  1. @lego_tactics The synchronisation is easy theoretically, but take your time to level it right. The front axle is a bit tricky because it has some play (the chassis is not rigid in some areas at this stage). Start at one end, wind it up or down to the max at one side and then the other. Then add the knob wheels left and right of the yellow one, while trying not to compromise the heights on one of the sides by turning them. Then wind everything up by turning the orange centre axle - let´s say up to the middle position. If both sides are horizontal, everything is ok. If not, play around until you´re satisfied. Same for the rear axle - it´s easier to do it here, you have simply to pull out the 8L axle w/ stop and reinstall the knob gear to get it equal. On the first picture you have shown the final adjustment between front and rear axle which can be adjusted individually, disconnecting them by pulling out the 5L axle by 1 stud. The air brake is admittedly hard to put together. But once assembled, you just have to find the middle position by moving the grey 16t gear on the bottom of the car which I called the airbrake activator and find the neutral position from where it will have the same travel while turning the steering wheel left or right. Don´t worry, I´m sure you´ll get the idea and find out everything during the assembly .
  2. There were reasons why I didn´t want to comment on this (great!) model. The first prototype shown didn´t convince me at all with its non-constistent mix of panels & bricks. And maybe because I don´t like bulky heavy vehicles transporting fat dictators, with umbrellas costing a decadent amounts of 700,00$+ . The OP was asking for opinions, willing to improve everything meticulously over and over again. With the effort of the fruitfull discussion the results are respect demanding. Most of all I apreciate the functionality, especially the windows moving and of course the belly shot. Thanks for sharing with us your love for this car, the interesting engineering solutions and all the fun you´ve had !
  3. What a joy to see this baby born, so finally we can watch your (almost) finished MOC ! I knew from Georg (aka Polofreak) that there´s something serious going on in your garage, wondering what the outcome would look like once presented to us. 2 years of sweat and tears really paid off as we can witness here. Now not to belittle any of the efforts, but I must agree with Jeroen about the red interior – it´s biting the orange, distracting from the rest quite a bit. The stacked beams in the dashboard are not to my taste as well. The front and rear hoods would be nice if they could open wider for some degrees, but of course one can understand that the range is „naturally“ limited due to the dense body / the actuators´lenghts. The diffuser´s edges could be more curvy and drive more inwards IMO. I salute the fact that you´ve taken on the challenge to build BOTH versions, RC and manual and succeeded finally I love your individual paneling style filling all the gaps in such creative ways. Can´t wait to see the dark azure/white version and the video! Instructions budgetted already .
  4. @Madoca 1977 Great to see you back again with such a fantastic build ! I´m always blown away by your building techniques. Your "simple" gearbox, efficient motorization and the uncompromised looks of the entire vehicle . And thanks for sharing free building instructions - you are a noble Samurai .
  5. Congratulations finally! The chassis is a pure joy to see, even more to build and play for sure. I´m in love with this gearbox which IMO is a masterpiece on its own, thanks for sharing! Incredible bodywork, considering all the self-imposed design restrictions. Even no pins visible on the panels – that´s almost too much, my friend, let´s take a breath ... Without the bowed 13x3 panels to replicate curves, the lines flow so nicely though. Major shapes not compromised anywhere, in the meanwhile the gaps you´d usually expect are covered mysteriously by the very same panels. Pictures and video are of incredible quality, I can´t immagine all the efforts. One bad compromise are the wheels sticking out. No doubt you´ve had good reasons, then you managed to hide it in the dark somewhere . This was the chassis you were OK with in the end and the body development supposedly was at a point-of-no-return. I wonder if you made a crucial change of mind somewhere in the middle of the journey? As well you might have your reasons for not sharing the underside of the chassis. Though I´m very happy to know you will make instructions so we can learn everything in the near future .
