Wooden LEGO Early Toys 1930’s - 1940’s - Question
jimmynick replied to Legoking's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Elspeth De Montes (https://www.flickr.com/photos/azurebrick) might know - has posted pics of a wooden iron recently. Also there's @LEGO Historian on this very board. Good luck!- 2 replies

Looks just as good in the real brick! I really like the pipes and rails crawling all over the boiler. Great build and thanks for the update!

Mystery on the Excelsior - Sign Ups!
jimmynick replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I think life may get in the way for me so if you’d like to keep it at 12, KotZ can have my spot. -
Absolutely ridiculous! Fantastic colour blocking and great engineering to get all the panels to fit together. I love the shapes and colours around the engine - the red and yellow highlights are an excellent touch. Nice MOC and thanks for sharing!

This teaser of a boat is very cute and I adore the simple sail & rigging. I can’t wait to see more of the collaboration this weekend! Thanks for sharing.

Mystery on the Excelsior - Sign Ups!

Never done one of these before. Count me in Bob! -
It's beautiful, very nice. Wonderful study proportions with a tasteful solution to the big grey wall problem: a 'Goldilocks' level of detail. I agree with jtooker that it looks great in situ with the moat - I love the dark green & blue, olive, and pink as splashes of colour. Great MOC and thanks for sharing!

Anyone else find the Mosaic theme boring?
jimmynick replied to jxu's topic in General LEGO Discussion
While true, LEGO isn't the first company or person to have taken advantage of it! Very much so, I think. I'm not sure the AFOL community is the target of these sets - much more Adults Who Might Be Persuaded to Buy a LEGO Set (AWMBPTBALS ) instead. I'd much prefer to stick to my digital bricks building things that appeal almost exclusively to me and that's fine. If someone wants to buy one of these mosaics, it's no skin off my nose is it? -
@Trekkie99 it’s always a riot with you around and Day Five was a bit of a wild ride. I’m so glad there were more role play prizes this time because it made everything ever so entertaining. Sorry I slacked in that regard, though , and sorry to @Darkdragon for killing you off so early. The comics and MOCs in this game have been fantastic (as others have mentioned), major props to Hinck for putting everything he had into the presentation. I was so pleased my headcanon that this game is in the same continuity as The Forest 3 was confirmed by the appearance of spiders!

First visit to Lego Store, USA since COVID-19
jimmynick replied to LegoDW's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I popped in to the Tysons Corner shop in Virginia in July to get a birthday present for a family member. There were 4 staff or so, one of whom maintained a queue out the front door so only 5 or so people could shop at once. A number of sets were EU exports with stickers on the box to comply with US labeling standards. Interesting experience. Professional and helpful staff. -
This is a nice little build - got to love a an 0-6-0T . The cab and tender portion look a bit chunky and out of proportion with the rest of the engine - perhaps you could give it another go using more subtly-shaped pieces. The best touch on this model is definitely the use of magnifying glasses for the front windows. Very creative parts usage and they fit perfectly with the scale. Lovely MOC and thanks for sharing!

I'm also having issues on Chrome. Firefox is fine, though.

Thank you for the fix

Were you inspired by the institutional architecture of any one location when making this MOC? The color scheme is giving me Lincoln Park High School vibes.

You're absolutely right - this has that classic feel to it. I love all the angles you've managed to fit into the castle, giving it a vibrant and active feel. The rockwork is simple and effective, too. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, what a build! There’s so much to take in here and it’s all fabulous. Very well thought out and executed with an attractive colour scheme. The main thing that strikes me is the SNOT corners (apparently these are called quoins) - and it’s great you’ve integrated them well into the system of floors. Vending machines, radiators, the bus stop at the front and the solar panels on the roof - all top off a great MOC! Thanks for sharing!

Really nice build, and welcome to Eurobricks! I love the trans yellow highlights in the guns.

Bob has rejoined the melee! No voting for me on day 1 right, Bob ?

NEW Delta-7 Jedi Starfighter - Minifig Scale MOC
jimmynick replied to Gumbinger's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This topic has only just come to my attention but I’m always a fan of a nice Aethersprite. Congrats on a great build. So glad the introduction of new pieces has enabled better color blocking. Great MOC and thanks for sharing!- 22 replies

Hey there! I see nobody's given this any attention yet so I thought I'd pop in to say it looks like a faithful recreation of an iconic American government building. I think it's great you fit the courtroom in at the back, and I'm impressed how effectively you made the windows turn the corner at the front and sides. I have one nitpick, though, and that's the gap on the top of the roof. Have you thought about how you could improve that at all? Would a piece of white flex tube plug the gap? Lovely MOC and thanks for sharing!
