Great entry! Funny and very well built . The combination between tiled walls and the tiled wooden section in the interior is absolutely fantastic. You also did a great job on mixing tiles with normal parts in the walls, which gives a really cool look. I especially like the snow or ice hanging from the wall in the inside. The wooden bridge is also neat, even if it's not your own idea. As always, I also try to give you some constructive feedback (which is really difficult looking at such a beautiful build): I'm not a huge fan of the ice. The technique you used and also that it's a stud above the rest of the water, is very good. But the colour seems wrong. I haven't seen much light blue ice in my life. It always was white (trans-clear) . Otherwise I can't find something to improve. Also, that banquet looks delicious and the candles and their holders are fantastic details Edit: just took a closer look on Flickr and noticed the Ninjago hats as plates. Chapeau!

To the Ax with the Tax! Part 4 - A Dangerous Twist
Simon_S replied to LittleJohn's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very nice, I like how the market turned out ! All the different stalls and details, all the activity looks pretty cool. As for advice I can say this: I think dark green doesn't really fit in a middle east Kaliphlin layout... but that's most probably just me or my conception that a middle east MOC should contain mostly vibrant and warm colours. I would have liked to see it replaced with orange or maybe even medium blue / azure (which would give a good contrast to all the red, orange, etc. in the build). The wall and the little white house work perfectly as surrounding for the market. There are some very nice textures in there, as there are on the ground. Great job all around- 17 replies

Nice work ! I wouldn't have tought that dark blue can work that well in a landscape - you showed us that it can! The lever as dead grass look also nice, it seems you needed a lot of time and patience for them, but they are surely worth it. The tree texturing looks also nice, as does the treehouse. Actually, if there's something I'd change, it would most probably the whitewash. The arches fit in there nicely, but there are almost too many different colours and too randomly arranged for my taste. It also would have been cool to see an overview, of the whole build, the base together with the treehouse and more of the trunk in the middle. To finish off my comment, I want to say that I simply love your brickbuilt deerhead. Great job on this tiny detail

AoM: Storehouse: Phase 2: Daydelon Warehouse

As already said, I really like the brown dark brown mix . Also the shaping of the roof looks impressive. I'm not sure what kind of bush these light purple leaves should represent, but they somehow work for me - it brings some colour to it, but isn't too distracting for the rest of the build. For advice, I think it would have been cool to see more colours in the interior. Right now we only have a very small spot of orange and a little bit green. With all the different food pieces LEGO produces, you could have brought a lot of shiny colours in this interior.- 22 replies

Thank you! Just got 1000 more of those trans-clear 1x2 for my next big castle/GoH build . Thanks mate :-). Thank you. Thanks Gideon. I have to agree that it might have looked better. I was afraid that it would look too much like ice and not water if I did that, so that were my thoughts behind it. I will give it a shot when I use this technique on an irregular base next time. Haha, thanks for the kind words Garmadon . Haha, thanks man Thanks Captain for the comment and the advice. Hello? Simon and Marcello would never do something that brings a detriment to Corrington, they are way too serious for things like that . Blue sounds actually quite good, I'll give it a try next time. Thanks for the advice!

[CH1 A] Making the grey one red
Simon_S replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Haha, if there would be a category like "funniest entry", you should win it . I really like the monkey statues and the palm tree. But I think, you could have made a better landscape for it... I wouldn't use olive green in a jungle, rather take normal or bright green. Also, some ground texturing would have been cool. What I also like in this is the photography. The black background works very well, most probably way better than a white one would have been. -
Great job on this! The base looks just like it would have been constructed very fast, especially with the gate just made out of three trunks. Great job on this, it's also very accurate to the category description . As for advice, I'm not a huge fan of your water: I looks weird to me having it only one stud wide. Expand it next time. It also is too dark to be so near to the coast. It looks more natural when it gets brighter, the nearer it gets to the land . All in all, this is a very nice fortification

Simon: "Marcello, do you have enough rum with you for our trip?" Marcello: "Tell me Simon: When was the last time we didn't have enough? As far as I remember..." Simon: "Haha, you had so much rum, that you don't remember anything! But I have to admit... you're right. I always worry way too much when we start something exciting." Marcello: "Hey, have you seen that island there. It looks rather lonely. Let's go and check it out!" So they climbed in their small lifeboat, threw all that useless stuff out and loaded it with rum. They took a soldier with them, so they wouldn't have to do all the stressful and laborious rowing. And then they arrived... Marcello: "Look, my mom made us an apple pie. I thought I'd bring it here so we can share it." Simon: "Eating is everything you can think of right now? We just discovered a new island. There's more important stuff to do right now. We need to fly the flag of Corrington, before those greenhorns from Eslandola or the boozed Oleanders arrive." Marcello: "Yeah, that's a really good idea. I'll get the flag. And then we can clink our rum bottles and enjoy our apple pie..." Thanks for looking! The palm tree on the right is inspired by cara. This is my entry to Challenge 1B. I know I'm very early, but you have to make the best out of the vacations as long as you have them ;-). Greetings from Switzerland and have a nice day! Simon di Svizzera P.S. Thank you for all constructive critism :-)

Really nice build Stefan! You really captured the "kaliphlinian spirit" in this build. I like it :-)

Yay for friends colours! The hedge around it is also nice and I like the interiors. Good job!

I agree that this is one of your best yet. Once again the interiors are great! But also the whole landscape, the frozen water, the snow, the rockwork - they all look fantastic. This is a wonderful build. I'm impressed by the number of builds you pulled out for the CCC, but also by the quality they are.

[The Frozen Beyond, Cat. A] Worenthon Tower

So nice! I know this might sound weird, looking at such a great build, but I really like the minifigures. The trapped Algus looks also good. -
The build is full of details and just looks great. But not only your build is absolutely fantastic, the whole post you made was so nice to read. I love that drinking song. Keep it on!

[Frozen Beyond, Cat. C] Dangerous Ground
Simon_S replied to Jakorin Swiftsword's topic in Guilds of Historica
Excellent build! The landscape is so nice and the greebly wall looks fantastic. To show the wheater change by the footprints is a little bit minimalistic, but it works . -
You can skip point 2 (as much as I know, admins correct me if I'm wrong), but otherwise I came to the same solution after a lot of reading ;-).

Welcome to Simon di Svizzera's Sugar Cane Plantation! Most of the sugarcane juice Simon di Svizzera uses for his Rum comes from smuggling. But often people started to ask about where it came from. To quieten their consience, he bought his own small plantation on Tiberia. It can only produce a small part of the needed, but that's not so important. It's mainly to defend Simon's good reputation. I will licence this build (small plantation property), once a detailed map of Tiberia is up. Have a nice day and thanks for stopping by! - Simon di Svizzera

Intro: Welcome to Marcello's Rum Bar
Simon_S replied to Simon_S's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you. You don't want to know how many times it collapsed until I got a good photo . Thank you Khorne! I used it to bring some variety in there Thank you Thanks mate! I built it over the holidays #StudentLife Thanks man! Thank you Garmadon! I first had only the first shot and then I thought that it wasn't enough yet for a good intro, so I made the other scene too... Thanks Titus! Thank you! Khorne is right about the musketholder and Garmadon about the price list Thank you . Thanks Maxim! Thanks a lot for the very kind words Captain Dee! I feel honoured . Thank you! Haha, I didn't think about that, but now that you point it out... Just keep building and over the years your builds will get better and better Thanks mate! Yay for rum -
Very nice intro! It's good to see you joining Corrington ;-).

So nice, I like your style a lot. The white building with red accents and the green leaves climbing on it make such a nice combo . I look very much forward to the other modules
