  1. A very noob question - and sorry for it: have You tried to run in both directions? Maybe it wants only to close the section, which of course lead to clutch gear slipping, as there is no movement left. If not this the case, try to replace the clutch gear with normal gear to see, if the clutch releases too early = too little friction left in it = defect. Are all the pivot points easy and free to move if You deattach the drivetrain? Is the drivetrain closed - no axle slipped out, etc. ?
  2. For me it is not LEGO dedicated, but most probably I put also ON-HOLD on this hobby and sell some stuff. I just don't feel the urge of build for long... but maybe I disassemble my 42043 and will rebuild it - as the best Technic set to date (for me) - or in winter time I will finish my projects. Still, I will keep an eye on the forum.
  3. For the ones, who guess which Mack model will it be: https://www.macktrucks.com/newmack/ What a coincidence, right? I think it will be based on 49,5x20 tires-comparing the silhouettes the parts (antenna, mirror). @steph77 proved already, that beautiful and very functional trucks can be built in that scale.
  4. And than the topic would be full with: "Oh yes, another yellow construction machine... thanks LEGO! (sarcasm)", wouldn't be? An AFOL is hard to please, hehe. Whatever, I think it is a nice line-up, though for me a bit boring as I see cars, cars, cars... so the catamaran is a refreshing something and I am happy about it. Still I must admit I also have feeling, that these sets are much less "serious" in their categories, than some predecessor (9392, 42048, 42028, 42032, 42035,...), and also the pull backs are nowhere that finished as these: https://brickset.com/sets/tag-Pullback-Motor/theme-Technic My gut feeling says: the Mack is something like 9397 - not in scale, but in quality - I smell good stuff here. I hope secretly, we will see some non-vehicle official sets in the future (robotic arm, GBC, chainsaw,...).
  5. I don't want to go off topic much (so please don't pick up this line), and while I do believe that Crowkillers would be really an authentic person for this role, but unfortunately there is a bit conflict of interest. Nonetheless, it is not about to nominate people, but to participate. So anyone, who wants to represent AFOL's interests, here is the possibility!
  6. Sorry to tell, but for me still the same error: Voted - Poll disappears - Refresh (F5) - Voting question appears again, my vote is not registered. Win10 / Chrome
  7. Thanks, and now I discovered the fire extinguisher too - very nice touch, love it! Will You publish this as well on Rebrickable? (One of my Cinderella project is a skidder - a Tigercat, for many many years -, and now You kissed the princess... I put order on 4 wheels, and I have some pneumatics lying around... )
  8. Great video! I would say, don't be afraid to refer to Tigercat 630E / 632E for your MOC, they are closer in proportions than the 610E. http://www.tigercat.com/products/skidders/ On the other hand, I have some constructive criticism: I think the light effects are good, but this time it is overused on your photos, it creates too much bling-bling effect (nice for rap videos though), especially with blurring - you don't need that. The operation of the clutches is a bit strange - though I have no idea yet how to solve it in a C-model, and without destroying the overall good shape. I still don't get why to start new topic for finished MOC, instead of renaming the WIP topic. In that case we could also see the whole history of the model, and enjoy the journey of the building anytime we come back here. Now you cut the story in half...
  9. Awesome C model (again) - especially that I like skidders a lot! Looks 42054 has one of the best potential for C-models. I would only remove the small white panels, they just not matching in color scheme. Overall, I am very impressed, excellent work. EDIT: Does the pendular suspension work properly? Don't the wheels touching the engine hood (looks very close to me)?
  10. Such clever solutions and details everywhere, again a true masterpiece proves that small is just as great as bigger models. I admire your skills, hat off.
  11. Voted (for 1), after sending, the results are not visible. After refresh with F5, I was redirected to voting, and I could vote agan (this time for 2). Results are still not visible. EDIT: I logged out to see the results, and none of my votes are indicated (just like in the previous locked topic). There is two possibilities: 1. The poll doesn't work properly. 2. My person is so underwhelming and out of interest, that even a script in internet ignores my presence...
  12. Very same here, on Win10. On the side note, the mobile view on phone was till yesterday a bit strange, the page numbers were in collision with the labels (tags) of the topics. Anyway, something is changed, it looks OK now.
