  1. Very promising rock design, I'm sure as you used it more you would get even better with the technique Neat combination of colors for the tree too. It's always fun putting the bag accessory to use, and it gives a nice load for the wagon here
  2. Large Onion Dome Tutorial
  3. Yes! The guilds need more dragon influence again
  4. Great to see that Book III will be kicking off soon! Now would be a good time for some of us to invite our LEGO building friends, who aren't already in the guilds, to join in on the fun
  5. The Summer Joust is back for 2018! With 6 new categories and 17 prizes, there is something for everyone. Check out all the details in the dedicated flickr group.
  6. What a beautiful countryside Just the right amount of flowers and grass in the landscape, along with a great mix of olive green and regular green makes for a very attractive Avalonian setting The barn is my favorite building, with the lovely stone corners and plank walls. It looks like a productive farm too! Great wheat field and pig pen
  7. Here's a good reason to do some GoH building again! The Summer Joust is back with 6 new categories, and is open through July 31st. Last year the guilds were very well represented, especially in the teamwork category, and I'm hoping even more of you get in on the fun this year
  8. Very fitting building for Beorn. The various stone and wood portions are combined beautifully And that landscape is superb! Great irregular edge and color use It's also good to see you including plenty of animals, since they're such a significant part of Beorn's residence. If you have any more dark green leaves, I think the trees in the back could benefit from additional foliage. Though I well understand the challenge of never having enough leaves
  9. The steep sloping roof that runs all the way down to the ground on one side really nails the Norse aesthetic And while dark blue roofs can often give a fantasy vibe, it still looks realistic in the setting you've created. Tremendous cut-away to show the interior. It gives a nice clear view while still clearly representing the 'missing' walls' materials and location Plenty of neat details outside the building, with the lever base flowers and rounded model edges. Overall a very polished build that is one of my favorites from you so far! Fun to see the image that inspired the model as well
  10. It's always good to see Mitgardians return! Would love to have you building regularly again EDIT: New freebuild
  11. Those are some fantastic wooden walls! Palisade bricks can be tricky to work with, but you made excellent use of them here! Once again the sloped walls are top-notch, and the bastion adds an extra sense of strength to the wall. The timber framing on the back with dirt path inside works beautifully, and is a great way to give access to the wall top without using stairs or ladders Good to see some rocks in the dirt outside the wall as well
  12. Lovely start to your gatehouse builds! That sloped wall design is fabulous, and is something I could see being useful in a lot of different settings Nice work making the stone portions of the wall look believably ancient, while it's obvious that the wood additions are much more recent. Like John, I think the use of SNOT 2x2 round bricks over the gateway is very neat, gives a good impression of a large timber beam. As others have already mentioned, the dark tan dirt does look a bit plain in sections. The torches and ladders on the back platforms are nice little finishing touches
  13. Glad to hear that! As to the guilds' inactivity currently, it just seems to be going through one of its periodic dry spells. Hopefully it will pick back up again after Brickworld. Personally, I got out of the habit of regularly posting here, and have been busy building for some other commitments. That said, I'm trying to get back into the flow of things, and will have some new builds before too long, and may be posting some older models that I had never gotten around to putting here.
  14. Very pretty build! I'm partial to stone walls like this, where there isn't a lot of texture, but instead purposeful patterns to give visual interest The windows shape and color fits nicely within Nocturnus and the story-line is quite amusing
  15. Very cool stilt structure The chest lid as a flower box on the porch is a neat design, and I like your palm tree technique that manages to avoid using the typical palm tree leaf elements. Excellent irregular sandy base too
  16. Sorry about that mccoyed, don't know how I missed all of those before. They had been posted in this topic, right?
  17. Congratulations on winning! The overall style to the vehicle is adorable And it's so well equipped!
  18. The irregular base works beautifully here - especially have you have a 'floating' portion under the tree The mix of regular green and dark green is very smoothly done And the various angles of the tower are incorporated well. It's an excellent build! Nifty little wheelbarrow filled with plants too
  19. It's great to see this massive layout completed! The gatehouse and path leading up to it are fabulous, and the whole fortress has a very consistent style How long do you think you will keep it together?
  20. Welcome to the guilds! Zlatan and Faladrin did a good job describing what it takes to join Guilds of Historica. Have fun picking your guild, and feel free to ask questions in the topic that Faladrin linked to
  21. Good to see your story continuing! The main building is impressive with its multi-tiered roof and red accents Lovely thatched roofs made of tan plates
  22. Wonderful collaboration! You two certainly didn't skimp on details, and it's a pleasure looking through all the pictures. That toy boat design is perfect! The black and white house is especially pretty, as are the little bridges Nice touch with the little cave too! John and I have a tutorial on angled rockwork, that I think uses a similar design to Geneva's and Isaiah's.
  23. My entry for the Fictional Architecture category of Marchitecture. I chose to recreate Lichtenstein Castle, which is a real building, but is also used as the castle in Dornröschen – a 2009 German film adaptation of Sleeping Beauty. The model certainly had its challenges, but I’m very pleased with the end result. Credit for the bridge design goes to John, who helped me out with that portion. Plenty more pictures are available on Brickbuilt. Feedback always appreciated
  24. And here are the titles some of you have earned! @Gunman has gained the titles of Innkeeper, Protector, and Gatekeeper. @soccerkid6 earned the titles of Vendour, Miller, Lord Mayor, and Agrarian. Also the first post will be updated when Kabel or Ecc has time to post the updated scorecard.