  6. My deepest condolences. Big respect to this genious whose beautiful mind shall live forever.
  7. The nice thing about blockers - you can put them anywhere along the shifting axle and desired ratio. Did you ever consider the following shifting scheme: first gearbox 1-2-5-6 / 3-4-7-8 second gearbox? Neither the gearbox in the Porsche nor the Bugatti gearbox can be called representative. But it resembles some mathematical & physical principles which the interest and attention (of e.g. kids) should be driven to. Sadly, they have been paved by panels so nobody ever "average people" will have a second try to understand and play with the gearbox, moreover do the unthinkable - build your custom MK1, MK2.. So You are doing the very right thing, keep us updated . I´m sorry, as "average people" were meant NOT the EB guys, please ! Seriously - there is no big magic behind gearboxes, even me dumbhead get behind it after tinkering a few days. Probably I will post some of my gearboxes in a week or two in a separate topic. If somebody would need a compact PF servo stepper module: LXF here
  8. If you use the traditional red catch, you´ll have a rotation angle below 90 degrees. Should work in theory without gearing up anything . Btw 3 driving rings could result in 12-speed in theory. You would need a complex setup, e.g. with a differential bypassing the neutral position of the 3rd driving ring.
  9. Nice work @Anto ! Average people can´t recognize the efforts put into a gearbox (which equals an amount of work other people would likely invest into 2-3 single MOCs). I need to study this, working on the development of a 6-speed drivetrain. I already can predict half-stud offsets like this won´t work in my heavy duty specification.
  10. Just my 2c: no need to talk about the white elephant in the room. It´s evident they are painted and no need to apologize. Move on with your next idea
  11. Welcome to EB, Kamerad ! Congratulations on this fantastic build, I absolutely love it ! Would be interesting to learn more about your Lego „background“. How far is your experience? How long did this build take you? How many takes did you need to finish a particular section? Brother, this is the sporty attitude you should keep forever, no matter what ! Don´t let get you by the flattery, but always try to improve to get your wished results in the (probably never really) finished project. You are not a genius for doing this, but I often wonder why others genius still don´t. Maybe it sounds stupid to someone, but thank you for the german accuracy, Sir. The outcome looks satisfying. And this . It´s difficult to photograph a black model. The extra efforts are worth it, generally spoken. There are some good threads here about this kind of issues worth reading. Btw. a side view (from a far perspective if possible) would be great to see as well. Good if you nailed it on spot too. Indeed it´s known that the NSX design was inspired by a Ferrari back then, namely the F40. The "wannabe" status of the Honda NSX was a major key to the legendary success, which seems never can be beaten again by the successors.
  12. Interestingly enough this name pops up in the discussion. How can one fight a thief? Fight him if possible! Expose him. Helge Myhre. He´d had various accounts here on EB where he was trying to advertise his „work“. He got banned various times for some reasons. Another small example: he modified my mini-piston engine idea of which the design is very simple and nothing spectacular and claimed it his own creation. I was aware of it, but it didn´t really bother me. Some day he came to visit my YT channel where he praised the Chinese company whose name I don´t want to spell again. I told him you´re not my guest, please go somewhere else. I didn´t curse him or use bad words. After that he put a straight free download link for the instructions of my MOC „in revenge“. Of course I could ban him from my channel, but the link was still active. The file was hosted at bricksafe and luckily its operators are the same as from rebrickable, so I knew whom to contact about the issue. I had to deliver proof first. After investigation the guy was banned from both platforms. I know I haven´t stopped him from doing what he loves doing. He enjoys our talk about him. But it was a sweat victory and a great day in my life.
  13. Thank God I´m doing fine and can buy me a real McLaren very soon ! So finally all the envy from the poor Lepin collectors can be justified. But yes, there are many shades of grey between black and white. You need to make compromises in life, not to regret them. The owner of that website is hosting instructions and participating in the sales himself. So he is your main suspect you should be aware of.
  14. I haven´t ever seen any mediocre model from you. But as always, it´s your privilege to melt into self-pity, Sir .. The original poster was asking for help/opinions from the community, not for critics from the hypermoralists which btw. he has heard and discussed miltiple times earlier already on this forum. I wondered why some of the higher educated adolescents feel the need to challenge him on the backside and lesson him about ethics. Then I was challenged personally, even if this thread is about Jeroen´s crane. Probably we do not pay for brand licenses. We don´t pay to TLG as well for using their brand name (only spent estimated 20-30K on bricks in a lifetime). We are not hiding anythig, but even dare to speak about it. We are not multi billion companies backed by billion head economies. The double standards we are accused of, are trivial compared to the double standards of some hypermoralists. So we are all guilty having commited the ultimate felony: "Don´t spell the name". According to that, the entire rebrickable business needs to be shut down immediately, half of the designers to be procecuted and sent into GULAG. Obviously some people here would love to see that.
