Settlement: Weelond, An Holli, Eslandola
Kai NRG replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The Merchant's Colonial Trading Company is pleased to announce that in recognition of his good services and his evident interest in seeing this colony succeed, Willem Guilder has been appointed mayor of Weelond! In celebration of the occasion, MCTC will now permit any member of Eslandola, Corrington, Oleon, or even a Sea Rat to own property in Weelond! That's right, owning property in Weelond is now open to everyone!- 80 replies

Nice build! The palm trees are great and I really like the hints of olive in the grass! The different colors of sand are nice too! The second picture is much better because it doesn't have the harsh sunlight shadows.

A very interesting idea, sounds like something those impractical dreamy Corries would do. I really like the orientation of the black cheese slopes on top!- 15 replies

Settlement: Weelond, An Holli, Eslandola
Kai NRG replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Guy K. Wyndzon sat at his desk thumbing through letters after returning from a futile search after the rest of the board members. Each of them had good excuses for why the next meeting could wait until tomorrow. Presently a valet came in and placed a new letter on the corner of the desk. Guy eyed the new letter rather angrily. "When is my Uncle going to get back?" Suddenly there was a rush in the hallway and then a booming voice said, "Yep, hangings all done, and good riddance to the lubbers! - where's my nephew, George?" Guy threw open the door and exclaimed, "You're just in time, Uncle!" He waved the new letter in his right hand. "And there's a meeting tomorrow, too. No need to ask how the hangings went - you look pleased as punch - they obviously came off well." "Well, I don't know quite that - the pirate managed to escape but I gave him a good warning and I had to leave the second one in the hands of a bunch of savages, but I dare say he'll get a fine fright! What's that letter about?" "I don't know - you tell me." Guy's Uncle took the letter and went into the library and sat down. He read it through and then said, "It's an application from Willem Guilder; he's applying to be mayor of Weelond." "Oh, that's all? We can take care of that next meeting I suppose. Now tell me more about those hangings!"- 80 replies

I can't answer your first question, but to this one: if you are keeping track of your earnings you may spend as much as you have. If you go over (literally in the red) you will be hung by your toes from a palm tree. Also, if you go over, you may be granted a line of credit should the leaders be feeling compassionate (in which case be sure to factor that in to the next months earnings!), or your licenses may be cancelled to the amount necessary.

We may be able to find another excuse to hang people. Thanks! Thank you! Well, it would be kind of mean to actually hang the person, just for going 3 DBs over. Of course it's your choice whether to approve or not, but I do think it's a bit different from the other scene, a totally different type of palm tree, very different minifigures, slightly different border style, and different sand style (besides being a great deal smaller with no water). But that's your call! Cross me and you'll be hung by your toes from a palm tree! Thanks Garmadon! At least I found something for Guy's Uncle to do. Thank you!

Guy K. Wyndzon dropped into a chair in his elaborate library, a poorly folded missive in his right hand. He opened it up, scowling, "When is my Uncle gonna be back? I can't stand this part of the business! And he's out there having fun hanging people by their toes from palm trees...!" Guy winked with one eye, cocked his head, grit his teeth, and tried to read the scribbled writing. "It says... to the honorable me... Bardo is in trouble... blahblahblah...hugs and wha...?!?" He glared at the signature. "Your darling forever? I didn't know I had a darling. What baloney people write! I think I'll put this in the box of kindling." Three days later the maid whistled as she dragged an armful of kindling to the fireplace. She tossed in scraps of wood and paper and set up a nice fire. Then she struck a match and lit the nearest piece of paper. As the flames curled she read, "the MCTC appoints a man we trust utterly, Colonel Oystrigde, in command of local matters." Colonel Oystrigde? Never heard of him! The maid met Guy in the hallway and congratulated him on finally having a mayor for Bardo. "I know you've been wanting one for a while now!" "Wait... we have a mayor in Bardo?" "Yeah - you know - Colonel Oystrigde." "Who?!" "Well, I just noticed his name on that letter." "Letter? What letter?" "Of course I wasn't looking in your desk!" the maid responded in an aggrieved tone. "It was in the box of kindling, of course!" "Oh! You mean - that letter - it was about a new mayor - you didn't burn it did you?!?!?!" "Of course I burned it! It was in the box of kindling!" "Ohhhh." Guy groaned. Suddenly he dashed out of the room. "Uncle! Uncle! Bah - he's still out hanging people - Sam!" he shouted to his valet - "Fetch the carriage - we're off to the headquarters to call a meeting!" OOC: In other words, your application has been received and is under consideration!- 42 replies

"I speek liddle Eelanda. You speek me." "Well I'm relieved to find someone with a civilized tongue in his head! Listen man, that guy - Leon - he's in debt and needs to be hung by his toes from a palm tree." "Us give Lin tree?" "No! Don't give him a tree! Hang him on a tree! You know, hang!" "Haang? Me no know haang." "Yes, you do - rope, toes, up in tree - you get it!" "Wee cut off toes and put dem in tree wid rope?" "No! Just put rope around the toes and hang the rope from the tree!" "Oh - like dis?" The islander made a few elaborate moves that suggested that he had understood. "And we leave - until die?" "Do whatever you please!" The islander turned to the chief and spoke a few quick words in his native tongue. The chief responded, and the islander interpreted, "But how for?" "What for? Because he went in debt, of course!" "Debet?" "Debt - you know, when you owe someone money." "Oh? Munay?" "Oh forget it!" "Forget oh? But munay?" "No! Just - who cares why?" "Wat dat you say?" "It doesn't matter!" "But how for we put rope on toes - tree?" "For whatever reason you please!" "It will please de gods?" "It will please me! Listen, man, Leon is in debt and I've promised to hang him by his toes from a palm tree. If you don't understand that, it's just too bad. Take the blue beads and hang the guy!" The islander shrugged. He turned to the king and said, "It will please the gods." The king stroked his beard. "And the Eelanda will give us blue beads." "We will do it." The islander turned a happy face to Guy's Uncle. "Wee do it." "Very good!" --- "Let me go!" "What are you doing? Eslandola will make you rue the day you laid a hand on me! - Where are you taking me?" "Wee do a ting wid you - it please de gods." "What?!? Are you - going to - sacrifice me?!" "Wee taak you - put you in tree. Bah! You see - minnut." "Get me down from here! You have no right to hang an Eslandian citizen!" Leon kicked and wriggled, and soon found that the primitive rope wasn't very strong. "Cooom back!" roared the translator as Leon dashed away. An overview shot: And a bonus picture of the palm tree! This is my third free-build so far this month. Titus went 3 DBs in the red in January I believe, and I wasn't going to let the opportunity slip! Comments are welcome!

Kai NRG replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The bright colors here really liven things up and the whole thing is in a great Eslandian style! Fountains on the roof is quite an interesting idea as well - that would probably be a bit of an engineering feat! -

MCTC and ETWC at least have their own accounts. I think MAESTRO will have one soon too. As to how to fill those accounts - that's up to the TC to find a way; members can pitch in to buy a TC license where the proceeds go to the TC which can then pay them back, or something like that.
