Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Simon_S replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
It fits the best in Mitgardia, this is sure, but I wouldn't make it to the official minifigure, so that other ones can also use it ;-). I for example am also very excited to get it and not just for challenge III... -
Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Simon_S replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
robuko, I already voted for you before I saw that comment, you're build is fantastic. I agree about the set, that has some very nice parts in it, so I might get it. -
Wow, great build ME! That hung up crocodile is a very cool details and it also gives some colour in the build. I especially like the first shot, good job on this one!
-
Very nice, that tower looks fantastic!
-
Good job on this build! The rockwork and all the textures look great and I like how the sand green troll stands out of the crowd .

Dress my Exo Suit Mini-challenge - Voting thread
Simon_S replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi

Here is my alternate build: Pros: -working cable winch to pull the car up. -replaceable exhaust pipe, as seen in the second picture -if you buy two sets, they can be used perfectly together -almost all pieces were used, only around 25 are left Cons: -the garage part isn't that stabile and sometimes falls apart. -before the car is finished, it breaks often during the building process. The roof part is what makes it stabile in the end. Maybe build it upside down? Here's the digitalized build: Thank you Bob De Quatre for doing the render for me. I liked to work with this set. It has some good parts in it, the problem is, that it's very hard not to build a car with those pieces. It includes around 6 SNOT pieces, which allow many possibilities for individual details. It also contains some small parts for details, for example a lot of grille tiles, two cheese slopes, two 1x1 tiles and enough other stuff to make a cool alternate model. Thank you TLG for this challenge, it was a great experience!

Avalonia Task 3- The Geography of Ambalar
Simon_S replied to Bacon Potatoes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice work, all the micro builds are very nice! -
Nice work. I like that you made the dome blue and not white, which gives a personal touch to this build. Brick on!
-
Your first build for the guilds? Good start, the rounded base looks way better than a rectangular would have looked like.
-
All the different textures make this build stand out. I agree with SK that this is one of your best yet.

Your first SNOT rocks? They look very good. I also like your figs, especially Lady Sithanna and her Man-Bat soldier.

Company of Thorin Oakenshield project - Compeleted!
Simon_S replied to Pate-keetongu's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Very nice work. It's hard to tell which one is the coolest, because they all look great. Did you try to put Mixels eyes on the headlight bricks you now used for the eyes? I think that would look pretty cool ;-). -
Cool build, especially that you made it fit the golden ratio. @Vladivus: Before we got the ISO paper formats (DIN A4 & co.), the golden ratio was the standard of the aesthetics for a long time. You can also see it in older books, that's why they left a part on the top and on the bottom blank ;-).

Free build: A Joshua Tree in the Contemplative Gardens
Simon_S replied to SarahJoy's topic in Guilds of Historica
Wow, very nice job Sarah! The curves you managed to build are great. Brick on!- 32 replies

Nice, I like how clean the hole fort is. You didn't put any greebles, textures and such stuff in it, but it still looks very detailed and totally awesome. Brick on!
-
Fantastic! The fort looks great, from the detailed walls to the amazing roofs, well done!

I like the micro trees, they look great. However, I feel that the white and light blue plates in the sea, which should represent the waves, look somewhat out of place. I'd just do it all in the same colour.

Nice one mate. Just everything is perfect in this one, the house, the fence around it, the palms and the number and positioning of the minifigs.

Very nice. The islander mask and the skull on the bars are my favourite details. This build is a very nice overall composition, I can't say what exactly makes it that special, it simply pleases my eyes a lot. Great job.

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Simon_S replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
That looks very promising so far, but don't put that many buildings on it. You actually might be able to fit all of the mentionned in there, but then they'll be very small, it won't be possible to put them at an angle and the whole build looks way too crowded. So rather do only 3 or 4 houses and the gatehouse. -
[MOC] - Task 4 - Grey Beard Wizard's Cottage
Simon_S replied to cesbrick's topic in Guilds of Historica
If I wouldn't be in Avalonia, I'd write now: Now I really, really, REALLY want to join Avalonia. (I definitely should stop writing these phrases) This build is inspiring, in so many ways. All the details and textures look nice and the colour choices, especially the dark orange roof really makes this pop out. Also, the photos seem to be pretty good, I surely couldn't take better ones. -
Thanks mate! Haha, thank you ME. I think I should take this as a compliment, so thank you ;-). Thanks Dan. I didn't have that eye and I wouldn't bricklink any parts for such a small build... Thank you Gideon. I wanted to avoid to build a usual hospital or something similar, so I went with this and I think it works well.
-
Wow man, very nice job on the working water. It just made this MOC from a good one to an awesome one.
-
Very nice, as usual nice textures on the house and a cool interior. I especially like the green table, it's a good change to the usual brown tables. The first few pictures are very dark and we can't hardly see anything of the house in them, try to take a little brighter ones next time ;-).
