  1. Yeah, me too ! They didn´t ask / inform me, nor did they imply my easy fixes. However many other minor fixes regarding parts and instructions quality can be confirmed. Waiting for my 2 free samples so I can make somebody happy on Christmas day again . We can only hope so! You should pay attention to the CaDA live streams featured by Martin, starting soon on a regular basis with all the good news!
  2. Again a nice custom solution from you along with all the other countless creative mods you have done to please us ! Considering how many bionicle teeth have been used to cover the many gaps you can say it´s a clean solution to keep the "Technic" look. In general I try to keep it consistent, not use blocky bulky system parts all over the place. My original design was held on better axle pins than those in black we were having in the first wave of sets. Is your car anytime done yet so it can finally collect dust on it (retoric q )?
  3. Thanks for sharing, you really have done justice to both models and the green / red contrast highlights how different yet cool both are next to each other! Especially I admire the view of mountains and sea in the background which you most likely will be enjoying day by day .. I will visit you some day after corona is over .
  4. It´s not only about the performance. As @ScoarSonander mentioned, the shape often doesn´t suit your needs. Then the attachment points and surrounding bumps, half-stud offset are quite annoying if you ask me.
  5. Thank you for sharing the data sheet ! Regarding the weird behaviour on BuWizz - I can only tell you my experience on the 2.0 device that it works fine, as well the other motors. It´s fun driving a heavy car on 4x of the Pro L motors connected two of each on a BuWizz. One small suggestion: try different extension cables from different manufacturers, if at hand. A new control app is underway from CaDA according to my information which should allow to connect multiple receivers (CaDA batteries) at once! --------------------- What do you guys think if CaDA would offer some buggy motors in their portfolio too? What should they be equipped with / how improved compared with the other 3d party devices mentioned above? At least they will be noisy, no doubt
  6. You can use the pinholes of the surrounding pieces for mounting this - the motor is 5x plates high. @efferman: Thank you, that makes me the more confident! At approx. 140rp/m you can expect decent action as shown in the video, compared to 35rp/m in the Lego micromotor (source: Philo)
  7. We know how useful mini motors could be in a vehicle of any sort. I have never used any because they have been so rare ever since (and likely to break down?). What functions in a car instantly come to your mind? Screenwipers, popping headlights, collapsing side mirrors, ...? So I was happy to know, unexpected but the more appreciated, there is good news from CaDA. I can´t wait to get my hands on the 4 pieces they have promised to send me ! Bad news: they will not be available in your supermarket around the corner today or tomorrow, but hopefully anytime soon ...
  8. Bravo ! Needless to say that it makes me proud seing a B-Model of "my" set. The performance is quite good due to the much lighter weight and skipping a gearbox. I love the overall appearance which pleases the eye because you have managed to replicate the typical shapes of a generic modern F1 car really well - e.g. I hate to see the squarish front & nose part on most Lego cars existing - you have made it round and smooth. The front spoiler could be tilted a bit less to my taste, but it´s build very nice and creative. The rear spoiler can stay that low IMO. I remember seasons in the 2000s where these looked that way. Do you consider to make instructions?
  9. @astyanax Thank you! I know all of Sariel´s gearboxes, though having the attitude to bring something new myself. But you have caught me on the new differential, of which I have seen a similar one in CaDA´s new bricked Humvee btw.. Playing with differentials within gearboxes can bring a lot of fun sometimes.
  10. Guys, thank you for the entertainment ! At the moment I´m running my car testwise on 4x old CaDA motors coupled 2 of each to a BuWizz 2.0. Gears are flipped behind the differential. I can tell you drifting on a polished granit floor is fun at least ! However, if I find some time, I can imagine going next level with 2x RC motors I have lying around useless for years and add a simple but efficient 2 speed gearbox. Btw. CaDA is considering to make a similar device as well.
