  1. We can twist the words as long as we can, but let's not playing lawyers and politicans here, just because there is no exact definition in written form, we all know what people understand and expect or believe under: "LEGO build". These guys simply ride the LEGO wave, using the reputation of the brand, and they mislead viewers by doing this (on purpose or not, it is whatever). End of story. Personally I don't mind, as it doesn't hurt anyone, I am just worried that comminaciton degrade. Evolution of mankind. LOL <3 Xtreme
  2. Ok, I will make some experiments.
  3. I am not that forgiving in terms of definition. Lets not follow the trend to wash meanings, which basically devalues the words. We invented a very complex communication form by talking, and each word has the adequate role to specify something: material, activity, emotion, behavior, color, ... If there is a definition for LEGO build in human society, and it covers objects made of unmodified pieces which were produced by LEGO company, than this flying thing doesn't meet these requirements, only maybe in 30%. The purists says a MOC must be 100%. Many of us like third party tires, lights, so our limit is ~98%. But 30-40% doesn't fulfill the definition at all. Than how to call it? Flying LEGO plane? No. Experiment using partly Lego pieces? Yes. Or simply by the title they use: like hunting, which is the most cheap and empty recent activity. Language is a "living" entity, but not that much elastic. Simple example: You don't call white light red, just because one of the component is red.
  4. As stated before: this is LEGO art. How did You the transmission render? Is it 2 pictures layered in photoshop? I would like to test how to make such semi-transparent "section"-views.
  5. You get my unofficial "Smallest 8x8 Technic truck ever" title. Great idea and excecution!
  6. You created great balance and amazing performance, reminds me for Ultra4 machines. Love the details, like mirrors and exhaust pipes.
  7. To be honest I am also confused if we can/should (worth) do serious actions, aside giving all our support to the affected MOCers by spreading the word, and not buying from those disrespectful companies. I think this is our main weapon, to spread and clear to people, why it is wrong. We can not eliminate greediness completely, but we can point out that maybe "good" and "respect" are right and longer lasting values than "availability". This goes for many aspect of life, and belong to so called social responsibility. Big name MOCers are also great sources of inspiration for many of us, so yes, it would be noticable hit if they would not share any further...
  8. See my previous comment, but for lazy ones: this issue is not about LEGO vs Lepin, but that Lepin started to steal MOCers (see: members of Eurobricks too, could be any of us) work. This has a direct influence on this community too. The Topic is about IF we can do anything to avoid stealing, IF we want to do anything, IF is it ok if people start to avoid share their MOCs = we might loose the spirit of this and similar communities. Jme Wheeler formulated these issues very well HERE. Please read it carefully, try to understand the long term effects.
  9. Agree with above written, original and very well executed MOC! I love all the fine details in all scenes.
  10. Well, Your comment is not constructive, generalize, and misfire the theme of this topic. Here is talked about a specific case and related to intellectual property. Without any offense I advice You to read again from the beginning.
  11. I love your mechanical solutions, perfect engineering!
  12. It is correct, it uses cardan shaft, like this (not the exact model) - see picture below, reason is that this solution needs much less maintenance, and very durable, which is reasonable at globetrekker and Enduro rides. And they did the front Suspension correctly too! I see many improvement possibilities on optic, but on my list definetely.
  13. An interesting open letter from Jme Wheeler, to be find here: http://www.brickfanatics.co.uk/an-open-letter-to-lepin-from-a-frustrated-lego-builder/ Maybe worth to be frontpaged, to spread the word.
  14. The ultimate Porsche Toyota is in progress... amazing building style, each bit is pure joy. Thank You Madoca!
  15. It loos very promising, I love the headlights! My only concern, that the cab is too long - overlap to front is too big. It would be pity if this great project wouldn't have the right proportions. edit:
  16. 20: 10 37: 6 16: 4 33: 3 19: 2 12: 1 I have 14 entries in my top 3. Fantastic MOCs, thanks for the amusement and inspiration to ALL!
  17. I try to compare by the next (I will do this on weekend so haven't made many thoughts yet): Creativity (idea); Authenticity; Complexity; Appearance; Playability; Presentation; ... These are so far, 1-10 points each, and we will see. The result will be still subjective, but more analytical - all the entries deserve the extra attention.
  18. I love Your Mocs, excellent again, congratulations! Do You have a CLAAS family picture for comparison?
  19. The first time I will (have to :) ) prepare a complex Excel chart for voting, I will give points for all important criteria, than summarize. I assume this will help me to get more objective list in the end. Don't forget to look at the contest as fun in first row, but take it serious, it is a game! :)
  20. This is the strongest contest what I have seen yet, with high quality entries. It would be great, if aside the normal voting, we could give an extra title for the most original and most creative entry too. ;)
  21. Great news with the LDD file, could You please make it as proper C-model for 42053? ;)
  22. Yes, I couldn't find a workaround to place those correctly for some reason. I wish You great fun for building! :)
  23. @aidank: I see, in this case there is another "problem". If I am not mistaken, all Ideas designs belongs to LEGO, as users accepted the terms and conditions. I can not check this right now, please do yourself. I think LEGO did this to avoid the cases, You described.
  24. Very handsome handler, if we can use this term for machines. Good proportions, great details. Another strong entry... waiting for the video!
  25. Thanks Guys! With original wheels it was just too much lime - no pop-out effect, and I wanted to have Hot-Wheels feeling with a bit exaggaration. LXF file available on Rebrickable, Daddy Didomus (would be great name in hip-hop scene! ) for sure can help.
