  1. Borex, we already have a bag piper.
  2. Indy, do you plan on using the new Battle Goddess helm for Athena in Level 9? That Series 12 CMF could have just been named Athena. I don't think there are any other new molds that would help.
  3. David, the prelim shows a back to the prison. But as a play feature it pops out. It is leaning to the right of the cell.
  4. True. However, the Ideas rules says they can not sell their instructions without invalidating their entry. Personally I would wait to see if it is picked for production. If so, support the set by buying it. If not, they are free to give out the instructions or to sell them.
  5. I stopped by two different Walgreens after work tonight. No CMF in sight.
  6. Elrond's cape is olive green like his legs.
  7. I think those frogs in the Soldier's Fort are stand ins. If so, could they not be a new monkey mold? Eitherwise, we can just use the monkey from the Zookeeper CMF.
  8. I think this thread is in the correct forum. Fantasy belongs here and we don't have a separate minidoll forum. So Friends go in Town and Princess goes in Licensed. I don't mind sets that are targeted at girls. I buy them for friends and family. I just don't want minidolls in my collection. My 32 year old sister gets them. So if I buy these I would gift away a lot of pieces, to the point where it does not make sense to me to buy larger sets.
  9. That is probably the best Junior set I have seen. Normally the large pieces are too large for my taste. That is a good fit.
  10. For those that collect the polypags, the Batwing polybag is one of Target's Halloween ones as well as an arctic explorer.
  11. Toys R Us used to inflate the retail price but I believe that started to match them around Hobbit wave 2. They did not go back to reprice the older sets though. So it is always worth checking. Brickset shows the retail price for this set to be the same as Toys R Us charged. The glimmering cape is the same type material as Vitruvius. However, I think his glimmering portion is blue. Galadriel's cape is white. I thought to title that one Elrond photo as past, present, and future after I took it. I knew that they were not in that order at the time.
  12. To me, most sets are just minifigs and assorted brick for MOCs. So these sets don't disappoint me. However, once we can see more than two of the minifig prints, that opinion may change. I am happy with the blue coats as I built quite a force of Revolutionary Soldiers from CMF. That will be a nice accent.
  13. The purple leaves looks nice but is the other color of leaves in 41072 silver or white? I am not sure that this is a theme that I will pick up but I would not Bricklinking some parts.
  14. Done and you're welcome. I appreciate everyone's kind comments on my review. As a MOCer and a Lord of the Rings fan, I find this a perfect set. However, if you are a collector I can understand disappointment with the build. Since I repurpose all my brick, I look at the usefulness of the bricks and not the creativity of the build... especially in such as small set.
  15. I will take the requested photos later. I am charging the Witchking right now but only the head appears to be glow in the dark. Here are the series of numbers on the TRU receipt: 67341921244.
  16. My review of Witch-king Battle is now up. My local TRU did not have any of the other sets, so I eagerly await Shuebmabow's review of them. For just an 101 piece set, it took about 2 hours to complete between building, taking the photos, editing, uploading them, finding comparison minifigures, and actually writing the review. I had always respected the set reviews, but I can more appreciate all the work that goes into making the reviews now.
