Up until recently I had kept them intact alongside my MOCs and other Modular Buildings that I'd built from 3rd party plans. But they looked out of place amongst my sprawling economically deprived city so one by one I'm converting them into something more relevant. The Palace Theater was the first to go http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=96512. For sure it was a modest change - more one of function than form, but after the images in the thread were taken I subsequently replaced the original walls with a motley selection of well abused white bricks (from a 2nd hand bulk lot of bricks). This has liberated a whole stack of bricks into my inventory. The next one I change will be more dramatic as I'm going to hack the City Hall by losing the classical architectural details into more modern looking, run-down vacant office space and I'm currently working out what to do with the Fire Station. I'll post pictures of both when I'm finished. I say Tear it down! Build it up!

When I first saw this on my phone I thought it was very Metroliner looking, but that was wrong - it's bang up to date in a retro kind of way with a great looking interior! Superb! I hope you're going to Brick it in real life?

Have you considered Etsy? Low cost, low overheads. Here's a link to one of the shops there https://www.etsy.com/shop/ABSDistributors Or there's always a eBay or Bricklink shop option.

This has been a great series to follow. I keep waiting for a Cavendish build, but I guess that'll be broken for a while. :(

I consider my MOCs (and even the official Lego Modular buildings) to be transient. They'll be kept around untouched for a while, but they'll get recycled if: I think I can improve the design I need the pieces for something even more awesome I'm running out of space I keep images on Flickr of most my older buildings for reference but so far I have no remorse about the wanton destruction. As for some numbers I've built and posted 31 different MOCs in Eurobricks over the last two and a half years - and there's currently only 12 still standing. It's Lego and you can always rebuild!

Magnificent! Good luck at the Exhibition.

Great scenes and great techniques! I love the brickwork on the bridge, the building with the exposed rooms, the graffiti on the Fox building, the green colors of the waterway and was that Mad Max's Interceptor I saw? Superb! Chapeau Domino39!

I like the range of scales you've got going on here - it seems like a natural and effective progression. And as for the Min and 2CV being 5-wide I think that that the two 4-wide Smart Cars that came with the 7939 Yellow Cargo Train validate that scale.

It looks good - plenty of bustling activity and a striking set of colors.

Road ramp for 2 level display cases
eurotrash replied to Dat Lego's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If space is limited and the angle for the road too steep have you considered building a lift for the vehicles? It'd take up less space and require less bricks. -
There's some really good looking Fire equipment and Ambulances in there, but it'll be easier for people to see them (and comment) if you embed the images I really like this one.

Another BL order. This time for more pieces for the Trailer Park, another Airstream and the embryonic Strip Mall.

You've picked yourself a very difficult subject to build. The Dance of the Seven Veils needs something where the fabric is more gauzy, more ethereal, more wafty and diaphanous . I've been scratching my head as to how you could do this in Lego but I got stumped........on the other hand you've got a great starting point for a Hula girl!

Lovely build Hobbythom! Your interiors are always well done and this is no exception. The restaurant area looks exactly as it should and the upstairs apartment is well laid out. I really like the dual-frontage you've got with the front and rear of the building - that's a nice touch and it's always a pleasure seeing a glimpse of the inside corner Asian restaurant (I was checking that out again recently and it still remains one of my favorite modulars). More please?

100% Lego flight attempt
eurotrash replied to Doc_Brown's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I've a couple of ideas. You tried in one of the attempts to get the base of the copter off the ground by using a small stand. Make that stand taller to give you more clearance for the props to work because at the moment it's just sweeping the air away and not (I'm guessing) providing much lift. You might try making that central gap (between the four orientated arms) larger and use a controlling rod through that newly enlarged hole to provide guidance until the beast is airborn. Attach string to the top of the copter. Lift it off the ground (to provide clearance for the lower set of props) and see if it can lift itself once the motors are released. If it doesn't do that then it's not going to get airborn Just my 5c worth! -
MOC - modular, modular, MODULAR my first complete one

Blimey! Who are you and what have you done with the real LT? Are we going to see a ransom demand next? Seriously though. It looks really good. I like the inverted slopes on the front, the 1x2 grille detailing on the facade, the interior design bits and the pullout sections. Tip of the hat LT! -
Superb! Great job capturing the front end and the swept forward sides.
-
Wow! I distinctly remember that front end of the 331 (though I don't recall that particular set) It seemed to be used on so many vehicles from that era. Those doors and grill were certainly iconic. As for the rework you've definitely captured the essence of the original and bought it bang up to date. Nice job!

Mad Max's Truck! I like it! The hood is a good looking shape. I think we all need to see you do an 8-wide version...... and get the Feral kid in there as well.
-
I saw the title of the thread an immediately thought of http://youtu.be/pw8PpYBiDsc I like what you've done - especially the inverted rockwork. It looks good!
-
I like it! It's a good idea and I love the interior displays, but that facade on the front needs something to make it pop - an exhibit like the Star Wars theme would have something that really stands out. How about an X Wing mounted on the front? or orbiting the Death Star above using a simple technic gear and radius?. Or how about Legohaulics excellent lettering from the recent Iron Builder competition https://www.flickr.com/photos/legohaulic/14101321745?, or a giant sized Darth Vader helmet? Thanks for sharing it with us!
