As you know, LEGO has made 2024 the year of space; incorporating the ‘space’ banner across many established themes. If successful, this will hopefully bring in a new wave of space fans and satisfy some older fans of space and classic space. Is this something LEGO may attempt for other classic themes; specifically, Castle? It could be wishful thinking but I don’t think its impossible that 2025 or 2026 could be the year of Castle. Depending on the success of “Space 2024”, it could allow LEGO to be more flexible with its Castle banner and help satisfy multiple groups of LEGO fans while introducing a new generation to Castle. Spreading the banner of Castle across many themes would allow us to get more variety of pieces and prints. Themes such as CMF, ICONS, Creator, Friends, Duplo, City, Technic, Ninjago and maybe even introducing a new theme in the castle wave. I’m not sure how it would be executed but we can definitely take some cues from “Space 2024” for a theoretical “Castle 2025” What are your thoughts and do you think LEGO might go down this route in 2025 or 2026?

Hello everyone, at the beginning of December 2025 with the launch of set 42223 Ford GT40, I asked myself a question: Is it possible to take parts from this set and turn it into the V8 Interceptor from Mad Max with no additional pieces? Let's find it out. Back in January 2022, I planned a V8 Interceptor model from parts of the 42127 Batmobile but canceled it for another build. Four years later a new chance with a new compatible inventory seems there with the Ford GT40, but this time in Car-Transporter-Gang-Style. Turning a black LEGO Technic Ford into another black Ford seems to be a bit predictable, but what exactly is the V8 Interceptor...? The last of the V8 Interceptors, also known as the Pursuit Special, is a heavily customized Ford Falcon XB GT Muscle Car driven in the Mad Max movie franchise. To be honest, I personally never saw any of these movies, but I would like to see this model in LEGO Technic for a long time. So let's start transforming the 42223 Ford GT40. In mid of December 2025, I worked on some digital sketches for the V8 Interceptor to figure out some building techniques for the covered front lights, the V8 engine itself and for all the details of the model that are not black. It's no surprise that the car is 15 studs in wide like all the Transporter-Gang members, so I was focused at all the functions the finished Interceptor should have. In one of the sketches you can see that a hinged HoG steering was planned (like in the new Rexy Porsche), which was unfortunately not possible to make with the limited inventory. Completely different from the Ford GT40, the V8 needs to be placed in front above the steering. All the functional magic have to work at the front of the car and it was the biggest challange of this B-model to make a proper and stable steering with the V8 on top. For the finished car I decided for a linkage steering, to let the car steer directly with the steering wheel inside. It was literally impossible with this inventory to cross the drivetrain from the engine with the steering to make a proper HoG steering, but the linkage works pretty well. The steering angle is the same as on the Ford GT40. The car is originally made as right-hand-drive (Australian layout) and can be easily changed to LHD layout. The linkage system for the steering works in both ways. As an owner of the set 42210 2F2F Nissan Skyline from 2025, I noticed that this set shares alot of parts with the inventory of the Ford GT40 - even the trans-red round rear-lights. In December 2025, the Ford GT40 was not available yet, so I decided to use parts from the Nissan Skyline for building some early prototypes of the front section. The only part I borrowed from another set was the black fender panel, but unlike that the Nissan Skyline inventory did a great job for the front and for checking out all the functions and stability. The V8 engine and steering mechanism was born, all made with help of the parts from the Nissan Skyline. 2026 arrived and with it the new 42223 Ford GT. A set was quickly bought and after some more digital sketches later, I combined the rear section of the car with the front section. Of course I have built the Ford GT40 main set first, with which I am very satisfied. The building techniques and half-stud offsets were top-notch at this class. The rear section with all the wild paneling you can see on the picture above is made with parts from the Ford GT40, while the front up to the doors is still made with parts from the Nissan Skyline. The prototypes were satisfactory and a second copy of the set Ford GT40 was needed to finish it up. Cosmo the office cat was again very keen to unbox it. I used the first bought set to keep the Ford GT40 model and the second one to polish and finish the V8 Interceptor model. The finished car uses 740 parts from its donor set, has openable doors, a working V8 and working steering. Suitable for 42098 Car Transporter As an unofficial member of the Car-Transporter-Gang, the V8 Interceptor alternate build fits 100% to the 42098 Car Transporter. Rebrickable's 250.000 MOC Australia was used as the main spot for the Mad Max movie production and by chance the V8 Interceptor is the exactly 250.000 MOC that was launched on Australia rebrickable. It's quite neat that this model has the Australian reference where the host MOC-platform is located. Finally some pictures of the V8 Interceptor model, with climate conditions far away from Australia... This topic was created to discuss the new a-pillar piece (part ID not known yet) and to share building ideas. As far as we know, the LEGO Technic set 42223 1966 Ford GT introduces a brand-new useful piece in 2026. The committed user @R0Sch was so kind to make a digital version of this new part in PartDesigner. This piece allows unforeseen possibilities in the Technic ecosystem and is made as a 6L liftarm with 1L staggered pinholes. As for a 6L liftarm it can be used in common 4-5-6 stable triangle connections, but now with a slightly angled hypotenuse that allows us to build slightly angled stable triangles in Technic. This finally clears the way to build stable crane masts and foremasts for tower cranes - as an example. I'm pretty sure this magnificent part comes on more colors in future sets as well.