  11. @Celeri: thank you, I enjoy reading such well-founded feedbacks a lot and I´m happy you like it! I found it highly interesting you brought up this example! The 8865 „supercar“ was the very first Lego Technic set I have built in my life, back in 1991 . I was deeply impressed and obviously still keeping the passion 30 years later. Recently I have rebuilt that very same old set with only few parts to be replaced. I was having mixed feelings – the sweet nostalgy one the one hand and the suffering from searching the many parts needed for that single step in the building instruction. You get just used to the modern "simple" instructions layout. Back to the CaDA 61042 set. I can remember only 2 negative feedbacks ever, an obviously small percentage. I´m thankful, being the luckiest Technic designer on earth, because I´ve had the opportunity to influence/ decide the black colour of the pins for the dedicated builders like I am . I´ve heard not one compaint about the missing „colour diversity“, only rejoicing. Then the building steps were made after my proposed subassemblies, I even didn´t know they would follow these consequently – resulting in some smaller and some bigger building steps. A prominent influencer in Germany said „It´s like building good old Lego Technic, only with the newer parts.“ (Held der Steine). Maybe I don´t agree on that exactly, but it flatters me too.
  12. They are nice and I love that part in particular along with all the other tricky details where you have filled all those little gaps! My model would look different of course if we´ve had the Ferrari parts one year earlier, including the wheel arches. And I apreciate your attitude of fine tuning the "never ending project", although I guess it´s finished now after you have made the video? One last thing I would recommend: get the door line fix done (easy fix #2). You can simply remove the bush pin, no need to rip it all apart and replace it underneath by the 2L pin, it´s still stable enough.
  13. @Rebel_Lego : I´m interested in your solution and would like to see some pictures . Host them somewhere else (bricksafe e.g.) and simply post the links here.
  14. The monocoque (not chassis btw.) looks promising, although I have my reservations regarding stiffness and as the OP mentionned - you can´t route any axles through it. The A-pillars are attached to the 13x3 bowed panels by the tow ball w/ cross axle. That means they aren´t attached on the front end and don´t contribute to the stability of the whole construction (?). But hey, we are in an early stage and I believe if somebody is capable to do anything neccessary to make it all happen, it´s Jeroen himself . They started a new joint venture to build this car. Their initial goal was to surpass the 300mph barrier and set a new world record as fastest production car. Now this has been achieved already by others and we are still waiting for the Venom F5 to be released. Nothing but talking and nothing to see so far, exept computer generated images on the net (which I like of course).
  15. I know you meant this 100% serious and you´re not drunk, anyway I´m laughing out loud - good joke ! And I would buy anything designed by Lipko design with my eyes closed . It´s just not gonna happen. However, I feel your fingers are itching - I can send you some interesting parts if you want, compatible and competitive .
  16. The Land Rover wheels (rims+tires) actually are in 1:8 scale if to use them on cars: 80mm/10 studs. If you ask me, we need the Porsche wheels + offset, only 2/3 wide. Edit: not to go too far off-topic: PvdB made a beautiful Koenigsegg a long while ago - in 1/8 scale, judging from the wheels !
  17. I don´t agree about the "normal" 1/8 wheels if you are talking about the Porsche/Bugatti/Sian rims. They have a deeper offset - means the attachment points meet the wheel hubs somewhere near the wheel center. This way they require less space within the wheelhouse to turn. Different story with the the smaller older standard rims (scale depends on the tires dimensions), including the Defender/Ferrari 42125 rims. Making it AWD sets limits to it as well because of the CV joints. It seems strange, but is a fact - the issue as such occurs in many builds from the best builders. Once you realise the wheels scrubbing somewhere after having almost finished your model, it´s almost impossible to get rid of the parts in the way...
