Awesome build! My favorite details are the writing on the chalkboard and the guy puking. And using the heart tile as a heart is great, too.

Well, both. Zîrân is what the name is in the Cedrican dialect of Modern Historican, whereas Zîrâd is the Albionish dialect form. They are both derived from the Old Historican Zîrând, an ancient term meaning “Wave tossed,” commonly bestowed as a surname to survivors of shipwreck of unknown descent. Zîra, as is well-attested, is Old Historican for “wave” and the -nd ending gives it a sense of “the one who does a thing”, similar to an -or or -er ending in English (e.g. actor or painter). So it’s got the sense of “Waver”, one who waves, that is, one who rides the waves (as distinct from the act of waving a hand in greeting, I mean, and also distinct from the trade of the sailor, which gets a different term, natând, from nata, ship). When Old Historican spread and aged, certain regions dropped part of the ending. Speakers in Cedrica clipped the D from the end, whereas those in Albion dropped the N in spelling but nasalized the D (try saying a D sound but keep all the sound in your nose). Other regions kept the -ND but added an A at the end, like in parts of Kaliphlin, where the name would be Djirânda, or even added an I between the N and D, like in Southern Mitgardia, where you might encounter a Zhoranid. All of this is extensively researched and documented by the eminent philologists at the University of Petrea, particularly the learned Villim Gremm. Gremm’ s History of Old Historican should be on every aspiring student of language’s bookshelf, and his philological laws are taken as revealed by an oracle from the divine (though some, particularly the small contingent of Ulandians on the faculty, led by Professor Gaius Severus, cast some doubts as to the accuracy of his reconstruction of Proto-Old Historican).

I’m inclined to agree with left, though either would doubtless work.

Oh no, every square stud of Historica has been mapped with exact precision by the Royal Wizard Lord Musk’s magical orbs, his Grand Link of Stars, as well as by the Grand Order Of Great Legendary Explorers (sometimes abbreviated as G.O.O.G.L.E.) and their perfectly up-to-date maps that even show how long it will take to travel by horse from Albion to Cedrica given current road conditions…

The island off of Avalonia is not Varlyrio, that much is certain. Somewhere off the big map of all the guilds is where it would be, due west. In size I always imagined it to be smaller than the other guilds, but also not tiny. Maybe like two Enchanted Forests together.

Why have I had The Beach Boys stuck in my head the last few days? “I’m gettin’ bored drivin’ up and down the same old strip, I need to find a new place where the kids are hip…”

It’s fun trying to find the differences between this and the original. Like, there are three courses of shingles on the front timber-framed overhang in yours, but only two in ZC’s, probably because he did not have the rear dark brown tile, but you do. And that small gargoyle thing above the gate, too, is a nice touch. And an updated tree inside, and all the vegetation, really. And the curly corbels under the half-arch supports. Subtle things, but it looks nice.

It’s unmistakably ZC’s style, but it still looks great all these years later. The updated water looks nice, and of course having all those great-looking figs adds something to it, especially Bob. I love Bob. Throw one of those red pirate stocking cap/bandana head coverings on him and he wouldn’t look too out of place, honestly.

No new parts, though, alas. I’ve been very much out of the loop with LEGO purchases, having missed out on all the cool castle stuff in the last few years, especially DnD figs. Ah well. I’ll try anyway!

All genuine LEGO. The hair, for example, come from Barbara Gordon in the LEGO Batman Movie. Her face is Rey from Star Wars. The torso is probably a Lion castle king’s, but I don’t recall now which one. The cape thing is from the Ice Queen from series 16 CMF line. As the one who created the character of the queen back in…hmm…2017? 2018?…it’s been a while…, I can definitively say the Fire Emblem series had nothing to do with it, as I have never heard of it. It was more of what I had around that looked convincingly royal and feminine, I think, without a dress, of which I had very few at that time. Glad you like her, though! Grover did a good job of building her a scene here.

Good thing I have that one Black Panther set! I have the mask. It’s nice to feel rich…muahahaha! I will be delighted to see him some time in the future, when he becomes aware of his good fortune of belonging to the best guild. In the meantime, welcome back!
