-Wing and the 20th Anniversary Slave I. If the proverbial you want a MOC-quality [vehicle] then there's nothing stopping you from making one. Not everything has to be a UCS Falcon, and I'm pretty happy with this set, despite the massive great gaps in the sides due to the wing joints. Thanks for the excellent review!

I'm glad to see renewed interest in this MOC I posted two years ago; it really makes me happy, and thanks for the kind words everyone. Unfortunately I don't have instructions for this, for two reasons: firstly it's a bit of a mess on the inside so I'd need to optimise the plates/beams etc. that form the structure, and secondly it has parts that don't actually exist (the big one is the 2x2 triangular tiles in dark red). Thank you I tried really hard to make this work. Unfortunately, what you see is what you get. I snapped this screenshot in LDD so you can see what exactly is there: In my original post I compare the MOC with the 7965, and you know that set and other playset Falcons are all a bit tall and chunky to fit the interior. I chose not to go in that direction because there are plenty of playset Hawks out there. The price of achieving the exterior proportions was not to have a substantial interior. It's not even tall enough for a minifigure inside.

Don't know anything about it but it looks beautiful - a little chunky in places but overall very nicely proportioned & looking slick.

REVIEW: 10295 Porsche 911 Turbo/Targa
jimmynick replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the review! 100% Targa for me. Will probably get this for my dad's birthday this year. He liked the Mustang so he'll probably like the 911 too. -
Given the pixel art of the Mario games, you could hardly have done better. I agree with the suggestion to tile the top of the cube. I know it's straight from the source, but the way the white question mark pops off the black shadow is wonderfully striking. Thanks for sharing and welcome to Eurobricks

LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle Modular MOC
jimmynick replied to dunkandegg's topic in LEGO Licensed
Ah fabulous, as the other comment says this is a great system-scale take on Hogwarts. I like how you've managed to SNOT the bulbous parts of some of the towers. Good luck as the build progresses!- 4 replies

Imagine it's to fit a magnet in the centre of each square - not possible if you use two 2x4 tiles.

Now, this is nice! Nice build with a great shape, reminds me a bit of the bus from RotS. Well done.

Yeah they are bigger than minifg scale but they do look nice. I like the curvature of the hull underneath the bubble canopy. All the colourways are pretty great. Nice work and thanks for sharing

LEGO Ideas Discussion
jimmynick replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I agree; very conveniently displayed to see what has changed and what hasn't. It's pretty obvious that the main vibe of each set actually hasn't changed all that much (do think you missed the original Ecto-1 though ). As far as the blacksmith goes, yes it's changed but the "vibe" is still very much the same. I actually rather like the bonsai set, even though it's not in the Ideas line. Not sure if I'd buy it though -

Emily opens the dresser. "By the way everyone, I really think George is in some deep Bantha poodoo so I think it would be worthwhile to pile into my room for a search." "Did I successfully pick up any fingerprints? Can Grace Jones analyze them?" -
And you nailed it! An astonishing build, well done. Thanks for sharing and welcome to Eurobricks.

[REVIEW] 75301 Luke Skywalker's X-Wing Fighter
jimmynick replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think it's a fabulous little set at a great price point. I have no need for this one but I like the 3-wide nose, the canopy and the minifig selection. Thanks for the review @JackJonespaw!