  18. @Aleh : you should have linked the examples to make clear what we are talking about (I know of course). As @Lipko pointed out, nowadays we must differentiate more between the fifty shades of grey between white and black. You have to make a decision whether you wanna keep putting instructions on rebrickable and go 99% risk of being ripped-off or not sharing your instructions at all. As long as the rebrickable company(!) can´t afford a lawyer in China to protect the designs they are selling, you can´t do anything but only raise buyers´ awareness so they at least compensate your work by buying your instructions after the purchase at aliexpress. My advice: share only pictures / videos of your MOCs and if you are playing in the upper league, you will get the deserved attention from the manufacturers in consequence to get it done legally - with your signature on the box and some of their money in your pockets. Win-win situation for everybody (except Lego purists). I didn´t know that´s the case, shame on them if true! At least they advertise otherwise. I joined this new website instead where you get a 10% comission as designer for every set sold: https://buildamoc.com/
  19. @Pvdb : Please update one picture and teach a new lesson every day - we will try to be patient and comprehensive . I think I slowly get the idea with the gear sequence. The one gearbox is being alternated / skipped every second 90-degree turn while the other switches permanently. Given the fact you are always using the space behind the differential to add some gears, why don´t you use the differential itself as transmitter and engage it from both sides? Of course that would require a whole different setup, but I´m just wondering.. Welcome to EB! Please choose a better nick, it´s pure blasphemy. Thank you.
  20. @brucewayne: You´re welcome! Though we are not here to offer you the desired shortcuts. The (new) experience is part of the fun for most of us, so enjoy the rewards in the end after the "hard work" ! I can recommend to use rebrickable and bricklink - it´s the best database for any Lego part ever made. I´m used to explore parts and numbers in the LDD library as well, although it is getting outdated more and more. You are free to try Powered Up - I would like to see what is possible since I´ve seen nobody trying so far. But I doubt the challenge is worth it in the stage you are right now. If you don´t own any PF elements, you should think twice collecting them because of the prices which are becoming insane due to the fact they are not being produced anymore by TLG. As @amorti pointed out - get the CaDA set and you have it all, including new generation motors which are compatible to PF as well. Your POV is clear enough, but hey - let the guys throw their dollars where they want, in support of the suffering . They will know better soon anyway . Thanks for your help ! If you don´t mind posting your version once finished - we would appreciate it.
  21. I´ve had the same thought, being used to insert those helpful bionicle teeth everywhere to mitigate the triangles in such areas.
  22. Thank you for sharing your great work with us, man ! One can see at the first glance that you love building Koenigseggs and this is a very accurate build to say the least. Especially I love how you have shaped roof and spoiler. The rear view looks very clean and convincing. So are you willing to show more illustrations? Like a delicious underside picture? Is that an improved door mechanism compared to the previous one? Can you show us the gearbox which I have no doubts is genious? Moving paddle shifters? Does it fly ??
  23. Everybody is free to see it his way - you are free to regard the 42125 set as "customizable". Our bricks and any set we are buying, is per se supposed to fulfill that purpose - at least that´s always my attitude. However more and more recent Lego Technic sets seemingly were not made for that purpose anymore. C+ applications designed for specific models and "dumb" on any other custom purpose for the average buyer. The 42125 Ferrari bears a 18+ label for a specific target group (snobs IMO). Just read the advertising, it´s ridiculous. HdS: "It can´t do anything, but has a big hole". Now what @desert752 has done with it - it´s consequent and so obviously logical to me. If not the small insignificant fact that you can´t do it from Lego parts.
  24. Good question, definitely worth to try. Unfortunately I have no time, all motors available occupied and the Flexari has to go down further to be considered . Yeah, our winter season has changed from -20 and huge piles of snow just 2 weeks ago to +20 and lots of Sahara dust right now.. "The level of customization possible is outstanding" - that sounds like a good joke, but let´s see it positive .
  25. I love that MOD, thanks for sharing ! Instantly reminds me of the wild drift races in the winter season on Forza Horizon with my favourite 4-wheelers . This is what Lego Technic should be about in my "purist" sense - designed hollow on purpose, to enable all sort of modifications possible. Though very few are able to handle the total costs of such an application. My estimated costs (Germany), if I would have to buy it from various sellers: item amount price total Set 42125 1 160,00 € 160,00 € BuWizz 2.0 2 160,00 € 320,00 € RC buggy motors 4 70,00 € 280,00 € PF servo 1 85,00 € 85,00 € sum 845,00 €