  13. That is one direction, but every coin has two sides. Maybe TLG didn't understand what the market means under "Ultimate", and what should be offered if You label the product with this word. Also don't forget, that they communicated very poorly with cheap excuses after the claims appeared through the whole internet. Whatever which is the case, I see also a corrective action by this event, which is welcoming - so such inconvenient situation will not happen again... I hope this is the drive.
  14. First filter: the candidate will be thrown into infuriated crowd to explain 4 reverse gears, and shifting sequence 1-3-2-4. Survived = passed. Bit serious: I think this is a nice move, LEGO Top Gear on the way?
  15. @Anio With your posterior approval I share here, on service of the community and sticker haters (me included). Anio made his video reviews for techlug.fr - as usual, he built the models without stickers. Seeing these, I really don't see the necessity of the stickers - and especially in that amount as in this year. https://www.youtube.com/user/setechnic/videos
  16. Delicious review, clearly seen the affection of the author for it. It is a car, but still something surprisingly different, so I am welcoming the treads. My only notice, that the gauge should be narrower, and normal wheel hubs could have been used in favor of normal wheel replacement. But this is still something easy to change in case.
  17. +1 to this, despite the red panels it looks surprisingly whole. Still, easy to remove for those, who doesn't like it much. I am seriously impressed with the result till now, fantastic job!
  18. This is a great idea for C-model, and You did very well to date. I really like the overall shape, and the cabin+front area. What will be the functions with the gearbox? If those will be not effected, than I suggest to put the BB on the top as part of the spraying tank: the tank would be built around the BB - just an idea.
  19. I want pieces randomly on the table. I don't care numbered bags, for me building LEGO official sets is ZEN. Finding parts is a great separation method from the rushing, stressed outer world. That's why I don't understand the race on building time neither - but everybody does on her/his own way.
  20. I start with the bad: I see no reason to start a new topic for the finished MOC. Now to the good: I love this MOC, complex, interesting, nicely shaped. Great job! Edit: extra thumb up for the logo.
  21. Very good MOC, I like the size, I like the functions, I like the playability. Well executed concept!
  22. I am sad to say, the best part of this set, is Jim's review. Excellent evening reading, thanks for that! There is a tiny typo: L motor instead of XL.
  23. Beautiful and detailed review as always, thank you Sariel! I think it is a great feedback to TLG, which reflects the opinion well of many of us. Though, totally agree with Erik in the above written. Also what I really miss: if there is gearbox position, where You can roll the truck by hand, and rotate freely the steering, than an additional HOG would have been a really-really nice feature. @Sariel: The steering angle is also disappointing, is there space to increase it with easy modification? As the sets are tested by children initially befor finalizing the design (as seen previously in the 8275 designer video), I am really surprised about the performance... As a small kid I would have expect to drive such a big rough truck trough pretty much on everything, with devastating result on the obstacle. I know that every generation is different - as always, but was it really enough to have it big, and cool looking? I tried to like this set, as the appearance is badass, and I like the gearbox, the outriggers, the crane (which looks also unfinished), but as @MajklSpajkl said too, it is a missed opportunity in many aspects. If it drives remotely, than remote should work properly - it is a known pain for years, presented in the video properly. If it is called All-terrain truck, it should climb well, it should be powerfull as hell Me neither can justify the price tag, I just don't see where is the money gone... springs, working front suspension, +1 XL motor for drive should have been part of the package. For 200-210 Euro RRP it would be totally fine for me as it is. Overall, I feel like the 9397 logging truck (RRP: 119 Euro) is the same category technically and in functions as 42070. Both have nice gearbox solutions, clever motorized outriggers and crane, drivetrain, 4 cylinder engine. 42070 is... well, just bigger and azure pimped. The suspension and remote driving basicly do not add anything as advantage, as they practically useless (as I see).
  24. Very well captured shapes, perfect size. I don't really care about realistic chassis, I always look for interesting engineering, clever solutions and aesthetic experience. Scrolled through the instructions, I am pleased in every aspects. Thank You @Madoca 1977!
  25. Hmmm, looks like the moulding machines had a BLUEkakke party recently... Seeing that poor bear, I wouldn't be surprised about further reveals of dirty engineering at Lego's house.
