I liked the Mirkwood Elf Guard polybag more just because of the bricks that came with it. Still the Mirkwood Elf Army (which I bought today) makes my 10 elf polybags seem overwhelming. The helmet of the Laketown Guard is great and it is very easy to swap out faces with other licensed minifigs to make them look like unique people.

Doesn't the LEGO Lord of the Rings video game hint at a Lothlorien set? Although It seems that LEGO has a finalized design, we don't know if they will actually ever release it. I think that is the only change we have of getting a Galadriel in the Lord fo the Rings line. We might get her in The Hobbit line instead though.

Future of the CMF as licensed characters
Blakstone replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Sinterklass would be a great inclusion for another pre-Christmas wave. CMF has a history of international designs and holidays too. I agree t hat this figure is not a CMF design as I don't believe they would design a staff for him like this. Still it would be great. -
Working for LEGO? Have a look at the open positions.
Blakstone replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
What location is "USA, Enfield"? Does that mean a remote position that also includes traveling? It is the IT Sr. Supporter position. Of course, there are seven US cities with this as a name as well. EDIT: That appears to be Enfield, CT where LEGO has a sizable US operation. Darn. If I could do it without moving from Oklahoma, I would have applied tonight. -
PM CopMike your complete mailing address and he will mail them out later. The same page that lists the winners gives you detailed instructions on that.

DGB, Pirate Ship Ambush, and Laketown Guard X4 are my recent additions. I am waiting for the Christmas holiday to build the ship.

Trading My EB Advent Calendar Raffle 2013
Blakstone replied to Blakstone's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Automaton Creations, I am happy to make that trade. Please PM me once you receive your Prize A so we can trade addresses. Best of luck to anyone else that wants to trade. -
LegoFan, you can trade once you have the minifigs. I created a post in the Buy, Sell, Trade forum that you may use as well. I was very pleased to win but would like to trade the Star Wars set for LotR.

Pranas, the ad in the back of this wave of Hobbit sets says that the LEGO Hobbit concludes in 2014. This is what has worried so many of the Lord of the Rings fans as we expected that ad to say that Lord of the Rings was coming in Summer 2014.

Trading My EB Advent Calendar Raffle 2013
Blakstone replied to Blakstone's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I agree. There are way too many winners to ask / expect CopMike to handle trades. The rules are clear once I thread them. This is why I had said that I wanted to trade in the US. I will spend less on shipping. -
Thread could be the place for everyone to trade their EB Advent Calendar Raffle 2013 prizes if they want. I won Prize D though I am not collecting LEGO Star Wars. I want to trade within the United States. Let me know what prize you have. My preferences in order are Prize A, E, B, and C. I am extremely grateful to Eurobricks and CopMike for hosting the contest. I know that there are very rare minifigs in most of these prizes. Prize D has some of the minifigures from the Ewok Village, Jabba's Sail Barge, and Jedi Defender-class Cruiser.

Top Gear is not my thing but I agree that it is a no brainer. TLG can practically make the same sets they do today, add the Top Gear brand with a few minifigs that make the hosts and expand their customer base.

REVIEW: 71004 LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series
Blakstone replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think it really depends on the minifigure. I think the Forest Maiden was very popular as well as the fortune teller. But a lot of the brick dress minifigs are a bit boring. They also come apart too easy for my taste. I wonder if LEGO could come up with a new minifig body shape for the female hips. That way they don't have to print the shape.- 131 replies

Lego Otaku, I am kind of hoping for a Hulk (don't have one yet) or a Cave Troll (already have three). Either way, I would be happy to win a prize regardless. This was a fun contest and I love way the winners are announced. I hope we would be able to trade prizes as long as it is an entire set. I have no use for the Star Wars or Turtles prizes. I would be happy with LotR, Super Hereos, and Lone Rangers groups though. Congrats to the winners so far. Happy holidays!

Anticipation of LEGO Lord of the Rings brought me out of my Dark Ages. But I bought Kingdoms sets while I waited for the first wave. I would guess that it makes only 40-50% of my LEGO purchases. I have multiples of several sets (Uruk Hai Army X4, Mines of Moria X2, Mirkwood Spiders X2, Warg Attack X2, Mirkwood Elf Guard X 10, and Laketown Guard X 4) but I don't need armies in the thousands. I will likely get a couple of the Mirkwood Elf Outpost. But unlike some here, I don't need massive amounts of elves or orcs. I would welcome a wide variety of Rohan soldiers. I could some Gondor troops as well but I have less interest in them.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Blakstone replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Has someone find their sigfig? LOL. What amazes me about these sets is the level of detail in the minifigs and the williness to create new ones. It seems that the City theme very rarely gets new minifig designs. I wonder if the designs for the Recycling Truck will be used in City going forward. And this guy in overalls is more detailed than ones in overalls in the regular City Recycling Truck... though his outfit would not be professional.- 2,626 replies

I don't have much of an issue with The LEGO Movie CMF wave though the bots are disappointing for me. I expect to skip the The Simpson's wave entirely. If LEGO continues specific themed CMF after that, I will participate if the theme is interesting. Of course since I now collect Tolkien, Castle, Superheros, historical, modulars (so far only the Fire Brigade but give me time), historical, and mythology LEGOs, they might have an easy time of that. I do think that the numbered CMF waves are over. Even when TLG makes a wave that is not tied in to a specific theme, I suspect they will simply give each wave a unique name. That way newcomers are not put off because they missed the first 11 or 17 parts of the series. I know many people, myself included, that avoided long running book or television series because they felt there was too much to get caught up with. I only missed the first 4 waves of CMF. I noticed the collectable card games follow a similar pattern. Obsidianheart, take heart. We can disagree all we want as long as we are civil about it and I think you are doing just fine. I have often disagreed with Itaria No Shintaku over some of his opinions on the desirability of female minifigs among others. But he does have an inside source of some type and when he says that something is happening, I believe it. Those with such inside information risk losing it if they identify it. But he does sell LEGO professionally. I recommend you differentiate his opinions from his scopes. But I still learn a lot from reading his opinions even if I don't always share them.

REVIEW: 71004 LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series
Blakstone replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The two bot ladies seem to disappoint many people based on the robot skin showing through. I guess I never cared about flesh or yellow skin visible on minifig prints since I have quite a few of each type. But I share the frusteration with the western robot lady as her print is wonderful except for that issue. I don't expect to ever need a Western zombie or robot attack in a MOC. Still the bots look to be a good compliment to the TLM sets. There are two in the first wave that focus on the Western section of the world.- 131 replies

I am not surprised about the end of the Hobbit line. I suspect we only have one last LotR wave in summer 2014. Although there is no promise of that. We know that TLG is willing to allow lines such as Pirates of the Caribbean which exceeded expectations (according to their Shareholder report) end once there was no supporting media.

Excellent review as always, Whitefang. I will get most of these minfigs but I might skip a few of the robots. Can you confirm if Larry's coffee cup is a new piece or just a new print?- 131 replies

I think we will get one more wave of LotR this summer. LEGO has shown that they are willing to allow a popular line end once their is no more media support for it (Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter) so I doubt 2015 will see any LotR sets. I think we have learned from CUUSOO that LEGO has their own internal set review. I imagine that a Balrog set, Minas Tirith set, and many more were proposed. Perhaps they needed more tweeking or so other sets were rated better out of review or play testing. The link to the Jabba Palace controversy is a good example that there was controversy after word of the set was released but that did not change TLG's plans. In that case, I think the Turkish Community has a valid point... against Lucas but not TLG.

Please share photos once you have them. I am interested in the bricks that are included as we have seen the minifig already. I already know I want to get some.
