  1. Do Asian Americans actually find it insulting or do you only think that they do? I mean, it's a pretty harmless Indiana Jones ripoff. In the earlier Adventurers sets the evil bad guy was "Baron von Barron", clearly an evil German. And in the Vikings lego they gave us extremely stereotypical Vikings with horned helmets and whatnot (I'm used to my history/culture being used for stuff like the Thor comic and films, but it's just toys). Anyways, to stay on topic... A China theme would be pretty awesome, but I guess I would have appreciated it more in my Japanese phase a few years back. As a kid I remember I wanted the Chinese sets from Orient Expedition because of the cool Chinese figures with the hats and all that. I do think it will be difficult for Lego to make a China theme because Chinese history is very unknown to the west (and the west is unknown to China), so it won't be instantly recognisable. In any case, they could make it a standard castle theme with a castle, catapults, gate-houses and a princess being kidnapped and of course have a dragon in it. It would be cool (although I probably wouldn't buy it) if they at least did a Terracotta Warrior figure in the CMF range.
  2. Riktigt imponerande! Looks pretty plain at first sight, but those angles <3 Love it :) The landscape looks really organic and "alive". I would have liked a few guards patrolling the walls, though.
  3. Yeah, it was a nice touch when you got to name them as a kid x) The names I used were pretty unimaginative though, I guess... "Lejonriddarna" (The Lion Knights = Royal Knights), "Fladdermusriddarna" (The Bat Knights = Fright Knights), "Drakriddarna" (The Dragon Knights = Dragon Masters) etc. Edit: In the Royal Knights faction, these were the names for the individual guys when my brother and I played: Kung Arthur (King Arthur) = http://www.bricklink.com/ml/cas060.jpg Rikard Lejonhjärta (Richard Cœur-de-Lion) = http://www.bricklink.com/ml/cas063.jpg Prins Valiant (Prince Valiant) = http://www.bricklink.com/ml/cas067.jpg We also had a second King without a cape that we called Prince John... x) Among the Fright Knights, we called the Bat Lord "Greve Fladdermus" (Count Bat) and the witch "Matulda"... :S
  4. Loving the Gandalf army, höhö. Deathleech's forces are amazing. I can't afford army building like that, but I have a small troop of custom "modern" Black Falcons to show some day.
  5. Hmm, I'll be boring and say Black Falcons (I was born in 1993 so I didn't get any of those of course, but I bought one from a friend when I was little, for 10 SEK, which is about 1 Euro today)... Have gotten a few more recently off Bricklink. I also love the Wolfpack and the Fright Knights. Kingdoms was an awesome range of sets of course... and I actually love the new Lion guys. But I'm hoping for a return of the Black Falcons or Wolfpack. :) I might post my Black Falcon "army" soon.
  6. Bought one Mirkwood Spiders about two weeks ago. Have two more on the way. And a Bricklink order too.
  7. I think the Gondor soldiers should use the Roman tower shield, and something like this helmet but modified:
  8. On the verge? It's been out since last year. There's an expansion (the Forgotten) as well (it was at first a fan-made mod but it became popular and then it was made an official expansion.) It's great and I advise everyone to get it :)
  9. Aye :D A set with Galadriel would be cool... Like, a Swan boat, Galadriel, Sam and Frodo (only because he HAS to be there...). They can throw in an elf, Celeborn and Boromir too :)
  10. Éowyn. (preferably an armour version rather than a dress version...)
  11. I'd go for 7037. You get three orcs, a shield and a banner, in the wheel you seem to get no shield, but three orcs and a banner... The wheel has a lot more parts though, but maybe not as generic castle parts as the tower. It's a tough choice. I'd still go for the tower I guess, looks cheaper too. I hate choosing so if I were you and had the opportunity/money, I'd get both :)
  12. Really starting to like these guys x) The retro style is great! :) A pint of bitter please, Fool! :)
  13. Really great and detailed moc :0 Stunning! Love the woodwork :) SORRY FOR GOING WAY OFF TOPIC: My only complaint is about the "ye" :( I hate seeing that because a lot of people think that they actually said "ye". It has been "the" all the time. When they started printing books, they had no "type" to represent the old letter þ ("thorn"), so they simply used Y to represent it. So they said "the" but spelled it "ye", which has caused misunderstandings in later years. The word "the" comes from the Old English "sē" (the, that). It later became "þē" and in Middle English it had replaced all the former Old English forms (sē = masculine, sēo = feminine, þæt = neuter) that distinguished between grammatical genders. There is a word that used to be spelled and pronounced "ye" and that comes from the Old English pronoun "gē" (you (plural)). The Old English pronouns were: ic = I þū = thou hē = he hēo = she hit = it wē = we gē = ye hīe = they
  14. Another 2 Forest Ambushes and 1 Dragon Mountain. I am waiting for some sale before I buy any of the new Hobbit sets.
  15. Nice build by the way :) A good representation of the movie scene.
  16. Correct spelling is Minas Tirith. I don't think you can edit the title yourself though.
  17. It's not murder if you kill bad guys (y) Cool minifig posing :)
  18. Woah... Didn't know that :/ That makes Beorn pretty useless D: I want at least two of Laketown Chase for the shield(s?) on the boat. I want to use them for an idea that my brother and I have. The problem is that the set is so costly.
  19. I just noticed something really nice. Beorn's hairpiece can be used to build the Barbarian from Diablo 3 :)
  20. I was also wondering why this doesn't get any comments. It is a splendid throne room (something I've wanted to build for a long time, so this will surely be of inspiration for me). I love the mat on the floor and the floor patterns. The walls and the windows are great :) I'd like a close up on the throne, though!
  21. Your MOC has really improved! :) Lots of good things going on there. Your minifig posing is great, and the style looks better and more original than in the first version.
  22. I think Kabel is right, I'm afraid. But I like those plants at the walls :) Remember that barracks are basically just military houses with a wall around them and maybe a watchtower or two, so make sure you include a little house where your warriors can rest after their hard and arduous training exercises :)
  23. I'll start playing AoE right now then x3 Eh... I also need to update my character and stuff for book II before I start building my AoM build I guess. And let Legonardo build! He might get so excited he joins Mitgardia in the end x)
  24. That's a neat target :)