  17. Witch-King Battle Set #: 79015 Theme: Hobbit Year Released: 2014 Piece Count: 101 Minifigs: 3 List Price: $14.99 Box Art: The color for the Battle of the Five Armies sets is green. It is a nice look but it does not match the other Dol Guldur sets. That is not an issue for me as I recycle the empty boxes after I build the sets. Here is a side view of the box as well. When you first open your box, you will find two small bags and the instructions. I gathered the minifigure parts immediately. After all, they are the main attraction in this set. I took a photo of the capes themselves. Here are the completed minifigs. Front: Back: Back without Hair, Crown, and Capes: Before moving on to the completed build, lets compare these minifigs: Ring Wraiths and the Mouth of Sauron: Only the Witch-King's head glows in the dark. Elronds, Past, Present and Future: Here are two Elrond mashups to show army builder potential. The first using head and hair from Mirkwood Elf Army and the second from the CMF Elf. Lady Elves: And now the final build: It is showed as with the two sections of the build joined together. However, it can be separated. The Witch-King is on a piece that can be rotated. The catapult will also move the skeleton torso. There are also all the pieces to make a full skeleton once you scrap this set for parts. Speaking of parts, there are only a few spare parts. For those that are interested in the background art of the instructions, here is a sample page. Here is the parts list from the instructions. In case you want see if your Toys R Us has this set, here is the code from the receipt. By popular request, here is the Witch-king Battle with the other Dul Guldur sets. There are only a few connection points possible between these sets. Witch-King Battle has one male connection in the middle of the set and two female connections. One is in the middle and one on the end. That means that one side is not available to be connected to any set. If you remove half of the Witch-king Battle, you can connect the build to the tower of Dul Guldur Battle. Here is WKB joined with DGA Now we can subtract half of WKB. Here is a better view at the connectors on the three sets. In this photo, you can see that the other side of DGB's tower uses a single male connector which does not fit with the double female connectors of the other sets. The other side of the builds to show the connectors. I hope you enjoyed my first review. And now the score! Design: 8/10. Well the design is decent we don't collect the Hobbit sets for the builds. Still the feel of this build matches the other two Dol Guldur sets very well. Parts: 10/10 There is an excellent selection of bricks for your castle MOCs. My favorite parts are the red leaf piece and the window with the black bars. However, you get a decent selection of reddish brown and gray parts too. Build: 8/10 It was a simple build which is expected at this price point. Still it is a random amount of ruins. Playability: 10/10 There is a catapult, a Witch-King launcher, and part of a skeleton that moves with the catapult. That is more play features that some mid-sized sets get. Price: 10/10 There exclusive minifigs for less than $15. The Witch-King's crown is a new mold which Elrond and Galadriel both has new colors of their hair piece. That more than makes up for a price per piece higher than 10 cents. Overall: 46/50 (92 %) This is an excellent set for fans either The Hobbit films or Lord of the Rings. I plan on getting at least one more set to make a purist custom of Eowyn in Meduseld. None of the torsos have fleshie bits which makes these a good idea for tradition Castle fans as well. Hobbit wave three appears to be the last Middle-Earth sets. If so, don't miss your opportunity to complete your collection. Even if you are not a big fan of the Hobbit movies, you will want Galadriel and the twilight version of the Witch-King.
  18. I would but I haven't built my DGB yet. I would probably publish without it and add those comparison shots later.
  19. Licensed CMF takes the same production capability and shelf space as the non licensed ones... unfortunately. Still I am pleased with what is in Series 12. Perhaps a reduced frequency with condense the great ideas.
  20. Not my TRU this morning but I found the Witch-King set instead.
  21. I believe Z's response to Just2Good was something like you can post it but if LEGO requests that it be pulled, Eurobricks will. That is understandable. So I plan on doing a review with photos tonight after work. We just don't know if it will stay or for how long. Either way, once I do it, the photos will live on Flickr. I usually don't work Saturdays, but I am supporting a software release.
  22. My local TRU (north OKC) had only the Witch King set and I was able to buy it. I will build it after work. EDIT: I peeked in the box and Elrond has back printing. The bands from the front as well as the belt cover over to the back. You can see glimpses of silver armor underneath.
  23. Gandalf: I did not pass through fire and death to be cancelled before reaching Gondor.
  24. This. I think the rumored Detective Agency will have enough individual style that we will enjoy it. And if you don't like the actual purpose of the building, you can modify it. I think Eurotrash changed his Pet Shop into a bar by changing the sign outside and a few props inside.
  25. They were not out yesterday at my local TRU. Though I did see them rearrange some of the metal adjustable shelves in the LEGO section. I will have to check again next week tomorrow.
