I think it's quite bad for lego to produce such a faulty brick. The quality is supposed to be the thing that separates them from the clone brands. Still, I can live with the piece I got. You don't notice it unless you know that it's there.

Uprisings were part of those times though, hehe. But they wouldn't really be possible here. -
2015 LEGO Pirates Rumors and Discussion

I kind of get doom vibes now... All this stuff about the sets selling badly and only appearing in select stores or online. In Scandinavia, BR is the only store that sells them (unless there are official Lego stores as well? None in Sweden yet though). Will this be the last time Lego releases a pirate series? :( -

I've seen the Götheborg reconstruction many times when she lies to port in Gothenburg. ;) She is a beauty. One of my ancestors rowed out to the ship and looted it when it sank, haha. The shame of his looting apparently lived on for a few generations. -

Aye, it makes perfect sense : P Some people would skip the "att" though. But it can be there. -

Hmm. I guess your reasoning is good. I as a Swede don't really have any personal emotions to that era. Some people might have. All my ancestors from that time were fishermen or farmers, apart from one who was a royal privateer. -

Ich bin Lehramtstudent : ) Ich werde Schwedisch- und Deutschlehrer werden. Oder Seeräuber. I guess I should stay on topic and stick to English, haha. Unfortunately there is not much to discuss in this thread anymore. We need confirmation for the UCS set. -
[WIP] The Black Seas Bounty (name will be changed)
Sigolf Brimabane replied to Sigolf Brimabane's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks for your comments. Yeah, I have been searching for another one of those curved red bricks. I KNOW that I have four... but I can only find three. I am kind of running out of red ornamental bricks x) Any suggestions for a better name? And suggestions for what to do with the stern? (Forecastle?) Also... I think I might rebuild it some time and add the loose floor board from the Brick Bounty. I really like that feature and there is a lot of waste of space as it is now.- 4 replies

Das möchte ich auch wissen x) Vermutlich liegt er noch im Rhein. -
I would also suggest building a ship from scratch. Otherwise it will probably be too similar to the IFS. But you should keep the hatches on deck. Or make better ones. So you can have a crane and load things in and out of the hold. As for figures... Have you looked at the torsos of the Hobbit figures in LotR? Some of them have great civilian clothes. Could make a rich merchant out of one of them. I think Rodney Rathbone in Monster Hunters has a good civilian torso as well. But it might be too modern. I don't know when they started wearing ties...

So I decided The Brick Bounty didn't satisfy me enough as a ship. So I took it apart and built a new one. At first I was going to see if I could keep some of The Brick Bounty and just improve it. But in the end I used quite few of the parts from the ship and instead picked parts from the rest of my collection. I also added one of the "end hull pieces" because the ship was too short and too low. The ship is almost finished, only some details left. But there are things already that I would like to improve but don't know how. My brother is giving me too much criticism about the cabin sticking out too far over the hull piece (I would like to hear your opinion about this!). I am also not very satisfied with how the sails are attached. Those masts don't really seem to be made for the Brickbeard's Bounty sails (which I bought second hand). You can probably see where I got the inspiration from! See if you can spot all the good updated Black Seas Barracuda details : D One detail I kept from TBB was the crow's nest. I think Redbeard will be in command of the ship. I will see if I can get some vessels for captain Brickbeard and captain Neckbeard (the CMF captain xD).

I'm from Sweden, and I have the wrong head. I also have the flaw in the hull. I bought the sets from the Netherlands though, and don't know where the shop got its supplies from. I'm satisfied with the wrong head though, I think the correct head looks a bit ugly.

Brethren of the Brick Seas Poll

Hehe, trying to start a rebellion, are we? I don't really like the "faith" part of Oleon as I am a heathen. But I guess they should have a church-like institution, which resembles "insert name of institutionalised religion here". Would be great if they have a cardinal who is scheming against the king/emperor. :) -

Yeah, I don't think there's any reason to make colonialism seem better than it is. I only own and like yellow figs anyway. Well, I have some fleshies... But it just doesn't feel like lego. The French were "better" to the natives in America, but "worse" than the British in Africa I think. I guess it would be difficult making a MOC where one side rescues a slave ship or something, if the other side don't want their guys to be slave traders. Could have some rogue Eslandola merchants, haha. But with these Imperial nations, there will be dark stuff like slavery, poor conditions for workers, etc. The beginnings of the industrial revolution and such. Sorry for speaking about real world history now. : P I've already started building a town for my bluecoats. That could be their home port. It will have the name "Puerto del Lobo" (from the 1997 game "Claw")... But I guess a French name might suit them better. -

Oh btw, sorry for doubleposting, but I think a few of the Hobbit torsos from the LotR theme will make excellent citizens in the BoBS towns. :) -
Brethren of the Brick Seas Poll

I voted Oleon. But I'm not too thrilled about the names of the factions. What is the reasoning behind them and what do they mean? I like to call the Bluecoats "Brique-France" and the Redcoats "Brick-Britain/England". But those are really bad as well... It's hard to choose between Blue and Red though... And Pirates. I can include them all anyways. Whenever I get the time and bricks to make any MOCs. The problem is that I want to build on a pretty big scale, and I have very few white and tan bricks. And I need white and tan. I also have very few palm trees and tropical foliage. EDIT: I should get some Islanders as well... Could show the darker sides of the Reds or Blues by enslaving them. But I guess that's a topic that should stay out of the lego world? -
174B Earlier this year I decided I wanted an Imperial Flagship. It's very expensive even for a used one... So I decided to see what I had at home. It turned out I already had most parts. So I ordered the missing parts and sails and I think I got away at around €100-150. Due to the price of some parts I've had to swap colours, mostly the masts and the dark brown parts for which I use black. The dark bley fence pieces are also swapped for black ones. Sorry for the bad pictures. Battling against my newly acquired Black Seas Barracuda:

Don't do that, Hive xD I won't speculate. But I hope for a smaller Bluecoat ship and a land structure... Maybe a pirate hideout or an Imperial fort. -
There is one of the new "swivel guns", new oars and a dark blue boat. But the mod looks cool : P Wish I owned some of the old stuff as well.

It's a pretty nice ship :) Will also try to make a bluecoat ship someday. Might I suggest you turn the flags forward, though? The wind will be coming from behind.

I got the wrong face at least. And I'm happy with it. :) -
I built the BSB shortly after building TBB and wow... what a difference it is! Having a deck on the ship really is something special. And all the hatches and cannons. The cabin's interior is better in TBB though. I have ordered the sails and the last big flag for BSB so I'm looking forward to seeing it complete. Four cannons, two big flags, two small flags, eight minifigs... they spared no expenses. My vote in this thread still remains for TBB over BBB because I don't own BBB. But even if I did I might not have voted differently. I like the colours and big flag on TBB more than those of BBB, and for me the minifigs are more important. Actually it might be a tie in the end. Both have some really good sides and some very negative ones.
