  1. The plane looks awesome. The forced perspective is a neat idea. That pilot outfit looks great. Good use of pieces there. What head did you use? Good job with this. Very unique with the story attached.
  2. This will be exciting. My daughter will flip out. She loves Friends and princesses... Plus, I'm sure most of the pieces will come in handy for building other things, so that will work out for everyone.
  3. I liked Loki's helmet. I may be the only one though. This theme definitely will be the must have this next year. Good thing some of those leaked images for other themes weren't as appealing to make up the monetary difference.
  4. I really like the stonework on the house itself. I need to get to work on mine sometime. This is very inspiring. The added interior is a nice touch. I like how from one angle it looks like a complete build and from the other you can see it is only half with an interior. Very neat build idea. Keep up the great work!
  5. Time is definitely a facet of life we don't have enough of. It seems to be a trend that most people who get out of LEGO will get back into it at some point in their life. With that said, do what you can with the sets you have. If time is an issue, then find good storage because you will probably want to break them out again. If space is an issue, then get rid of the sets that wouldn't phase you. It'd be hard to pick which sets I'd keep out of all of mine, but I can think of a few important sets off the top of my head. Do some research and look into the more collectible sets that you might be able to make money off of, if you are willing to sell them to make space. Best of luck with your busy life.
  6. I think Brickset shows over 110,000...That is certainly a lot. I've considered opening up a bricklink store to sell off unwanted pieces, of which I have a lot.
  7. I found a comic shop in a nearby city. He said they come out in October and will be extremely hard to find. He didn't even think he was going to be able to get any (and this is one of the bigger stores in the city). He looked at his order sheet and each one was about $20, unless you want the sketch variant and then it shoots up to about $70. I guess I was surprised. I had no idea they would be this collectible. But he also said no one else has come in asking about them yet either. It makes me wonder how many will actually get printed then. I was going to get one of each, but now knowing how much it will cost and how limited the release will be, I will probably pass altogether.
  8. Actually the show was cancelled a couple of different times. Plus, it is cancelled now so they wouldn't be able to have the continuing support like the Simpson's would have. It seems a lot of people want that theme, but I never could get into it. I've never met someone that likes both. Usually it is one or the other. As far as that goes, I'd rather buy Simpson's figures in a CMF than buy Futurama figure.
  9. You have to consider at the time of release dark red wasn't as plentiful. It still isn't super common though. The FB was my first modular and it is still my favorite one. The build is really satisfying and the end result blows me away. I think it looks great. At least open one to enjoy. I would agree that since the production run was longer than the original modular, I bet anyone who wanted one has it. Plus, the profit made will never reach the levels of CC or GG, mostly because they were some of the first. You can sit on it indefinitely with no guarantee of making any money, or you can open it and have a (near) guarantee of enjoying it.
  10. A job well done. You captured the original at a good scale. The trees work really well. I like the trees a lot! Keep up the good work!
  11. Thanks for sharing. I don't recall seeing any of those posters as a kid. I loved Ice Planet and Blacktron II, and castle/pirates amongst other themes. But I don't recall seeing posters. That hologram is cool too!
  12. From what I've seen, TRU usually goes for $3.19. I think they realized they can still charge more, but not as much as they were. Maybe it's a fluke, but that is what they are priced at here. I've only looked at 2 places and still no sign of them here. Although I did see a lot of old series 9 again. They must have been clearing out their back room. I've noticed they don't stick around here for very long, so you almost need to get them right when they come out because the stores don't seem to re-stock them ever. I'm slowly getting fizzled out on these CMFs. Maybe the next 3 series that are different themes might kick start the interest again.
  13. The most I have is about 17 Revolutionary Soldiers from the series 10 CMF. It is a great update to the blue coats.
  14. That's cool to see. I have seen a few MOCs in LEGO stores before, but normally they don't look as good as this. Probably helps I love LOTR theme. The downside, people might think this is related to the line and want to buy a copy and then get disappointed when they realize that LEGO hasn't released anything cool yet...
  15. I supported it to help it along. Although, it might be best to not have it hit 10k since this review period is getting a tad full as we speak. Either way, it will hit the number sooner or later.
  16. As far as I'm aware, each D2C set essentially replaces the previous one, even though they are available longer. I'd love to see more medieval civilian sets though.
  17. Well they had a limit of 2 per household I think. And they just finished out the rest of the latest run. My local lego store got in another 10 today and sold out already. It is a highly sought after set, mostly because it is 'limited edition.'
  18. Thanks for your insights. I, too, loved the haunted house. They really nailed what one should look like. I do like monsters, but not going to harness houses. Odd I know. I love the grand emporium actually. The repetitive nature is what those types of buildings were like. It is neat they do interiors, but it doesn't bother me when they are empty. I plan on getting the VW for Christmas. After watching the designer video I was hooked. Even though originally I wasn't planning on getting it.
  19. There is the possibility they weren't aware it would sell out that quickly. 20,000 is a lot of units to move.
  20. To be honest, I don't remember Cloud City... But I'm impressed with the build. It looks great and very Star Warsy. I really like the grated tiled flooring. Keep up the good work.
  21. To be honest, Batman could have used that bat in that fight... poor Bruce.
  22. I haven't seen that before. That is really neat. I have considered getting a big yellow head, just to have one, but I think the skull would be a neat idea too. The instagram photo also says pumpkin heads were there? That would be really neat also. Keep us posted if you find anything out about them. I don't know how functional those actually are, but they look cool.
  23. FuzzyBallz - I really recommend the Funhouse personally. I own both of those and the Bat and Tumbler look great and the figures are awesome, but the Funhouse has 5 great figures plus some neat play features. The ultimate question is, to play or display. I have both of my sets still put together, so it is a toss up. If you can keep your eye out, the Bat Vs Bane Chase set has been on clearance around here at Targets for about 30% off. Compare that to an exclusive set that I have only seen on Shop @ Home.
  24. Those are some great characters. I love seeing purist recreations because that means I can copy any if I ever so desire. I'm amazed at how Steam Punky these look. Good work there. My favorites are the first row, first lady with the scientist hair. Brilliant. My next favorite is 5th row, first guy (with bike mechanic head). I didn't care for that figure, but the head works really well there. Keep up the great work. I don't know enough about Steam Punk to follow suit, but this is inspiring.
  25. I think it was a Toys 'R Us exclusive last fall. I picked mine up before Thanksgiving, I know that much. I think it was pretty limited.
