  1. I'm very happy that the upscaled blue Classic Space astronaut has a printed logo. I'm not sure if I would even buy it if it had a sticker. I'll buy it next time I go to a Lego store.
  2. At first I didn't like the latest City space sets at all but after a while I learned to appreciate them because the concept is similar to Classic Space and they are definitely sci-fi. They are still not my cup of tea but they fill an important role in the lineup. If kids would dislike non licensed sci-fi sets and themes they would never have made the most recent City space sets. It think that those who say that kids doesn't like space/sci-fi themes should either post some proof/sources or stop saying it. We already have proof (on video) that SW was the reason for the end of the Space theme so I don't understand how people still can deny that. I think that under current circumstances the best way forward would be another City space faction and let the consumer decide if they are allies, enemies or something in between to the current faction.
  3. I really like this one. It looks really great in Blacktron colors. The canopy looks like it was made for Blacktron.
  4. The Lego Education space sets feels like a hidden second wave of the City Space sets. I especially like the rover.
  5. Yesterday I bought 6066 Camouflaged Outpost for 50€ (plus 6€ for shipping). Only the small plumes, the bows and the halberd are missing and I have spares except for the small black plume. One small tree is missing from the picture but it is also included. The cheapest sets on Bricklink with minifigs included are 100€ so I'm very happy with this find. The pictures are from the seller and now I look forward to building this set that I've wanted since my childhood.
  6. I like this alternate build very much and the background in the picture is so cool. The same goes for this one. Very creative building methods! Both Futuron and M-Tron are subthemes that I like very much.
  7. Nice! I hope that the Galacticoaster will also come to Billund.
  8. In my opinion the amount of specialized parts is huge nowadays. For example I find the specialized car roof plates totally unnecessary. In the 80s and 90s there was much more overlap between themes and their parts selection. A more limited color palette was also helpful when building large MOCs back then, that and aesthetic reasons is why I only use the colors that were available in the year 2000 when building MOCs.
  9. I think that is exactly what is missing. Creating small worlds was one of the funniest thing when I was a kid and it also encouraged kids to get more sets and pieces. That was reflected in the catalogs with beautiful dioramas with many sets and landscapes. Nowadays there are just some boring pictures of the sets on top of lazy computer made backgrounds.
  10. I once built a spaceship for Ideas and included Futuron in the name and it wasn't allowed so I had to remove the Futuron part of the name but they didn't mind the Futuron looking spaceship which was allowed which is very interesting because I've seen many builds called something with M-Tron or Blacktron. Nowadays it's unfortunately mostly licensed builds that gets selected which is a huge shame because great sets such as the Barracuda Bay and the Medieval Blacksmith were Ideas sets.
  11. I think that Lego Ideas should only accept builds that are non-licensed because there are so many other licensed sets and themes.
  12. I prefer visible studs in sets. No point trying to hide that it is a Lego set.
  13. I don't mind minifigs being unique and like the variety of the 80s and 90s minifigs but I on the other hand don't like too detailed minifigs. I think that leg and helmet printing should only be used on special minifigs like officers and robots like Spyrius and Unitron did.
  14. Thanks. That is close enough. Such a beautiful ship and awesome combination of ship, sails and minifigs. Is this your creation?
  15. They can be useless for someone (like me) who can't stand the fleshies at all. I very seldom buy licensed sets but when I do I always change the heads to yellow ones. I most recently did so with the subway Spider Man set which I bought because I wanted the train.
  16. I think they should make something similar to fantasy era Castle but with pirates instead. For those like me that prefer only light fantasy elements there is always the possibility to buy only the more "normal" sets (like I did during the Castle fantasy era).
  17. You're welcome! I noticed it when I looked for an old picture of mine. It was a very pleasant surprise to find Brickshelf fully functional.
  18. Why pay licenses for designs from recycled movies when Lego can make much better sets and designs themselves? In house sets are a win-win, the consumer gets cheaper and better looking sets and Lego can keep more of the profit.
  19. I think that using focus groups with kids when making/designing sets and themes should be kept to a minimum. The designers should be allowed more saying in the process and results from focus groups are very misleading. It's like having the kids choosing what to eat every day and they'll choose ice cream, candy and pizza and that is not good for them in the long run. The kids are supposed to play with the toys and not to design them. Of course should the sets be tested with kids but not in the way it's currently done.
  20. Those sets can quite easily be modified to normal Pirates sets an therefore I would like to see more of them. I found this picture on Classic Pirates FB but couldn't look at it closer because I'm not a member. Maybe @Mister Phes knows more about it? I like the sails. https://www.facebook.com/groups/classicpirates/posts/10162067551994195/
  21. That is good. Let's hope that many people start using Brickshelf again.
  22. @Plumber Brickshelf is accepting new accounts again. Of all image sharing websites I like Brickshelf the most. https://www.brickshelf.com/
