2015 LEGO Pirates Rumors and Discussion
Sigolf Brimabane replied to Yawgmoth's topic in LEGO Pirates
Btw... Does anyone know if the female character in the preliminary picture for Treasure Island is going to be the same as the cool lass in Soldiers Fort? Would be awesome with two female characters :D They are pretty rare </3 -
2015 LEGO Pirates Rumors and Discussion
Sigolf Brimabane replied to Yawgmoth's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hmm... I actually can't wait till these sets are out. I've never had much pirate stuff before... Only 6232 (Skeleton Crew), 6290 (Red Beard Runner), 6260 (Shipwreck Island) and 8396 (Soldier's Arsenal). This could be the stuff that gets me into the pirates theme! I think I'll pick up at least one of each set. I do agree some of these look a bit underwhelming, but those new blue coats look great. :) I never had any of those. Maybe I'll get a blue baseplate or two to put the sets on. Do you think these will be available in stores early or late in 2015? -

LDD - Wave Three LotR Set Ideas
Sigolf Brimabane replied to Deathleech's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think if lego ever made this, this would be the most realistic set: Figures: Éowyn, Théoden (maybe), Merry (Rohan gear), Pippin (Gondor gear), Gondor Soldier x1, Witch King, Orcs x2, Fell beast Machines: Grond, Ballista (small flickfire missile one) Structure: Minas Tirith gate Name: Pelennor Battle (or something with Pelennor at least). Or else... Enemy at the gates :DDD Your design is fantastic, though :) -
Dragon Knights Submerged Tower Lair

I agree, the back looks a bit plain too. Maybe it isn't meant to be viewed from the rear, but it's always nice making all sides look good :) -

Lego Castle 2013-Present Value.
Sigolf Brimabane replied to The Chosen Minifigure's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's a difficult question. Dragon Mountain is awesome of course, since you get a dragon pretty cheap (if you like fantasy stuff), and there are some cool parts in there for mocs. The King's Castle is a pretty cool build too, since you get some good parts for building castles, and you get the golden sword. (If you are after minifigures, you'd want to get at least one or two of Forest Ambush (four minifigs in such a small build, for a good price)... The set itself isn't very funny though). -
Cool Mongols :) I don't know an awful lot about them but those pieces look very fitting for them.

Aye, it was a common mosaic pattern in Greece and Rome. An ancient symbol that exists in almost all cultures. Vikings and Anglo-Saxons wore it on brooches and carved it on combs. :) The pattern was really difficult to produce in lego x) Especially in the corners where it turns. Thanks for commenting :) Yeah, that's a good point. I hope I can get some white bricks and maybe try building a smaller house.

That's a great Roman army you've got there! :)

This is a humble Roman Villa that I worked on in LDD for a while... I never finished it but I am quite satisfied with it, so I'd like to share it with you. I would love to build it in real bricks, but I don't think that will be possible anytime soon. When I stopped building the piece count was over 10,000. And if I ever built it in bricks I'd want to make an interior and have figures. Without further ado, here it is: Pattern on the ground in the garden: Closeup on the wall (inspired by Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome):

Great as in both large and good. I like the different roof techniques and the statues and all the activity inside the keep. It's cool with water inside! It's a good size too :) I'm not sure if I like the texture on the walls though, the colours make it look odd somehow (but I'm a bit colourblind so maybe I see it differently ;) )

[GNAR] Ormr hinn víðfǫrli
Sigolf Brimabane replied to Sigolf Brimabane's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks guys. Definitly one of the best things I've built. I looked at lots and lots of pictures of viking ships, and also took inspiration from... I think it was Captain Green Hair's "drakar" ship (which is much better than mine, and also very different, but they both look really good). I think I will try to get a picture of my ship with the sail taken down some day. @Mccoyed: You should really build one, it is a nice display piece :)- 26 replies

Hello & asking for set recommendations
Sigolf Brimabane replied to Davidbarrena's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I am not sure how easy it is to come across it nowadays (it was released in 2012), but The Battle of Helm's Deep is already a classic. I got two of it and regret not getting more of it... It has lots of grey pieces and some really cool figures. -
My wish list would be: Structure to add to dragon mountain (not sure what kind though) Smithy to add to the castle

What a nice ship! The shape is beautiful. Probably my favourite so far in the GNAR :)

It's delicious with strawberry jam or cherry jam :) You can also buy it with different flavours (like blue berries) (All Scandinavian food seems to be "fermented", haha... Like the herring)- 26 replies

Thanks for all the wonderful praise It's the first time I've ever finished a ship-build x) I've tried a few times without being able to finish, so I'm glad it turned out this well. Too bad I didn't have a striped towel for the sail so I had to use a piece an old Lucia-dress and dyed it in coffee.- 26 replies

Thank you :) The language is Old Norse (I'm an amateur student of Old Norse and Old English in my spare time so I like to write stuff in it...). I think it fits well with Mitgardia x) The name of the ship is pronounced something like "Ormr hinn weethforli"- 26 replies
