Danke schön, PsyKater! :D Bist du schon mal in Schweden gewesen? Ich würde gerne nach Deutschland fahren, eine Freundin von mir hat mir gesagt, daß Berlin eine sehr tolle Stadt ist. Vielleicht fahre ich eines Tages dorthin. :)

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Sigolf Brimabane replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The Corsair ship will definitly be the most boring set :( And another regular Aragorn would be a waste of money... And another Gimli and Legolas too... :0 The figure I hope for the most is Éowyn, and maybe Aragorn in his kingly armour. And the Witch-King :D- 7,499 replies

Well, I have the privilege of living at home while I study, so I don't have to take a student loan. But even so, the going to university is free. And there is a thing called CSN (Centrala Studienämnden = Central Studies something...) from which people who study get money xD Though you have to apply for it, and if you don't pass the exams and so, they won't give you more money. It's to help us with buying bus tickets and school books. My 2,800 SEK a month is 420 USD :) But bus tickets for a month is 670 SEK and the books for the new courses can be expensive too. But it's a nice contribution to my small wallet EDIT: While writing this I forgot that I was gonna write this: Bought Helm's Deep yesterday. Was gonna save it for the Yule Eve but it was impossible to keep our (I and my brother) hands off it, so we assembled the set and it must be the best LEGO set we've ever bought. It's really nice that you get TWO cloaks for Haldir! :D Now we would need a good way to get an Urûk-Hai army to go with the set. We only have the ones from the set and those from the set with Éomer which in Swedish is called "Uruk-Hais Armé" (The Army of the Uruk-Hai)... And like so many others we put the wall-piece from the Éomer set between the gate-piece and the exploding wall piece

Hello, I just recently became a member myself but welcome indeed thou art :)

Thanks for the warm welcome :) Mazin: My lay is called Kvädet om Sigolf (the lay of Sigolf) and it is about the coming of Sigolf to the world, by gods of Asgård conceived. He's sent to earth to be fostered by king Sigmund of Viken (nowadays called Bohuslän, on the west coast of Sweden) who himself has no child. He waxes and becomes a bold and brave young man, with strength unmatched. Then comes a herald from the Northland with bad news. The fair princess Sighrist is taken by Brime the dragon and no man has been able to save her. Then of course Sigolf is the right man for the mission. So he kills the dragon and saves the princess and gets to marry her. Rather standard but it involves a dwarfin smith and a magic ring and Sigolf's killing of the dwarf and the dwarf's cursing of Sigolf... and it involves some of the dealings of the gods and so... and the story goes on with a Danish invasion of Viken and Sigolf duels with the Danish king and then a battle and Sigolf saves his land but dies from the wounds... and yeah... Here are some parts of the end of the story translated into English, still following the metre of the original Swedish version: 'When soaked in blood his body was borne by housekarls stout within the mighty walls his wife burst into tears; cried and crawled the queen and crept upon her knees ---------------------------------------------- His body bathed and bound in cloth by maidens, missing their mighty thane ---------------------------------------------- Was built for the bold one a bale to burn, the haleth who died the haleth's death. Brought forth were, bright, the bronzen lures. The horns let hear the high-born swains; the doors of the dead, death-home opened. With kindled twigs trodded tall-waxed warriors, the brand set ablaze: the bale now burned. To shimmering shield-thacked shining hall sent was winner sword-wielding, whetstone-grinder, the shielder of shores by shieldmaidens chosen.'

Yeah, it's really true to the Elvish armour in the movies! Gold pieces in general are very nice to get by :) I saw one on a Swedish auction site (similar to eBay), but he was 159 SEK ($24) so I figured it wasn't worth it... But I might not get the chance again :(

Vad trevligt med andra nordmän här! :D

I say: Elrond. I haven't been able to get one myself, but I really want one. He could, with a change of face, be any one of the Elves of The Last Alliance. Maybe even Gil-Galad, with the spear Aeglos!

I'd like to see some Norse gods. For example: Odin - with only one eye, and with his spear, Gungnir, that pierces everything. Maybe with a pointed grey hat and a beard... But he would look just like Gandalf (who must have been based on Odin), only with one eye. Thor - with Mjölnir, the hammer of Thor. And more true to the actual myth than the film hero is. That is: red hair and red beard, and with his Power Belt (Megingjörd), and his iron gloves with a grip that never loses anything. Other things which would be really fun to have in a set: Persian Immortal warrior, with a bow or a spear. Swedish Carolean Soldier, with a special sword and a musket. And a tricorne hat. Janissary of the Ottoman Empire.

Hallå allihop! (Hello everyone (allihop = all-in-heap)) I'm from Sweden, and my real name is Per. My account name is taken from a fictional character of my own, 'Sigolf Brimabane' (Sigolf = Victory-Wolf, Brimabane = Bane of Brími (a fictional dragon made up by me)) (his Old Norse name is Sigólfr). Sigolf is the hero of a long poem/lay that I'm writing. My favourite LEGO sets are Lord of the Rings and about every medieval set that's been released. Especially I like Dragon Masters (I believe it was called... With Basil the Batlord). My avatar (profile picture) is one of my Dungeons & Dragons characters. He's called Arminius. I hope we'll all get along fine here :)

Oh, thanks :0 But it seems the Euro-countries have cheaper too... Maybe it's got something to do with those currencies. But then I don't need to feel ripped-off when buying lego, though it is difficult while studying to afford it... But then again, I get 2,800 SEK in "study contribution" (don't know if that's correct, but in Sweden, we get money when we study) every month, and it's free to go to the university so I can't complain.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Sigolf Brimabane replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah, not to sound... well... But I would rather see a Persian Immortal or a Swedish Carolean soldier :3 I'm not very interested in African civilisations, though something from Carthage would be cool, to go with the ancient Mediterranean figs. And we've got the Egyptians already. Ancient Middle-East/Oriental would be cool, something from Babylon or Persia. And also from the Turks/Ottomans: the feared Janissary! But in terms of including figs from all the corners of the world, then yes, there are not very many African ones, that is true. -
There are quite a few places with LEGO here. Webhallen seems to have the best offers, but compared to all prices I've seen here, they too are overpricing. BR and Lekia are extremely expensive. I've seen the Helm's Deep on tradera.com (similar to eBay) for about half the price of Webhallen (1099 SEK = $166.5, while the auction on tradera starts at 500 SEK). But that auction ends in five days... Other places seem to sell Helm's Deep for up to 1299 SEK. I haven't had time to check Toys 'R' Us yet, but I wouldn't expect them to be cheaper either. Maybe the best option would just be buying it from abroad? EDIT: Just checked Toys R Us, Helm's Deep is 1399 SEK... That's $211.95... And even the tiny Gandalf Arrives is 139 SEK, which is $21...

Thanks, then my suspicion was right. But the sad thing is, you won't get it cheaper than 490 SEK here... It's the cheapest I can find. I've seen it elsewhere for 590 SEK and up to 8-900 SEK... So Sweden is really a bad country for buying LEGO :( By the way, cheapest Helm's Deep in Sweden is 1099 SEK... It's 166.50 USD... That's sick :(

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion

The coolest of all would be Éowyn vs. the Witchking of Angmar : ) An Osgiliath set would also be awesome, with a Faramir who can marry Éowyn, and lots of good bricks.- 7,499 replies

I must be a total douche, but I'm not very excited from seeing the Hobbit set :S Maybe because there are so many dwarves, of whom I'm not too fond... My brother is getting the Mirkwood piece, and I was thinking of the Goblin Town (Goblins are my favourite fantasy creatures), but the Swedish prices of EVERYTHING are higher than everywhere else, so I might just buy someting small... I haven't seen the barrel escape in Swedish web stores either... That would be a nice set... Tomorrow, though, we are buying the Helm's Deep set of LotR, for opening on Christmas Eve when Heimdallr comes with the presents... Haha :) I would I had lots of bricks so I could expand it like some people have done :( Already have Moria, Amon Sûl, Gandalf Arrives and the Uruk-Hai army... The orc forge would be nice to have... But it's 490 SEK (74.31 USD)... Is that too high a price?

I should say that this is one of the best things as I have seen! I would I had as many parts as thou hast :S Where doth one buy separate bricks? Only American sites, I guess...?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Sigolf Brimabane replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Haha, but he could! :D Well, thou art right... There haven't been any ancient Egyptians except these two from CMF, have there? So it would make sense to do some more REAL Egyptians, not just mumies (how do you spell it? It's "mumier" in pluralis in Swedish, but it looks awkward in English with only one m) -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion

It seems like it... They weren't very original xD What I would like the most of all things from LEGO would be this: Swedish Carolean soldiers, from the early 1700's. My favourite era of the Swedish Empire. (I'm a Swede). But I hardly think that the Danish LEGO would make a Swedish Carolean "kicker-of-Danish-bottoms" Soldier :(- 1,076 replies

There have been done figs from Africa... Egypt, TWO of them. :) The Pharaoh could go to war, and the queen has a deadly snake to toss onto her enemies :) (build yourself a chariot and equip the Pharaoh with one of them crooked sword thingies from Pharaoh's Quest, or a bow) Edit: Of the civilisations you mentioned, the Persian Immortals would totally be the most badass! They could wage war against the Sparthan figures. -
REVIEW: 71000 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 9
Sigolf Brimabane replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I must get my hands on: GAIVS IVLIVS CAESAR - at least 2 of them, the toga is awesome. I love all the antique figures. Eva Braun / Hollywood Starlet - it's impossible NOT to see her as Eva Braun (Mrs. Hitler)... I love the hair so I'm getting one. Knight - must have one of these Cyclops - I'll be getting one Lady Marion - cool figure, not a "must have", but still quite nice- 171 replies
