Lego City 2026, Leaks, Rumours and Discussion
SpacePolice89 replied to Izzynufc-2's topic in LEGO Town
One of the best waves of City sets in many years. Except Rides, those just feel unnecessary. -
This is fantastic in so many different ways!

I agree. I think 60449 is a prime example of that and one of the worst regular City sets ever made. I also think that the Stuntz subtheme should never have been made because the sets were hideous. -

I got the CS minifigs from the vending machine set yesterday. I am happy I made the decision to order them. They look fantastic. I got inspiration to build a small spaceship for them. -
I think they look great. Perfect colors and look for Blacktron 1. The only thing I miss is a minifig driving the tank.

What next vintage set could be recreated by TLG ?
SpacePolice89 replied to Khargeust's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm afraid that you might be right but I still hope that they'll make a new Black Knights Castle because the Lion Knights Castle seems to have been the most popular Icons remake. -

Why would they suddenly stop making them? -

I wouldn't give up yet. With the Lion Knights Castle being hugely popular there's still a decent chance that we'll get a new large Castle Icons set. -

It looks like a Lego Turtle tank! -

I wonder why they stopped having many different minifigs and gear in the City Advent calendars? They used to have police officers, firefighters, construction workers etc. Now they only have Christmas themed minifigs and animal suits. Nothing wrong with that but I have little use for such stuff and would like to see a return to a mix of regular minifigs and Christmas themed ones. -
It must be more costly to have the Aldi sets shipped from China to Europe compared to shipping Lego sets from Denmark or the Czech Republic to other European countries so I believe logistics can't be blamed. I have never seen any market research that has given such results. If any has been made the results have not been made public. Designing a minifig is a long process involving several employees so having modern designs ready in a digital database is equal to saving a lot of money. Using already existing pieces would save even more. The resistance to themes such as Pirates, Space and Castle seem to more of an ideology among the new generation of license minded company executives than financial decisions based on research.

If a discount grocery store can sell a full lineup of pirate sets Lego should do it before they start losing market share to these knockoff brands. All the pieces are there and minifig designs already exist so if they wanted to they could quite easily design 5-10 sets and have them available in stores fast and with no money going to new pieces, minifigs or licenses the prices could be kept reasonably low. The sets should be primarily aimed at kids (and AFOLs that like normal System style Pirates sets). The Imperial Soldiers from the new Eldorado Fortress would be perfect for the subtheme and there are enough pirate minifigs from the Barracuda Bay and the Creator Pirate ship so that they can be combined in new ways.

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

I'm so tired of all the display only sets, too many boring sets nowadays. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
SpacePolice89 replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I wanted to wait for PAB but the possible situation of some of the pieces selling out and then having to monitor the availability constantly started to stress me out. As I have no interest in the set itself and only needed one of each Space minifig and one Paradisa minifig I guess it was the easiest and best option to order from Bricklink. -
Is the medieval theme as popular as it used to be?
SpacePolice89 replied to plastic-man's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I share the same hopes and fears but I think it is plausible that we'll get a new large Castle Icons set in 2026, maybe a modern version of the Black Knight's Castle. -

I ordered the Classic Space minifigs from the vending machine set from Bricklink for € 13.40 and € 13.29. What do you think, did I pay too much and should've waited for PAB instead? I originally planned to buy them from PAB but I got worried that some of the pieces for the minifigs will sell out very fast. At the same time I ordered some pieces I needed and one of the Paradisa minifigs. -

Kinda sad to see most of the City Space sets getting discontinued soon. While I still struggle too see them as proper Space sets they are fantastic in their own way. It's a shame that they didn't make more of them or introduce another faction. With them gone and the new Renegade also getting discontinued there will be no unlicensed sci-fi sets available. That sucks big time. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
SpacePolice89 replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
For me Ninja has never been a Castle subtheme, more like a separate theme. The factions of Ninja rely heavily on firearms and those became common in Japan in the mid 16th century and therefore the theme is not medieval in my opinion. -
It is very rare to see Lego and Duplo parts mixed. The plane chassis looks like a natural part of the spaceship and it looks great!

MOCability of themes heavy on the old grays (and browns)
SpacePolice89 replied to Xfing's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I prefer old gray for Classic Space MOCs -
Always nice to see builds from other themes in Classic Space colors.

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
SpacePolice89 replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I agree. Those small sets are very important. My first Castle sets were all small sets that got me interested in the Castle theme. Then I wished for the larger sets like castles for Christmas or birthdays. -
I wanted to build a small fort in the same style as the original Imperial Soldiers sets.
-
Those ships look fantastic! I like the minifigs with old and new pieces mixed and the sails look very realistic.

What happens when a set gets chosen as a BDP set, who owns the design, Lego or the designer?
