So glad that Varlyrio got opened up so we see more builds like this! Wonderful use of color, and the whole scene looks very lively. Great touch with the dark tan wall/gateway just visible in the background And the rounded corner to the canal wall is top notch!

From the dragon figure head to the Avalonian colors, it's easy to see where this ship belongs. Fun use of elves fences for the cabin windows, and the ship has a nice amount of cargo visible

The rockwork is really eye catching, and while the color mixing/ratios could be refined, it does give a nice unique Kaliphlin look Neat plant designs, and the interiors are excellent too. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!

Plenty of cool minifigures, that all fit together well to give a good idea of the inhabitants of Lesser Burren With some more practice and experience I'm sure your photography will improve. Often that's the most challenging aspect of sharing LEGO builds to start with. One thing that easily helps presentation is having a smooth solid background of a single color. Some large sheets of poster board, or good sized pieces of non-wrinkled fabric can work well. Even something like a t-shirt. I've found Ikea Tupplur Blackout roller blinds to work best for me, though those have a bit more cost associated with them.

Great use of the SNOT carpet design The three stained glass windows make a nice focal point in the center of the room, and it is well furnished. Though obviously the large table is the best item of furniture

Lovely Kaliphlin setting. Builds like this are what make the southern guild so attractive I love the square column setup you used over the gate, and the walls stepping out a stud half way up is a neat design. Plenty of Kaliphlin banners around too! Very excited to see Fel's story continue- 24 replies

Glad to see you continue your Mesozoic builds I like how you used crenelations to make a 'border' on the front two sides. And the forced perspective views through the archways are incredible The use of tan as the primary color, plus nice splashes of brighter shades works really well here too

The four modules all fit together nicely, and give a very consistent look for Sorgheim Plenty of good minifigure posing to bring life to the scene as well

Book III - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
soccerkid6 replied to soccerkid6's topic in Guilds of Historica
Haha, you're always welcome to visit Mitgardia Great to have you in the North! I think you'll really enjoy the relaxed pace of the guilds I've added Ygnvi to the members index Is that a custom decal for his shield? It looks fantastic! -
Cool to see sand green used so heavily in a castle build. Though I think the wall could be improved by crenelations at the top, and perhaps using tiles instead of the clips. Lovely longhouse with the diamond designs, SNOT dark tan portion, and rows of windows The stone foundation and stairs by the entrance to the manor are lovely as well

Book III - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

You picked the right guild @(Luc)ky Luke And you can certainly start a new town Ronan has been added to the members list -
The comic style story is fine, if you like that format As Gideon mentioned, you could easily include a couple overview type shots free of any text/editing to meet challenge requirements if needed. Brilliant dialogue between Arun and Grep Can't wait to see more of their banter in the future! Neat landscape with the path leading up through the rocks. The 1x4 tile, 1x4 plate, and 2x2 plate in green look a little blocky over the large bright green plates. If you have some other small green plates or tiles, grouping a few more in an organic pattern would look more natural I think. Or just leaving those few green plates/tiles off completely would work fine here

@Stash2Sixx Super excited to have you back in Mitgardia! John and I would have loved to have met you at Brickworld. Too bad about the broken elbows (heard about that from some of the other EB crew when there too). As Alfadas said, somewhere near Vaholl should work well for that sort of climate. Likely near the mountain range to the west of Vaholl, or on the southern side of Mt. Mitgard @Alfadas There hasn't been much representation of the Orcish marches in the past. I would assume there are indeed a significant amount of orcs there. Though I would not advise attacking any fellow Mitgardians, whatever their race. -

@CaptainAaron Excellent! I've added you to our quickly growing list of members -
The combination of macaroni tiles on the wall, the dinosaur tails curved beam, and curved slopes topping the walls give a very unique and ornate style I also like how you used a wedge plate and 1x1 quarter circle tile to give a rounded front corner to the base. Though I do think a little more color implemented besides reddish brown would make the scene pop more. For instance, the books on the bookshelf are a neat detail that almost gets lost because it is brown on brown. Or maybe some brighter transparent colors as stained glass in the windows?

Dwellings of Mitgardia - MCB Book III
soccerkid6 replied to soccerkid6's topic in Guilds of Historica
Yes, if fitting. For example, the House phases would almost certainly work well as Dwellings of Mitgardia. In fact, that was where I found the example builds @MKJoshA That was quick! I'll get Grevling Manor added to the first post soon, and you've earned the title: Citizen of Mitgardia. -

Looking forward to seeing that! -
Nicely composed village setting. The jumble of buildings with a house and small shed near the mill works very smoothly. And you made good use of the two tudor portions - they add some nice contrast to all of the other stone walls Beautiful landscaping as well! Such a significant slope makes the terrain way more interesting than a typical flat base would have. And the little garden area has some lovely details with the clever cobblestone design, low stone wall, and fun plants

Book III - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
soccerkid6 replied to soccerkid6's topic in Guilds of Historica
You are welcome to create builds developing your own character's story, and that also may tie into general happenings in the Guilds. Not every build has to be about your character, just some aspect of life in the Guilds of Historica, you're even allowed to build scenes set in the other guilds! When official challenges come out, there will be more specific build prompts to follow. Glad you like it, and yup, no end date -

@The Stad @MKJoshA Thanks guys! Edited the first post to include your updated info @meepinater Glad to have you in the north! I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of Isengrin, and hearing more of his misadventures @CaptainAaron If you would like to write up a bio following the format in the first post, I can add Arun (and Grep ) to our members list. Also I just opened a new Mitgardian Community Build for Book III! Dwellings of Mitgardia I'm hoping to do a build for it myself before too long, and it would likely be an especially fitting task for some of you newer members. -
Mitgardia is home to a diverse range of inhabitants, and each and every one of them has a place they call home. Whether that be dwarven halls, norse cottages, elaborate castles, orc strongholds, or any other personal dwelling. Dwellings of Mitgardia Community Build Open to all Mitgardians, here is a new community build to encourage the development of Mitgardian dwellings across our mighty guild. Task: - Build a home for your character, or another Mitgardian citizen - No minimum or maximum size - Any scale allowed (micro, minifigure, etc.) - Interiors are encouraged, but not required - There is no limit on the number of dwellings you can create - Post a link to your completed builds here Award: Each dwelling will be added to a illustrated index in this post to serve as inspiration for future Mitgardian builds, and also to give a good idea of the sorts of dwellings found in Mitgardia. Also, completing a dwelling will earn you the title of Citizen of Mitgardia. Example builds (from Book II): Index:
