  1. "Thank you for your kind offer but I think the olives I'm snacking on have provided just enough fats and carbs to tide me over for tonight." "So I've found a king and an ace up my sleeve. Does that mean I win?"
  2. https://www.highsnobiety.com/p/lego-adidas-zx-8000-release-date-price/ There's this monstrosity, too. Much prefer to keep my clothes separate from my toys
  3. "I'm sorry my No. 5 is displeasing to your delicate nostrils. Perhaps I should daub myself in engine oil instead?" "Gosh, I don't recall writing such a note. I shouldn't have asked Arthur for that extra martini. Speaking of which," Emily looks around to see who's working the bar. Of course — still Arthur. "Can you fix me up an amontillado?" The aforementioned martini is still on the bar. Truth be told, she has hardly consumed any of it; the olive is still swamped in a finger of gin. "Oh, I think I watched a documentary about a doctor who was involved in that expedition! Maybe we can watch it together if we turned the TV on. Didn't know you were there, too. Did you think you'd be able to train the Zygons to do tricks?" Emily fumbles her hands behind the bar, hoping to grab the remote, and knocks over a jar of olives in the process. "If I were you, Charlotte, I'd be paranoid about getting up to secret rendezvous on this ship. Who knows what sticky dealings you're involved with, and whether you may need a lawyer to help cover your megablocks." Emily digs into her pocket for a customized napkin, similar to the one she passed to Oliver, and glances at it. A smirk crosses her face, her eyes glaze over, the note goes back into the pocket, and she returns her attention to the half-finished martini.
  4. @Ezra, @Alfie has anything shown up in your cabins like this deathly plushy did in Mr. Mallory's?
  5. I think my most unpopular opinion about the theme is that the best clone troopers are the original Phase I ones.
  6. Unfortunately my collection at present only goes up to 16+. I must have a severe taste deficiency
  7. Looks nice. Figs are definitely the biggest draw. I like the extended bar but the rest of the build itself is a bit... samey, isn't it? Oh, and the Ubrikkian speeder is practically a carbon copy of the one from the 2016 cantina. I do like that we get to have the other speeder in an official set now, though.
  8. Well that's an entirely subjective value judgment, isn't it? And you cannot insist that your taste is correct and everyone else's is wrong. If you find yourself breaking the bank because you have to buy all the 18+ sets LEGO releases, then the commodity fetish has bitten you particularly hard.
  9. You're shifting the goalposts again. You can't slap a blanket "18+ is a good built, baby sets are bad builds" statement on TLG's products. On this forum plenty of people have complained about the repetitive nature of the recent mosaic sets, and those sets are 18+.
  10. I get your point about the lack of exclusive printed parts (I'm thinking back to my Ron & Richard Harris Dumbledore BrickHeadz), but I don't think that makes the builds any less recognizable. Hagrid's hair on the sides, too, looks better than you give it credit for. I know the proof is in the build and I'm absolutely not going to buy enough to get the gift with purchase, but I wouldn't be upset to get one if I were to splurge on HP sets.
  11. Absolutely! I have to think and weigh up prices & appeal before I choose to buy a set, and some of the 18+ sets are downright unappealing to me (thinking specifically of Mickey & Minnie Mouse - they look horrifying!) Absolutely. Exactly, so you can't say "let's be clear" and slap down a definitive spectrum of playability, because there is no such thing.
  12. Emily smiles tightly but with genuine gratitude. "Thank you Arthur, that's very kind of you. Splash of red vermouth, no need to measure it out." She thinks back over cases she has been involved in over the years. "When I was right out of law school I worked on a dispute over mineral rights on Pluto, and our client was based out of New Chicago. Nice town, and I spent my free time shopping up and down Michigan AveNew." Emily suppresses a chuckle and a drop of gin goes down the wrong way. She splutters into her elbow before continuing. "And you know what the problem was? Intra-System mining regulations are defined differently for different classes of astronomical body: asteroid, moon, planet, and microplanet. It's been centuries and these stupid space scientists still haven't properly decided how to classify Pluto! It's a nightmare if you have business concerns there, but absolute heaven if you bill 500 credits per hour plus expenses." "Oh, and as to your question. Boy Georgie often travels to Alpha Centauri on business but this time it's just pleasure. Wedding anniversary, a big treat. I've never left Earth before, let alone the system, so I'm looking forward to touring the colony as well as getting a little nookie in our stateroom." Wide-eyed, Emily looks down at her drink and hopes nobody has invaded her cabin. "Sounds like someone has committed a tort! I can assist you in righting this injustice and my rates are very reasonable." "What do you know about an assassin? This sounds even more dangerous than a plush demon. If you are withholding evidence that has an impact on our safety I may have to file a class-action suit against you and Blue Star on behalf of the other passengers and myself." "Georgie, are you listening?"