  15. Bravo Lox, you have outdone yourself again ! I can´t wait to build this in black with the red accents - will look so good on my shelf next to Firas´ studded version !!
  16. OP´s question: „How can one stop a thief?“ Answer: „You just can`t, he can stay.“ „Should I learn to accept the parasite?“ „No, it´s you the parasite, even worse.“ „Should I offer instructions anyway?“ „No, you´re taking profit of them.“ „Should that bother me at all?“ „No, enjoy the sunshine and yourself.“ „How can one survive as a professional otherwise?“ „You shouldn´t, it´s a hobby after all.“ Wow
  17. I envy you ... The suspension picture already shows that the car is jam packed with sophisticated functions. So let us know the details soon.
  18. Great job, Lachlan, your best so far ! First I saw it, I couldn´t believe you haven´t put golden wheels on it, but after all you got it everything on spot. It´s a shame the car can´t drift, but let´s blame it on the poor lame TLG motors ... Did you consider to make 3-D printed hard tires for that purpose? EDIT: into HOF immediately!
  19. @WjLiv: Welcome to EB and thanks a lot for sharing! Nice fact - it has been designed for the Bugatti and so it can be simply used in my car as well, same as the red rigid hose which came out almost too late, but then saved the rear end because the original version with the light bars didn´t satisfy me at all. It´s a great MOD, the best possible solution ! Did you use regular Lego LEDs for the rest?
  20. It´s not needed in the orange version of course. I have no idea how it happened, probably the color had changed at some time due to an error in the software / coding, otherwise somebody would have registered it half a year ago... Thanks for your attention!
  21. Hi @johpr! Welcome to EB. I´m ashamed about this error - how could I miss that?... I´ve added the orange flex hoses to the inventory of course. Thanks for your attention and enjoy your build!
  22. Headlights: the new design with decent lines is not bad, but IMO there should be some kind of "light" elements however. The rake of the car has gone, it´s a pity .. Why that? I know it would require a lot of redesign, but the rear wheel arch would look better if lowered by 1 stud in relation to the rest, similar to the 42096 Porsche. The lines on the bottom could be glossed over by dark azur flex axles, I´m thinking of your 458 here . In that case perhaps the whole rear axle should move 1 stud lower as well, but that again would cause heavy complications for a chassis redesign... The rear looks a lot better now, coming closer to the role model. A diffuser would be nice of course. Another small suggestion: the LBG ++ liftarms on the roof in black color and the yellow bushes could be replaced by the same parts as well.
  23. Very nice job, I love this kind of rational placement of functions / motors and compact design of the chassis ! One more suggestion regarding the color combo: the decent blue line could be continued in front and rear sections and perhaps add to the overall harmony.
  24. Suggestions: Try to put everything as low as you can. It will result in a supercar sitting lower and looking more sporty and realistic. I can´t spot any 7x5 frames. Don´t be afraid to get some and use them wherever you can in the chassis. That will help to achieve more rigidity and provide plenty of attachment points for everything. Especially the central column is too thick and way too high IMO. You may want to put seats somewhere at some time. A thick wall between driver and passenger is ugly and unrealistic. I´m always trying not to occupy the center with functions, other than routing axles and wires through a tunnel 5 studs wide only. You can add stability by reinforcing the sides of the car and/or make rigid roof / A-pillar connections. You can put some of the motors / Sbricks / batteries or the gearbox into the space between seats and rear wheels, save space elsewhere. Perhaps the servo could be put in front of the front axle, so you would save space in that area, e.g. to root a link to the steering wheel. Some big progress regarding sequentially shifted gearboxes has been made in the past few years by the community. I would highly recommend @Didumos69 work on this, particularly his latest development of a gearbox and servo-shifted mechanism. A motorized rear wing would be a very nice add-on, please do it! The car´s width is perfect at 25 studs, not possible to go narrower without sacrificing the suspension and no need to go wider at the standard scale (approx. 1:10) in the given setup.
  25. @M_longer Wonderful creation, I love it a lot ! Reminds me of you ingenious crane, a C-model of the Arocs. So posting this just as a MOD of the Mack is at least an understatement if not a misunderstanding IMHO !
