  1. Welcome! If you've already read through the New Member Guide (first post primarily), then you need to introduce your character and declare allegiance in one of the four active guild threads: Mitgardia, Avalonia, Kaliphlin, or Varlyrio. Then you can start posting free builds or challenge entries as new topics in the GoH sub-forum. Let us know if you have any more questions!
  2. Terrifying rumor The reflection affect is super cool, and I also like your candle stick design in that interior. Good looking inn, with a fitting name And the Avalonian colors look great in the border
  3. I love your ride paddies technique The loose trans blue studs look so cool piled among the grass! Fabulous stonewalls as well with their various curves making the scene so much more convincing. And lastly the FP backdrop is one of the better ones I've seen, fabulous clouds
  4. There's a number of things to admire in this build I'll start with the dirt path: you did a tremendous job making it look worn and muddy and I especially like the wedge plates around the outer edges where the dirt hasn't been trod down as much The trees frame the castle nicely and look fabulous with the snow covered leaves. And the castle itself... Wonderful layout with a great balance of texture and architectural detail, plus you managed to fit a full interior in it! Super nifty weapon racks, a nice chandelier, and ladders to reach all the different levels give a great sense of realism. Your photo quality is also quite good, I have only one suggestion in that department: while the flat to the build views work quite well with this particular model, it's often better to have an angled shot for the main overview pictures. For instance, a picture like this: Gives a better impression of the actual size and layout of the model than one directly from the front or side: Anyways I'm super excited to see more builds from you, and what happens to Hob and Louis
  5. Deep ditches are a common defensive practice we don't see much in LEGO - well done including those! The makeshift wooden wall and tower fit well as quickly built fortifications for small towns
  6. @Aurore So glad to have you! That's a great fig combo, and I'm excited to see more builds featuring an herbalist You've been added to the members index
  7. This scene made up part two of my entry for the From Field to Goblet category of the Colossal Castle Contest XVI. Credit for the swan design goes to Steven Erickson. See part 1. As the apples are picked, full barrels of the tasty fruit are carted back to the farm where they can be processed into cider. Both Eryl and Elise have a grand time seeing more of the fields and livestock as they escort the cart. Their dogs are also greatly intrigued by the various new animals to investigate, much to the amusement of their young farm boy friend. More pictures on Brickbuilt. Feedback always appreciated
  8. @Blaze I'm doing well, and need to start posting more free builds. I have a good number finished. Great to see you cranking out builds @dathil Excellent! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with then.
  9. Very cool train layout! The passenger cars look quite comfortable, and the town setup has a nice variety of buildings The fox design in grey does look great as a dog!
  10. 9 - 1 point 11 - 1 point 13 - 1 point Excellent contest with plenty of superb entries!
  11. Third free build period is ended, and the fourth started. So make a new post in this topic when needed to serve as index for your free builds from this period
  12. Man that hall is gorgeous Fantastic use of colors, and the pillar setup combined with your use of macaroni tile gives a beautiful fantasy look Nice mix of reddish brown and dark red for the roof too! The stone podium below the hall has some neat SNOT steps and your tents are some of the better ones I've seen. Definitely my favorite build from you yet
  13. Correct. Many of you have likely already seen this on flickr, but the Summer Joust has started again! There are 6 categories and 17 prizes. Anyone is welcome to enter, and so long as you didn't post the build before June 1st you can use your GoH models as entries when they fit a category Full details in the flickr group.
  14. As June begins, so does the Summer Joust! Open from June 1st - July 31st, you can see all the details in the flickr group. There are 6 categories and 17 prizes! So check it out now and join the castle building fun
  15. Great to hear they were helpful! Headlight Brick Cobblestone Tutorial
  16. Looks like a productive farm! I like the style of stonework with thick walls, and just a few SNOT dark bley tiles here and there. The 2x2 dark tan tiles make excellent thatched roofs, while the river in front adds plenty of visual interest
  17. Super solid bridge design The SNOT arch looks great, as do the buttresses on either side of the river. Fun mix of colors for the landscape, and your brick built wagon wheels are neat
  18. Great composition with the two cliffs framing a small stream I like how you include a stone foundation below the wood tower, but the stack of 1x1 round bricks in bley at the tower corners look a bit out of place to me.
  19. With all the snow Mitgardia has, it's good to see it being put to good use! Very nifty incorporation of the Mitgardian colors in the border, and I like how you included the dragon shield as well Keep up the great work, I've really been enjoying seeing your Mitgardian models!
  20. Fantastic use of that column design! And the 4x4 round plates set stud to stud at the tops give a very neat pattern Excellent lighting, as we've come to expect in your interior settings. Fun choice using 2x2 turntables to give a cool texture/pattern to the ceilings. And the floor is also beautiful with that SNOT pattern and elaborate carpet leading to the throne
  21. Beautiful throne room, and you nailed the Avalonian style. The 2x2 round brick columns look great, as do the series of arches over sand green/dark green bricks behind the throne The dragon skulls and various sig figs finish the scene nicely
  22. Brings back some memories of old Mitgardian builds seeing those grass stalk pine trees Great work with the tower itself and I like how you use one yellow arm and one green arm on the soldiers. Excellent cobblestone path with the various round elements
  23. Very cool forest scene, you've definitely made some improvements from your previous landscapes and trees Fun and clever story too!
  24. You're welcome, good to hear you found them useful! Photography and Editing Process
