  1. The Milano doesn't need a play feature because it IS the play feature! It fits a few Guardians, it's extreeeeeeemely swooshable, and I even like the color. I don't need the cockpit to explode, or a wing to fall off, or a minifig to jump out of it to enjoy playing with it with my kids. I also like the original Quinjet because it was a solid build that was a pretty fair representation of the source material. I haven't see the new Quinjet to make a similar comparison.
  2. When I read the title of this post, that image of Swayze was the first thing to pop into my mind! Thankfully, this is a great MOC, and not a representation of "The Double Douche", as Sam Elliot observed in the movie.
  3. Sooooo, it's not OK to post your opinion about a set to inform others that it's overpriced for what you get? This is a discussion forum, and it seems like members take it personally when another member does not share their opinions on any particular set. For example, the Hydra Fortress set is overpriced. Does it include a well designed Hydra tank? Sure. Does it include a minifigure in a blue shirt that is supposed to be Quicksilver? Yup. Does it include a Hydra Fortress? Hell no. My kids build bigger snow forts (taking scale into consideration, of course). My point is this: I like to see other forum members' honest opinions on a set, for good or ill, before I spend my hard-earned money on that set. Personally, I feel insulted as a consumer that Lego is charging so much for the Hydra Fortress. I enjoy Lego for what it is and the happiness it brings my family and I when we build together. However, Lego is in a perfect spot now financially as opposed to 20 years ago when it almost went kaput from mismanagement. As a result, Lego prices are rising across the board. Objectively, it's the simple business law of supply and demand. Personally, I think Lego is getting greedy, and I hope it doesn't turn around and bite 'em in the megablocks.
  4. Thanks! That is indeed good news! Plenty of time to start saving.
  5. So, Ninjago 2015 sets have been available through TRU for a week now, and officially released today on 3/01/15. My question is this: whatever happened to the rumor of an elaborate Ninjago D2C set for 2015? The April 2015 reports an exclusive set being released, but I've heard it's The Simpson's Kwik-E Mart.
  6. What an ingenious mod! It's quick, and I love how it looks!
  7. Hey! I know that cat with the beak! It's Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law! That. Is. Hilarious. Now, I have to scramble and find Space Batman's wings, a sweatervest minifig torso, some short legs and make Peanut!
  8. It IS a bit bigger. The figure is posed crouching to fit on the shelf. I need a few Sentinels like this for my collection!
  9. My daddy told me if you play with bootlegs too much you go blind.
  10. Cool! Arthur Curry as lead singer for a speed metal band. Great direction, DC. Can't wait to see the minifig!
  11. Damn! Those look fun, especially the HotRover!
  12. As the saying goes, "Ya can't polish a turd."
  13. Good damn gravy, that's an amazing build! I don't know which little tricks I like more, the maladjusted board shingles on the awning or the drawn pig in the window.
  14. Rules really don't work, as evidenced by posts like this. Ultron kicked it off in this forum when enlightening us about Spidey becoming part of the MCU. After 3 pages of Spider-Man/MCU speculation, a mod steps in, but nothing changes. See, I check on this forum every now and again for any number of things, even for rumours and discussion about LEGO MARVEL SETS, maybe get a sneak peek at new sets revealed at various toy fairs. Unfortunately, movie news and speculation, wish lists, and other tripe is now the norm. I'd rather see nothing new posted in the thread than have to weed through 3 pages of junk to learn there's nothing new. Oop, forgot to make my rant relevant to Lego Marvel sets. Oh wait, I guess I don't have to.
  15. Lego's prices have been rising across the board, not just Super Heroes. Lego is on top of the toy industry now, and they're gonna gouge prices til people quit buying their stuff at inflated prices. $4 a pop for a Collectible Minifigure? $20 for a small Avengers set that has a small vehicle and 2 minifigures? Sure, AFOLs may be able to swing it, but parents aren't gonna keep up with these prices. Megablocks, baby.
  16. Of course Lego would never have produced an X-Mansion consisting of 7000 bricks. However, it could have been whittled down into something more manageable that still maintained the essence of the set, just like the Helicarrier. Somehow, Lego was able to do this before as well: The Death Star. Considering how quickly The X-Mansion reached 10k supporters, obviously there's a demand for it.
  17. Yay. For those jazzed about the Helicarrier, congrats! For those that think it's a ridiculous UCS build with next to no play features, and that Lego and Marvel wasted an opportunity to provide fans with the perfect X-Mansion, lo-ho-ho-ho-ded with minifigures and play features, I feel your pain.
  18. My roster consists of a custom Mystique by someone on eBay, SY's Pyro, and a Minimates Blob. The minimates provide a nice size that fits between standard minifigures and bigfigs when it comes to the bigger characters like Colossus, Blob, Rhino, etc.
  19. I've been considering expanding my Brotherhood roster as well. Thebrickcreator.com has a white version of its custom DC The Flash helmet that I may get for Avalanche.
  20. Whoa...I love that low profile. Well done!
  21. I'm very intrigued by all the new Ninjago sets! More dragons, and more new characters!
  22. So many new dinosaurs to choose from...and all we get is a "D. rex". and a dilophosaurus.
  23. I don't care for a brick built Rhino, but there's the knock-off Bigfig so... The other sets and minifigs sound really good! It's nice to see variant Spider-Man minifigs, and Sandman sounds incredible.
  24. No need to apologize. After all, it is a discussion forum. We're all frustrated with the lack of any legitimate news RE: the helicarrier as we approach its anticipated reveal date.