  13. It does seem that the Trickster role is a huge undertaking, and not really one to be assigned randomly and so is already a quasi-cohost, as you've already observed. I'm glad I didn't have that headache.
  14. I find this comment interesting because it's not how I think of giving feedback at all, and I appreciate your different perspective! Unless a build is explicitly marked as a WIP I don't think that my response will have any effect at all on the MOC at hand. I hope that my compliments & criticisms are taken into consideration for the next build, but not the current one. I guess it's a bit different in places like the trains community, where builders will endlessly build and rebuild. I do too, and I find it a bit tedious. For me the draw of building is the geometric puzzle and not the hope one day of Making It as a set's fan creator... Yup, this is my motivation for commenting.
  15. "Hope this voyage is a success then so we can get home!" Emily gazes out of the viewing window, fingers turning nervously in her pockets. That's right, in the days of intergalactic travel, womens' suits have pockets! "And he never even brought me that martini I asked for! Can't get good help these days, can you? Garçon?" "The kick-your-butt-into-shape military academy type, or the morning suit and canings type? I myself attended a a finishing school perched on a rock above Zürich. Can't say I enjoyed learning how to pour tea and to iron a fitted sheet, I was much happier shouting down stubborn men on the Intra-System Commerce Review when I was at law school. Of course now I can't iron or pour tea or do any of the frou-frou Swiss school things, which brings me back to the help!" Emily sucks on her teeth. "Oh good! A lighthearted but vivacious interpretation of Colin's visage. I was afraid it would come out more like this:"
  16. I guess I'm a bit late to the news, but as we Architecture fans contend with endless iterations of Big Ben and the White house, over in IDEAS land, the Bangladesh National Parliament has made it to 10k supporters. It's a beautiful structure with some wonderful voids. Personally I've occasionally wondered how one might best translate it into LEGO, but JandJLEGO, the submitter, has done a fabulous job. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/bf4be568-06c6-4608-83d0-b2d10ea4f3f3
  17. It’s good but I think interplanetary travel is even better! It’s so exciting, and I’ve never left home before. I felt terribly lonely sometimes when Georgie was off on business trips while I was at home ironing out the details of this contract and the contract. Fascinating! I once saw a nature documentary about a bird that a third eye on the top of its head to keep watch for predators - I can’t remember its name but I know it lives on Mars. Is that one of the ones you saw?
  18. Movie? I am only familiar with the book. Classic! "Tell me James" - now Tomorrow Never Dies is a good movie. I think I've got it on holo-laser cube back on Earth.
  19. Wow! Amazing recreation of an iconic cover Thanks for sharing.
  20. Oh! Whom haven't I met? I don't think I've given Colin a widdle pat yet, that should be the next item on my agenda. Aside from him... I must say I don't know very many of you well at all! Dr. Frost, Ms. Young and Mr. Mallory all come to mind. Why are all of you on board this fine vessel? I'm here because dear Georgie is taking me on holiday to Alpha Centauri! Me too, daaaaahling!
  21. Ooops, your costume, it confused me. I think I see a TV behind the bar where Gabriella is standing. Can we turn it on and catch the news?
  22. I may specialize in M&A law (that's how I met my darling Georgie) but, Oliver, if you need me to I can dabble in criminal law. If you get nicked for drunk and disorderly during this voyage, just give me a call, OK?
  23. Oh daaaahling, I'm blushing! And Alpha Centauri is out there, waiting for us in the night Chef Baykaaaah, what a privilege to cruise with you on board! I never got the chance to visit your restaurant New Fat Duck when I toured New Old England some yaaaahs ago but now I have the chance to saaaahmple your galactically renowned cooking! I'm afraid I was beside myself over breakfast, but if you're still doing eggs could you whip some up with a dash of caviaaaah, just for me? Say, Ezra, there's only one drink on my table! Is the maaaahtini you're holding for me? Don't mind if I do! What constitutes a successful voyage, Captain?
  24. Welcome to Eurobricks and I hope you enjoy your time here! I'm glad you've coming already bearing MOCs, that's always good
  25. If you like to make silicone/other molds to cast resin figurines (or even custom minifig head sculpts ) you can build a vessel in which to pour the silicone out of LEGO bricks. Can of course customize to all shapes and sizes. Pretty handy if you're into that sort of thing.
