Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Simon_S replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Carson Haupt - I surely wouldn't do a reddish brown or a tan roof, you already have these colours in it. I'd go for dark tan or dark brown, these two would make the best colour sheme (in my eyes, of course). With black or dark red you're also not doing wrong but I like to use those colours more on white houses and not on tan ones (I don't like the black/tan combo a lot, but dark red/tan could actually be pretty cool). EDIT: Oh yeah, got my old status back :-) -
Hand of Corruption Book II: The Gathering Storm
Simon_S replied to MassEditor's topic in Guilds of Historica
Woah. Absolutely fantastic work ME. Keep it on! Now I really, really, REALLY want to join Nocturnus -
Haha, thank you! Thanks Tomsche. Thank you :-). Thank you. I'm somehow bored of the usual castle stuff, which already has been done so many times (for example a kings hall, a large feast or an armory, etc.) so I like to try out new stuff that hasn't been built before. Thank you Alfadas. I didn't took much time to write/ think about it, but it's still better than no story ;-). Thank you. Yeah, I really like to throw in such random things, I think they're good to make the build unique. Magic :-P Haha Thanks mate. Thanks Doc. They are actually laid into water, you can see it if you take a look at picture 2. And the other ones who aren't... ;-) Thanks mate. Thank you! Yeah, you can actually never get enough of those. Thank you. Thank you. When I wrote the story I totally forgot that I'm now also a Lord of Avalonia and not only of Nalderic ;-). Oh man, that would be so creepy. I really should do a stop motion film with it. Thanks mate. Thank you. Mixels eyes make every build better, even if they don't really fit in there. Thanks you. Originality is a very important part for me when it comes to building. Copying others people ideas and techniques doesn't seem to be too difficult, so I try to create my own stuff. Thanks mate. Thank you. The eyes, the ball joints and the dark brown cheese slopes were the main reason to finally buy some Mixels. Thanks César.

A very clean MOC which still has a lot of details in it, I like it! Keep on the good work!

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Simon_S replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
If you do a build, you usually post it in a new topic, with a small description and a story if you wish to do so. Just try to take as good pictures of it as you can, then host them on Flickr or another image hosting site and like them here. -
Hey friends I finally found some time to build again, even if it was just a little bit... I built another entry for the Historican Settlements (Task IV of Avalonia) in the category: Medical The Eye Collector Simon: Good morning sir! Fred: All hail, King Simon of Nalderic! I'm humbled that you give my little eye store a visit. How can I help you? Simon: As you can see, both of my eyes still work. I'm just looking what you have on sale. I hope you have a lot on sale for me... Fred's assistant: Of course we do, in the moment we have right and left eyes and in some days a cyclops eye should arrive here. Simon: Can I reserve the cyclops eye? I would love to donate it to a lovely lady, I think that's a gift that would impress her a lot, don't you also think so? Fred: Yes, that's a great gift and will surely impress her more than anything else she ever got from a man. Simon: Thank you, so I will come back in some days... To be continued... Additional shot: As you can see, I had some fun with the mixels eyes again. Thank you for looking and have a nice day! Simon

The story of Lord Mortis - Part 2 [Freebuild]
Simon_S replied to Jorrith's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very nice, you surely put a lot of work in all the rocks. I like the mix of dark grey, dark bley and some dark green accents. That works great. I'm very jealous on all that dark orange... best LEGO colour ever, but I still don't have a lot of it. -
I love those sand dunes and the whole build is so clean and simply done while it's still very aesthetic to look at.

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I just noticed we Avalonians also got new tags. Thanks a lot Ecc . EDIT: Also, welcome to all the new members. It's great to see so many new faces to GoH! -
Break down every single set you still have complete and you'll have way more pieces to build MOCs.
-
Oh nice. I will put something together for sure!
-
Impressive. We also had this challenge in the SwissLUG and it was very much fun. So I know how difficult it is to build something out of this and you definitely did a great job.

Mount up! Rhopalocera Lagargander (Giant Butterfly)
Simon_S replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
Good job. I really like that colourful butterfly, but we still need more fancy colours in Historica! -
Very scary, you really know how to create a nocturnian atmosphere. Now just think what you could have done if you added a base, which was built also as good as this, instead of having white background...
-
So nice! Great sculpting and the white/brown colour combo works well.
-
Nice one! I love the purple stripes.

Who anyway still reads the forum with signatures? It gets so confusing, you see pictures you've seen hundred times before because someone put them in his/her signature and you always have to scroll down a lot.

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Simon_S replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
When I was still a beginner in the hobby and I posted my builds on MOCpages I was inspired by Ru Corders suff (for those who still know him), he told me about the GoH and then I joined EB. For book II I betrayed my weak home guild of Mitgardia and joined the much more powerful (and less stinky) Guild south of the border. -
Nice one! I like all the olive green in there and the sand green accents on the rocks really make the landscape pop out . Your dragon looks also good.

HSS Agriculture: A Kaliphlin Farm?!? (UoP DoH)
Simon_S replied to SarahJoy's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very nice build Sarah! The terrain looks great and the irregular base looks also nice. I like how you took the first pic, so it looks like sand dunes in the background.- 23 replies

Very nice! Those floors are popular these days, but they're still cool. I love that you used the yellow falcon shield for Mitgardia, it fits perfectly. Too bad I didn't got the idea when I still was in this guild...

Very nice build mate. So you entered one category two times? I like the mix of palms you put in there and the rockworks looks nice as usual.
