  1. Very cool church! The red roof looks great against the white walls, and it's super neat how you incorporated lighting So happy to hear our tutorials have been helpful for you
  2. Always a joy seeing your large scale castles Superb use of 45° angles to give a very unique layout to the fortress. Especially when combined with the multiple wall setup I also like how you made the roads out of 2x2 round plates and 1x1 round plates, it's a nice variation of the more common tile design. Your spiky trees look fabulous as always
  3. Wow The main fortifications look spectacular with the two towers flanking a lovely middle eastern gate Inside the market stalls, livestock pen, trees, and house all come together to make a very well fleshed out scene.
  4. Superb castle! The rugged defensible look is excellent, and the addition over the entrance is a wonderful touch Great use of cheese for the main castle roof too
  5. Ruins can be rather tricky, but you handled them well here. The section of tumbled wall looks quite natural, and it's really cool how you can see glimpses of the tower interior through the boarded up hole in the side
  6. Fabulous of printed elements, and your incorporation of the sloped panels into vertical walls is flawless Very convincing lighting for the scene too!
  7. This has to be one of my favorite GoH builds ever The off the grid placement of the entire stronghold combined with the cut-away interiors makes for an extremely engaging model. And you handled those angles so smoothly! Each of the interior rooms offers interesting designs and details to admire. Some of my favorite are the stone vaults in the cellar, wooden rafters in the kitchen, and circular staircase There's certainly no lack of detail on the building exterior either! Insane combination of wood beams with stone walls, and the shingled roof is top-notch. Featured on Brickbuilt
  8. Wonderful use of the flowers still on sprue tree design The other two trees are excellent as well and match the landscape colors nicely. The log bricks and grill bricks in the tower give a lovely carved wood effect too
  9. Very good winter landscape. As Grover mentioned it would be clearer what the stream was if it sat a little lower than the banks, and if it ran right to the edge, or slightly over the edge of the base that would be great too. Nice storytelling and it's fun seeing the accompanying photos that illustrate what's going on
  10. I very much like the layout of this model with the bridge crossing the river, and then a winding path leading up to the newly fortified house The stonework on the buildings is excellent, and fits well in Mitgardia. The small piles of snow topping various surfaces give a great winter look. And the interior looks very cozy with those warm beds. I saw your updated pictures on flickr and think your editing and adjusted photo angles show off the quality of the model beautifully
  11. Wagons and Carts Tutorial #3
  12. All your hard work really paid off! Magnificent model with a nice touch of fantasy styling that you've still made seem plausible The unique setup with rock base is magnificent, and having built some floating rock islands for Isles of Aura, I remember having to use upside down slopes instead of inverted slopes myself Brilliant use of technic elements for the scaffolding. The giant ballista makes a great finishing touch for the defenses
  13. Excellent series of builds, with my favorites being the first interior and dark drow setting The combination of wood rafters and sturdy looking stone wall looks fabulous. And you managed a super clean fit with the angled building among the rockwork. The SNOT dark red bricks make for a suitably sinister looking liquid.
  14. You've been very productive lately! The prison cart is excellent, and you have some neat part usage in the harness Good trees and landscape as well, though I think the grill tiles look a bit out of place as snow.
  15. That is one of the prettiest floors I've seen Great column setup, especially in the back with the half rounded pillars The huge curtains, potted plants, and elegant chandelier all help complete the scene. And the upper balcony with gold railing is also excellent.
  16. Beautiful windmill, the tapering effect is fabulous Excellent choice of colors for the landscape and plants too
  17. The shrine features some lovely color choices and the overall shape looks fabulous Your fig combos are excellent, with the blue arms fitting nicely in combination with the bear banner. And the SNOT snow base was a great choice
  18. Lovely castle! It reminds me of a lot of older castle builds in a good way Good choice to mix some dark tan into the walls, and I like the wooden railings. Excellent battlements, and I like that stout tree
  19. @ForTheGreaterGood Glad to have you join! Captain Arion is now in the members index
  20. @Louis of Nutwood Ah yes, the issue of photography. Often the most frustrating part of building is trying to get good photos I wondered if background size was part of the reason you used mainly the angles you do. Kai's tips for dealing with that are quite solid. We use Ikea Tupplur Roller blinds as our backdrops now (see the post linked to below), and those are super convenient. I would recommend starting to use Gimp a bit. It will take a little while to get used to, but it has way more functionality than Paint. I usually use Gimp first, then load the images into Paint for the basic Cropping/Resizing. I detailed the full photo process John and I use in a post on Brickbuilt. Curves, Brightness/Contrast, and Rotation are what we use most often in Gimp. Practically every photo will pop better with a little adjustment to those. It took me a few years to get comfortable taking photos and happy with their quality. Fortunately you have a way better start than I did Stick with it and with some practice you'll figure out what system works well for you. And of course feel free to ask for more tips here - as everyone is more than happy to help
  21. Lovely immersive interior. The multiple stair setup is fabulous And I'm amazed by how well the trans-black works as the floor tiles! Nifty to use those torch sconces upside down for once as well
  22. Fun use of the water wheel elements to make a rounded tower shape Good way to incorporate those telescopes too, though Navarre's tip would definitely improved the field
  23. Really promising start! Love the white accent and sand green dome Too bad you weren't able to finish in time, but it will make a tremendous free build.
  24. Thanks Geneva! Dark green is really nice in that it works well with a wide variety of colors. Thank you very much Thanks! And yeah, more horse colors would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Grover, and yeah those huskies are family pets, so they're usually around in builds featuring Eryl and Elise
  25. Super cool perspective looking down the street The curved wall makes a great backdrop, and each of the buildings has some very cool designs. Lovely ring of fire effects too
