  1. Batman's head might be like the new Wolverine head. He has white goggles on one side and bears his eyes on the other.
  2. The fishing pole likes different than the Series 3 one to me. I just uploaded the photo to Flickr.
  3. Any licensed CMF would need a mix of main characters and more obscure ones. The LEGO Movie one had four main characters and then others that were on the screen for a little bit of time. After the Simpsons series 2 they probably need to have alternative prints of the family and then include new characters too. So if there was a Star Wars CMF, they could have Luke, Leia, Han, and then characters that had not appeared in minifig form before. But with the amount of Star Wars sets and how LEGO uses a rare minifig to sell a D2C set, I don't think we will get a Star Wars series.
  4. Is there already a molded fishing pole piece? I was at Toys R Us today checking for polybags when I noticed more of those images than what the TRU website had. There were quite a few civilian prints I was unfamiliar with. Only the director felt like a fully realized CMF. However, there was a guy in a plaid shirt holding a molded fishing pole that might be another possibility. I took photos on my phone and can get them uploaded later tonight.
  5. While I would like both Zeus and Artemis, I doubt it. Isn't Zeus wearing Lady Liberty's dress piece? It looks like an exact match though mirror as if the image was flipped. The hair looks like the Roman Emperor with the Garden Gnome beard.
  6. I am not sure how much LEGO is concerned about people feeling bags. Medusa and the genies were very easy to feel. That said, I think a centaur mold is a much more complex mold with multiple connection points. That means that it would be more expensive that most of the CMF's new molds.
  7. Perhaps we should move the Gondor talk over to the LotR thread. I don't think Gondor will show up to the Battle of the Five Armies (although with Peter Jackson, you never know).
  8. I think LEGO will consider CMF as an option with new licenses. I don't think it is a unique situation but a CMF series cannot be applied to every new license and is not even a good fit for some. I only bought Maggie from the CMF series (for the new body mold and teddy bear). I likely won't buy any of Simpsons series 2. Hopefully Simpsons series 2 will be a success and we will see different licenses get an opportunity at a CMF line.
  9. There is no LotR sets this year or 2015. Barring an Ideas set or the petition working, there is no hope.
  10. In a different thread, I saw that Mega Bloks lost the WoW license. If that is true, would World Of Warcraft make a good licensed CMF series?
  11. I was in my dark ages and never had any pirates set except PotC London Escape and last year's battle pack. So a Pirates rehash will not bother me. If nothing else the 2015 wave will make Pirates sets more accessible for new FOLs. And a larger fanbase would make new ideas more likely. Besides if there are any new molds (instead of a bowler hat), it will not be visible in the retailer catalog right now.
  12. Do we know yet what color coats the soldiers are wearing in the two sets? Are they red coats or blue coats?
  13. There were no Castle sets in the 2015 Retailers Catalog; however, there are summer sets listed such as Pirates. I think Castle is taking a longer nap. It has been resting this year as well.
  14. These. I also have the Pirate Ship Ambush together but that is because I don't see a better use for the ship hull right now.
  15. Yes, break it down for parts. As long as you keep your instructions, you can easily build it again later. However, I find that MOCing is more fulfilling them just building the sets.
  16. Great review. While I am not a fan of brick built animals, I appreciate the printed pieces on them. The Mrs Claus printed dress is very nice. I wonder if it will remain exclusive or if the 2016 advent calendar will have it. I also wonder how the October Winter Village set will look with this one. Is there any places for it to attach? After all, if people buy this in October they will get two more holiday elves.
  17. Deskp, that is a good idea. I can see that being a good reason to revisit Harry Potter with a CMF series that is split between the Fantastical Beasts movies and the original HP.
  18. SMC, I think each of the Mods are able to post to the front page. I would recommend you just PM a History MOD.
  19. Hobbit wave 3 comes well over a year after the Orthanc. So the cost of the eagle mold could not be put on a line that far out. Rather, I think you get the eagle in the Hobbit because it was ready paid for by the Black Gate. You are right that Gandalf the White has an exclusive hair mold in the Black Gate, but it was not used in the Orthanc set. If there is to be a D2C set left for the Tolkien universe, it will be a Hobbit one. But either way, it will not deliver any new molds for fans. So it must be a spectacular build or people will skip it.
  20. From the Wizard Battle, Saruman's hair piece. From the Black Gate, the Eagle. It is possible that the Gothic arch originated in both the Black Gate and the Council of Elrond. It see it was used extensively since then. [Edit] Gandalf's hair in the Black Gate has been around for a long time. I find it funny as it is the same hair used for the Viking queen.
  21. LEGO does not make a mold specifically for a D2C set. There are not enough sets make to cover the cost of a new mold. Even a Star Wars D2C cannot afford any new molds. The new hair for Leia had to be introduced in the CMF line first. When people complain about LotR wave 2 they often forget that LEGO picks those sets to cover the molds needed for the Orthanc. Besides it has been well over a year since the last LotR set. If there is a Tolkien set, it will be a final Hobbit one.
  22. The one with the lunch box is the flight attendant torso with the Statue of Liberty dress piece. It is not a new minifig, just a mass up of existing pieces.
  23. They may mean the girl with the tape measurer. I don't recognize the torso print but it lacks enough of a story for me to think of it as a CMF. The guy in his boxers might be a CMF though.
  24. I don't think there is room for a Hobbit D2C, but if there was, I would hope that it would be a Rivendale. It was not covered near as much as Dol Guldur (3 sets), Lake-town (2 sets), or Erebor (1 massive set). They could do a massive Rivendale and could even use the hair from the CMF elf with flesh ears for more elves without having to do a new mold. Sure the odds are very slim, but they have to be better than LotR wave 3.
  25. The director minifig does nothing for me but it ifs both with the academy award winning actress and the palace cinema. Still a great CMF series needs a good mix a City minifigs as well as those from other themes. I am hoping for a Viking chieftain as well as a Bodica type character.
