I don't care of we get more SHIELD or less. My Marvel collection is based on the MCU for the most part. Future minifigs have to be able to mesh well with them. Even the SHIELD sets had Asgardians in them such as the Cosmic Cube Escape. I agree that MODOK has always looked stupid. Give me some of the X-villians or more variety in Asgardians please.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Blakstone replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Facebook now has the alternate builds. WooHoo. All three alternate builds look great. I will definitely get the castle and the recycling truck. The recycling truck looks as good as the current version (that I don't have) but the minifigures push it over the top. https://www.facebook...oto_album_reply- 2,626 replies

[br] Here is my entry. Santa on his eight legged horse Sleipnir. It is a statement on the origins of Santa Claus. Since this was luckily a raffle, not a contest of merit, I felt able to attempt something ambitious. I was unsuccessful making a brick built horse head in minifig skill or even the underpinnings for the horse helmet.

I do want Army Builders like Star Wars has but we have also had Mirkwood Elf Guard polybag and it seems we are getting a Laketown Guard as well. The different between polybags and the actual sets is that there are no new character designs for the polybags.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Blakstone replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I asked on the LEGO Facebook page and the admin said the photos are coming soon. I agree as I am on the fence about buying the current recycling truck for my modulars. I like the minifigures in TLM set but I don't know if the regular build is as functional as the current set.- 2,626 replies

You guys won me over with your argument on Beorn's hair. It is how LEGO did the CMF Yeti too. I still won't know if I like it until I have the minifig in hand.

The position and future of Friends and minidolls in Lego?
Blakstone replied to Dorayaki's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am in favor of solution one. I am a guy but I enjoy MOCing buildings. I had bought some small Friends sets on clearance for the brick. I don't mind the bright colors but since I find the minidolls incompatible with the minifigures, I gave them to my younger sister (30 years old). Although she was an avid LEGO fan as a kid, she did not immediately recognize them as LEGOs. If I told her they were a new Polly Pocket figure, she would have accepted it. After I told her, she removed the hair and recognized the top of the head as well as the hands. I find that the minidolls lack a distinctiveness to be immediately recognized as LEGO. However, if their success continues, that may change in the future. I know that my niece has no problems mixing minidolls and minifigs. -

I strongly doubt that it is an official LEGO page. That said it is hilarious. Thanks for sharing it.- 2,626 replies

I would imagine the reasons for numbering is to differentiate between different series. For 2014 at least they are using different titles instead of series numbers. I think that the Olympics one was a special situation since it already had a different title and because it was not released everywhere.
-
I believe that Itaria No Shintaku says is that in the Retailer Catalog, the LEGO Movie CMF, The Simpsons CMF, and the MMORG CMF, labeled like that. None have a series number. We won't know until the 2015 CMF show up whether the Series continues the numbering from 12 or 15. We can speculate all we want but if there were other CMF not related to those coming out in 2014, they would have showed up in the same catalog.

I was initially going to suggest the historic characters from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure but with the comments on the WWII leaders, I think we would have to avoid other world conquerors. Alexander the Great and Attila the Hun were no less evil than Hitler. I think army builders would be fine. If someone wanted to make a Napoleon or another version of George Washington, if we have a Revolutionary Commander with that Bicorn hat. I want Greek and Roman philosophers and senators, but those do not have to be specific individuals. I like NoEinstein's suggestion of scientists but I would skip the kite with Franklin as not being historically accurate. I would rather build a small Franklin stove. It is ironic that someone called NoEinstein is asking for Einstein.

Congrats on making the front page and on the excellent build. I like how you built the Ronald McDonald toy the most. I have to express disappointment only in when I saw the thread title I thought there were be LEGOs in Happy Meals. I was already planning on going there for lunch for more bricks even though I normally avoid the place like the plague.

I do. But I think the next wave will be in summer, like 2013, and it is too early to show up in retailers' catalogs.
-
This is about average wave for me... except there is not any minifigures that I want multiples of. That is rare. My must haves are Abraham Lincoln and Bill or Billy (Mac or Buddy) Shakespeare. Also Wild West Wildstyle. Larry the Barista would be nice. The ones I will try to avoid are Marsha Queen of the Mermaids, Panda, and the Robots. I hate Mrs. Scratchen-Post but the hair and the new cat balance that out. Of course I might just take it personally as I have 8 cats myself. Since the Series 9 cop caps made it into next years City sets, does anyone think that these construction helmets will quickly make it into the construction sets?

Future of the CMF as licensed characters
Blakstone replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Blondie-Wan, I agree with your points on Army Building, but I don't think they can revisit older license. If the CMF line contained the same minifigs are the sets, they would cannibalize each other. It would be easier to accomplish with new licenses but there is enough depth of characters not yet released they could do it. I could see them doing a DC Superheros CMF wave with Gotham PD army builders and some henchmen. They could have a Jim Gordon alternate print, but they have to anchor the wave with Superheros not already in sets. Green Lantern heroes and villains. On the higher rarity, I could see them releasing the Clark Kent / Superman exclusive or perhaps a battle damaged Superman. -
The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Blakstone replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This zany style is not for me. But that is okay. I just wonder if some of these 2 in 1 builds have something more my style. As it is, I just want a Wildstyle and perhaps some CMF if they appeal to me.- 2,626 replies

I might get a set or two of the new police sets for the CMF police officers cap. I am more of a building MOCer, so I don't need the vehicles. Fortunately the crooks do have a couple of hideouts.

Can someone link the photos again? The last I noticed was the smallish photo from the poly bag instructions. When I go back to look, I just keep finding links to old sets.

How Many Mirkwood Elf Army Sets Do You Plan on Buying?
Blakstone replied to Deathleech's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I bought 4 Uruk Hai armies since the set first came out. I will buy one immediately and can envision eventually buying four. I like the brick choices, the warg, and orcs. After buying 10 of the elf polybags I don't really need the elves though the shields are appealing.- 102 replies

The Castle thread has a description of the Castle Calvary. I guess the retailers catalog has these sets listed. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=75856&st=1575#entry1724596- 2,626 replies

Durins Bane knows. He described the new Hobbit wave before there were photos leaked to us. Too bad TLG went with that silly idea for the set.
