  1. Great work developing a civilization type that gets very little use in the guilds Lady Tanaja, King Nerezar, and Lost Ronin are my favorite minifigures
  2. Brilliant little boat The sail setup is tremendous The way you have the water one plate higher than the border gives a lovely look here
  3. I agree with Titus, the sunken house is really neat Quite an intriguing storyline, not sure I would want to be stranded on that island Great use of some unusual parts for plants
  4. Category A: Norya Citadel
  5. This was the last of my Colossal Castle Contest entries (number 6). The Fantasy Fortress category really intrigued me, and I hoped to have more time to make an entry for it, but still had fun with this small citadel. The colorscheme was definitely inspired by John’s Gondolin build. You will also want to see John's CMF series, and Forest creation, which both give more detail about the Isle of Alnya. Not all Dwelfs (a smaller than average people with pointed ears who are skilled in craftsmanship and animal husbandry; they are also fun-loving to the point of being mischievous) live in the forest, and the nobility of the race often have beautiful palaces built. Such is the case for the Norya family, who have long dwelt in a fine citadel built on Posel Lake. Today Oryn and Ailas had visited The Green Goblet in Allanar Forest. Tanelia was scheduled to perform, and it had been a few months since they had last heard the minstrel's lovely melodies. And while they were there they also enjoyed some of Nyna's delicous dishes - even bringing some home for their father Arun. "You should have come along, Ryfon," called Ailas as they approached the dock. "Another day I would have been only too happy to visit The Green Goblet, but you know I am on duty now," replied Ryfon. He had served the Norya family for years, and was now the head of their men-at-arms. Oryn quickly winked at the soldier and stated, "Well, we brought some fresh treats back from Nyna, and gave her your regards. Rydel said to let you know you can hunt with him tomorrow if your old legs can still keep up." The three continued chattering about the trip as they docked the boat, and headed up the steps into the palace. More pictures on brickbuilt. I was hoping to get more built for the Safe Haven challenge, but unfortunately wasn't able to complete anything else. Still, it was a lot of fun creating Alyna with John, and I'm having just as much fun admiring all of the other new lands!
  6. Excellent use of color throughout the ship, and I particularly like the capes used as a roof The blades laid around the ship as wake give it a great look of movement
  7. Lovely observatory - the way you handled the roof and telescope connection is superb The functions hidden in each building are very impressive too!
  8. Some really fun steampunk characters here! I also really like the golden golem, though the carrier bot is another super neat fig
  9. Thank you! We thought it would be easiest to post all of them in their own topic, though we have also now inked to this in the Guides and Indices topic. Another tutorial: Simple Angled Wall
  10. Collection of Medieval Tutorials.
  11. Wonderful brewery! The main big barrel is superb of course, but I also really like the stonework of the building, and small details included in the landscape and fig posing The fence and cart finish the scene nicely
  12. Looks like a very pleasant inn to stay at! Tremendous use of dark orange, and then the flesh plates for the dirt outside also look tremendous Great picnic tables!
  13. Some great use of plates to create the hull of the ship! And I'm very impressed that you also fit an interior inside Fun story to accompany the build as well
  14. How about these? Their height can be adjusted easily
  15. Thank you! I enjoy building wintry scenes so this was a really fun model Thanks Titus! Making the different details for each house, yet keeping the same style for all of them, was a neat challenge Thanks Mike! I was roughly basing the build off of an illustration from a Jan Brett book, which had a bunch of completely snow covered roofs that made me realize I hadn't done those yet. The dormers did get a bit hidden in the end They just happened to fit best on that building though. Thank you Thanks Robert! Glad o hear you enjoyed the woodcarvers and bridge Thanks! Thank you Thanks Kai! I was pretty pleased with the display shelf in the bakery Thanks Gideon! I ended up shooting pictures twice, as the first ones were usually not focused well enough. Thank you Thanks! The river technique I have used several times now, after seeing Simon Schweyer use it. Thank you, it was great fun building the clocktower, and getting to use the lovely printed clock dishes. Thanks I may make a larger model of Daydelon at some point, but in the meantime you may enjoy my past Daydelon and Nordheim builds which often have a similar style to this. Thank you! Thanks Thank you
  16. Thanks, glad you could see the Skyrim influence easily! Thanks Garmadon, John feels the same way The chest design was my favorite detail, so I'm glad you like it, and that you noticed the cup design. Thank you! Thanks, everyone loves a good chest full of loot Thanks Kai! The birch trees were fun to build. Thanks Gideon, I built the tower first, and was surprised at how big of a landscape was required for it to fit. Thanks Titus! The crossed gables were something I knew I had to include. Feel free to borrow the roof support design! Thanks Blufiji! Thank you
  17. Thank you very much, Orange Leader Thanks Puvel! This rockwork design was easier to build than I had expected, so I will probably be using it again. Thanks Kai, the nest had me stumped on how to approach it, so I just started throwing some plates together, and liked the affect they gave. Thanks Titus Thank you! Thanks Mike! Thank you, I haven't built the green dragon myself either, though I would imagine it uses some similar designs. Thanks man! Great suggestions for the dragon, I may try to incorporate some of those for a new version of him (if he stays together ). Thanks dG, there will be a tutorial for the rocks. In fact I already have pictures, just need to finish editing them and get the post written Thanks Garmadon! The dragon wings were a present from John, and I thought it was time to give them some use Thank you! Thanks Gideon! Thanks Maestro, I'm really enjoying having more dark green landscape parts to work with Thanks Blufiji! Thank you HQ And thanks for your input on the dragon! It was what I built first, and likely suffered a bit from me being impatient and wanting to get the build done.
  18. Massive haven that certainly looks like a formidable fortress to try and capture! Having multiple buildings connected by bridges gives a lovely layout Very pretty detailing on the top of the tallest tower Excellent trees too, and the goblin under the bridge is a fun hidden touch
  19. The tan with dark bley does give a nice impression of Kaliphlin influence I like the little details of well, tree stump, and forestman sneaking up the tower. Pretty cool trees too
  20. The white flowers look so pretty! I think your rockwork turned out well, as Titus said there is one section that's a bit flat, but overall the effect is good Clever ladder design in the watchtower
  21. Gorgeous colors The round tiles used for the stonework look wonderful, and the small details piled around the house look great The thickness of the irregular base gives a neat look as well
  22. Great to see such a large chunk of Zotharith at once! The various wooden bridges tying things together, angled buildings, and small details really bring the village to life. Some nicely incorporated interiors too, despite the limited space you had to work with
  23. My 5th entry for the Colossal Castle Contest, into the Village Life category. Credit for the pine tree design goes to Chris Maddison, who recently shared his design in a tutorial here. The build fits on a 48×48 baseplate, and three of the buildings have interiors (pull out rooms). Daydelon has plenty of excellent shops to meet your various needs. Brianna’s Bakery, Tryggr’s Supplies, and the Toy Shop are all located on the first stretch of the main street. Even in the winter the city keeps bustling, with the frozen river providing a great place for children to skate and the snow covered streets still see plenty of traffic from dog sleds and others. And as usual, you can find plenty more pictures on brickbuilt. Thank you for looking
  24. The storehouse is very nicely incorporated into the hillside It would have been really fun to have a cut-away in the back showing the provisions inside
